We have had a good experience (myself and my daughter), it is more a house feeling than an hotel, the owners are very friendly and the rooms are big. Even if the Hotel is not situated in the middle of London city it is still very easy to reach London, 10 min with the bus (any bus) and 15 min with the train which arrives at Victoria Station. Around Cedars House you have a lot facilities like supermarket (Tesco express), a very nice shopping center with pubs, restaurants and shops. Other facilities from Cesar Hotel, you can enjoy breakfast until mid-day (the owners are very flexible), wifi everywhere, television in all the rooms, you can use the wash-machine, microwave and you can cook your own dinner (very handy for big families, London stays expensive to go out every night !). I would advice Cesar Hotel to anybody who wants to have a good time in London for a reasonable price. To resume our 10 days in London ... it was great and very happy about the choice we made, a special thank to David and Flora The isolation in between the rooms is very poor, you can follow the conversation of you neighbours, maybe not the best place to go for a romantic weekend with your boyfriend/girlfriend if you want some intimacy or privacy. Cesar Hotel is a bit far from London Stansted Airport, you have to count at least 2 hours an a half to reach Croydon which means the express-train to "Tottenhan Hale" (45min), then the subway, Victoria Line to Victoria station (20min), then the train to East Croydon at platform 15 until 19 (15min) and at last the bus nr 64 or 198 to the hotel (10min). I must say the connections are not so bad but if you have a lot of suitcases then it is a bit unhandy.

If you look for a cheap and basic place and don't mind the rather remote location, you will get a reasonable room that is definitely cleaner than most places in this price range. The self-service breakfast is, again considering the price, quite reasonable and the overall impression is that some effort is made to maintain a minimum standard.I would not exactly spend my honeymoon there but all in all the place is ok. It would take very little to improve the decoration of the room, particularly a lampshade.

Clean, big rooms, tv, WiFi, big kitchen, nice staff. The location wasn't that great, pretty far away from London city center.

Excellent location, staff very friendly helpful nothing to much trouble especially Millie, who was lovely and really went out of her way to make the stay as pleasent and enjoyable as possible!! Thank you Millie. The only complaint if any would be regarding breakfast, Cheese and Ham ought to be included in the menu as an addition to toast jam and fruit etc, as this is always included in a continental breakfast. Other than that had a enjoyable stay, would definately recommend and stay there again in the future!!

Very nice little hotel. Seems that a private house was converted into a hotel. The staff was very nice and provided me with all I needed. I even had free wifi there. It is a quiet location and the next bus station is about 10 minutes away (by foot). Although one may miss the luxuriousness of a big hotel I would definitely stay here again.

Wanted a budget place to stay at short notice within easy reach of central London. Cedars House Hotel is a simple but spotless guest house on a side road a few bus stops north of East Croydon railway station. Trip into Victoria station took me 35 minutes. Self service continental breakfast. My room at the front was large, had coffee/tea machine and large tv. Shared bathroom. But, for the room price, couldn't grumble.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel slipped on the basics, such as supplying a plug for the sink in my room and general cleanliness.

Closer to Londen then we thought. bus stops 100 meters from the hotel. you take the bus to the station (10 min.) then you take a train to London bridge(first stop, about 15 min.) and you're already in the city center! Croydon is also a nice place to shop and walk around. besides that, the people in the hotel were very friendly and helpfull. And the hotel was pretty clean. Shower was very small, but on the other hand; there were three showers we could use. So no long waiting times.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. I appreciated being able to rent a "dedicated" single room , rather than having to hire a double room as a single. I was impressed that halfway through my stay the linen was automatically changed without my having to ask! It was not as near to East Croydon station as I had calculated from the on line map. It is very close to the bus stop for a very convenient bus service, but one has to catch a bus to take a train!

The staff was friendly, the rooms were very clean, and there was never a wait for the shower or bathroom. The location was a bit of trek from the tube station, but that makes for more exercise.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The whole hotel was super clean. Being able to have a do-it-myself breakfast at 6:00am was a real plus. No complaints, quiet room as requested...TV In room was an unexpected pleasure, also the super large bath towel! Real value for money

The staff was helpful and friendly; the hotel is clean and simple. For 40 pounds, a great deal. A quiet neighborhood, shops and laundry nearby. It is at the end of the overground line, about 45 minutes from central London; plus a 15 min walk or a couple of bus stops. But if you are going to buy a day pass anyway, it does not add to the cost. Same 8.50 for off-peak.
