Score from 125 reviews Good
spacious room which was clean and comfortable, evening meal tasty and a good price
breakfast was plentiful but the cooked element was tasteless
Automatic entry doors opening directly onto the foyer/bar/restaurant areas meant that there was a contual stream of cold air coming into the hotel. Myself & my colleagues had to wear coats in order to keep warm.
the sauna pool
shower was called in the room
The restaurant was excellent
The public rooms were a little cold (early December)
Dining area, bar area
Wallpaper coming off walls in room
The staff were friendly and courteous.
The room was not clean. The welcome pack was filthy. The pillows were poor. The decor was tatty and dated.
Some of the staff was very helpful The facilities Clean, bright and fresh overall
Resteraunt staff abrupt Night reception staff not very helpful noise Could have been more informative Function going on till 1am Could have been asked on checking in if we were with function on the Saturday night. Couldn't get served at bar on Saturday night so had to have room service which there was a £5.00 tray charge (this was not a problem but shouldn't have had to stay in our room all night instead of chilling in the bar) Friday night was very good
Reception staff were nice.
bathroom had nasty black stains throughout the tiles and grout. Pillows were horrendous like sleeping on a brick. booked with booking.com seemed like they saved their poorest quality rooms for these customers.
Location of hotel was good and staff were very welcoming and friendly.
My room near the reception was noisy with lots of people walking by on the way to and from their rooms. Also found bed a little too firm for me and the shower was a little weak.
The swimming pool
Most things. There was 400 students staying the weekend in the hotel. We were not previously informed and they behaved appalling. Got around 3 hours sleep in total on Saturday and Sunday night.
Gym was small but adequate
Room was nicely done up and modern, breakfast was good and the staff very efficient.
There was a used bar if soap in the bathroom shower, reception was very busy and our room although 272 was on the first floor reception didn't tell Ne and I had a lot of things to carry it took me ten minutes to find the room!
Easy to find, staff were lovely
If i had to say something, our room looked a little tired compared with the rest of the hotel
Very clean. Comfy bed. Good shower.
Pillows too flat. Bathroom dated and tired looking.
staff friendliness. Pool and steam room. ability to take the dog. proximity to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
slightly aging room facilities -
everything except gym
The bed was comfortable and the staff were very nice and friendly
For the reputation this place has I was very disapointed and it all felt a bit premier inn like but at substantially more money, did not feel like good value for money
Excellent staff very helpful.
Room looked like it had not been decorated for years very dated very worn out ...needs updating badly. .was a wedoing on when I stayed very noisy all night. .
Kettle didn't boil properly. Bathroom lights in ceiling went ON &OFF. First room next to steps, was extremely noisy, even though we were booked in Friday &Saturday Room 226 was at the start of the wedding guest rooms. The banging of doors & shouting/arguing in the corridor went on into the early hours. The worst night we have ever spent in a hotel room. Why were we put in this room? Awaiting reply!!!
Generally staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and other food service good. Lounge and bar area very comfortable.
Asked for room with separate shower and were given the disabled room, which had a very uncomfortable mattress with plastic sheeting over it! Eventually sorted out. Not keen on restaurant area being part of the lounge/bar area. The ambience wasn't good.
Staff are nice , bar area is modern as recently refurbed.
Rooms are very dated and worn but still clean, needs bringing up to date for this price, If it was half the price id say ok fair enough.
Convenience and great staff
Quality of pillows.
Room was cleaning Reception staff very helpful Will stAy again
Staff who served breakfast were not very friendly coffee was weak and had no flavour
All good. Helpful staff and comfortable rooms.
