The staff were very friendly and helpful. I was given very good directions to a couple of places. The breakfast was good and room comfortable The heat in the room was far too hot and the bathroom door needs a handle.

The location for where I was working was spot on. Free Wi-Fi throughout was brilliant for a business traveller. Clean and comfortable and reasonably priced. Walls thin therefore noise carried and I had to be up early but only complaint.

Historic building frontage. Cedar tree. Welcoming reception staff. Trying to get in to the accommodation with key was a real pain. I couldn't get in to 22 so changed to 24. Room was depressing, felt like a £15 a night Blackpool b & b room.

Price/Location No heating at all in room. Shower just a trickle. Light switches not working. Tv not working. Poor breakfast. I was in the annex and it looked totally worn out and I am sure the hotel know the problems. Have booked the mother in law in for a week!!

Staff were very helpful and polite, with a family atmousphere. My room was very comfortable. I didn't eat at the hotel, as the menu was expensive and lacked fresh veg.

Quality of food was good, however menu was restricted to bar meals.Staff in restaurent were friendly and helpful. Absence of a carpet in our bedroom (No.1)meant the room lacked cosiness, room could do with redecoration.

What impressed me most, was the helpfulness and friendliness of the Staff.Good breakfast, comfortable bed. Only spent a short time actually in the hotel, so what more do you need. Will stay again when in Rugeley.

The receptionist was pleasant and helpful on our arrival. 1. The hotel had not been properly cleaned. 2. Insufficient towels had been put in our room for two people (it was booked for two). 3. The shaving light in the bathroom did not work. 4. The shower was mouldy and there was no hot water. 5. We were offered a shower in the next room but the door lock mechanism was so worn it was almost impossible to gain access. 6. The waste bin in our bathroom had not been emptied after the previous occupants. 7. The tea cups in the room were dirty. 8. The main room light flashed but would not come on properly. 9. The view from our room window was over the flat roof of the hotel conference centre. Not a problem in itself but the roof was covered in stagnant pools of water and foliage growing 2-3 feet high. Clearly no maintenance for a long time. 10. When I explained all the problems at checkout, the receptionist simply shrugged, offering neither apology nor a reduction in price. This was quite simply one of the worst hotel experiences I can recall, and over many years I have travelled the world extensively.
