It was so cold and I couldn't sleep till midnight. Felt I was in a Freezer.
plenty of choice for food as very little else around it, staff very friendly.
room a little tired , could do with a make over and a little over priced at £45 p/p/night with no breakfast.
For the price and purpose, the place was ideal
Room was comfortable
Walking through a public bar and reception at the bar. Decor was shabby. No breakfast facilities considering the cost of the room
The staff were very friendly
Tatty decoration. It was very noisy. Friday night live music which can be heard everywhere although they do warn one of this. Located in the social housing area of Penarth. Troublesome customer couple in the bar. Genrally requires massive refurbishment to justify the price. The Radisson Blu in Cardiff city is cheaper so is the Marriot and many others.
The room itself was surprisingly nice, three single beds, clean good bathroom.
Hard to find our way in, breakfastisn't included and for the location and facilities it isn't particularly great value I don't think. When we checked out at 10am on Satursday morning there was no one around at all and we had to give our keys to the cleaner.
staff were very friendly, wide range of beverages, plenty of parking, dog friendly.good checking out time.food looked good but we didnt get chance to eat there.
nutty drunken local people drinking in the bar, on lady kept kissing us and wouldnt leave us alone and was the same with other customers, another man trying to get drinks from us,i know its not the places fault but i was dreading going for a drink on the second night in case they were there.the bathroom i think needs updating it looks a bit grubby
Relaxed atmosphere. Friendly, helpful staff.
convenient for venue. parking.
Room very 'tired' with one of the curtain tie-backs missing, leaving a hole in the wall, bathroom door sticking, toilet-roll holder loose and hanging at a very jaunty angle and one wobbling, creaking bed. Very expensive for room in a pub, on a very busy main road.
Nothing very much. It was close to where we wanted to be in Penarth. The staff were polite, and helpful with bags
We were warned that music would play until 11pm. It went on long after 12pm. Our room wa directly above the music. Beds uncomfortable. Cost - to the hotel £50 per night, but our price to Booking.com £70 per night was extortionate
Clean, functional room. Good atmosphere in pub. Decent food and drinks.
Close to wedding. 3 rooms available.
No breakfast offered when booking. Tired decor.
Good location to start point of cycle ride
Could not accommodate breakfast request for an early (08:00) start! Noise from party in hotel bar until 01:00 in morning - not good before a cycle race!
Travelling alone as a woman, apprehensive re dining alone in evening. However, staff made me feel at ease stright away, and had no issues sitting alone to eat or enjoy a drink. Really good value for money, friendly service. Would recommend. Thankyou
Nothing i could fault. Did have front bedroom which was noisy with windows open. However didnt bother me as used to main road outside my home.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Noisy disco downstairs and poor insulation between our floor and the one above.
Everything for me was just fine. Penarth is a really attractive quiet place just down the road from a major city.
This was a Friday night and a band played from about 8.45 to 11.30pm. This is the one and only reason I might not return.
Staff were polite, helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The room was very clean
Came for the rugby final - my brother and I found the staff, facilities, friendliness of staff brilliant ** Will recommend to all :)
Good access to Llandough hospital. Private carpark. Excellent service on arrival. Good freshly cooked meals. Very helpful when we needed to stay on ,but could not be accomodated, so landlord found us alternative accomodation close by in Penarth.
Stayed during the week, no noise. No problem staying with children. Easy parking. Access to car park easy. Bar downstairs very convenient. Good food at night. Friendly staff. We were very pleased with our stay and would book again.
No breakfast. (But this was clearly stated on the booking).
had sandwiches they didn,t have butter just been put on a plate no garnish very plain bedroom ok bathroom was ok the end of the bath had durt or somthing
Good pub grub
Staff were very pleasant as a solo female traveller felt very much at ease. Highly recommend. Food was fantastic.
Slamming doors from other guests
Staff (and customers alike) very friendly
Nothing we didn't like
The approach to the rooms from the bar was very dirty with badly stained carpet. On entering our room however it seemed OK but as we stayed we noticed more and more the dirty skirtings and floor tiles. The room was not made up properly. For £60 per night we were very unhappy and will definitely not stay there again. We would have left early if we had not already paid up front which we don't normally do, but as accommodation in Penarth was very difficult to find last week we took a chance. No breakfast is served until Saturday and Sunday, but even then we saw no sign of it being served. Bad experience all round. Definitely not suiitable for anyone disabled. Access to rear car park was via fire escape when the pub was closed or a long walk round the block from front access.
