Staff were always happy to help you out, they also let us check in early as we arrived 4 hours before the check in time. Gave us plenty of info on how to get around the city on public transport as well. Curtains didnt block that much light during the night, the problem was empasized as they have bright lights pointed at the building all through the night. |

The hotel was very clean and tidy. The staff very helpful. The breakfast was great too. You fill in a form the night before, and they cook you what you've ordered the previous night! What a lovely touch! Not within walking distance to the main city area. You need to catch a bus into town but for the price and the feel and comfort of this hotel, it seemed a fair trade off! |

Friendliness of the staff, location, general ambience and decor, the hotel building itself, comfortable rooms and facilities, willingness to assist/help guests. If you are a light sleeper, noise from people movements up and down the stairs or to and from their rooms late at night might be a hassle. |

The hotel owners were very accommodating given a unique circumstance of mine. I had to modify a few aspects to my reservation just before my arrival, and they made every effort to assist me despite the certain inconvenience to them. They were clearly interested in ensuring the well-being of their guests. The breakfast was as good as everyone had reported in previous customer reviews, and the distance from the city center proved to be very manageable via the city's cheap, frequent and efficient bus system. |

The hotel was lovely; the owner and staff were friendly; the breakfast was lovely and fresh. A faster, more reliable internet connection would have been good as it kept going off, but that's me being picky. |

stayed at end of October for 3 nights.Renovated historical, charming house, stayed on 1st floor room(not at street level-good).airy rooms with very high ceilings, comfortable to max for 2 people.Beds and furniture were kept in 'old' style. Bathrooms updated to contemporary hotel standard(shower cabin, mirrors, heated towel rack but the sink was 'historical').very quiet location on residential side street, few minutes walk from high street. Free access to the deskop computer in the bar for all guests.Small very contemporary decorated restaurant with good scotish accented menu. The bar area has an adjusted room with real fireplace giving a feeling of home far away from home do not recommend for people who do not like to clime steep steps(no lift-preserves the historical charm) between floors.Personally most of the hotel rooms are located on 1st floor so this is not a big issue, |

The room was very clean and the location was off the main street but close to good bus service. Noise was a very big problem from room to room. Also, the noise from the downstairs lobby and the lobby doors slamming during the night made a good nights sleep almost impossible. |

The hotel is very well decorated in a modern style. The bedrooms were very clean and well decorated. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Access to the city by bus was easy. The house rules were slightly bizarre. We had to order what we wanted for breakfast the night before but when it came to getting the breakfast we had to wait half an hour while others who arrived later than us got theirs as soon as they arrived. And on Sunday we had to wait till 9:45 before we could check out. Guess that's because it's a small family run hotel. Oh - and the toilet was really difficult to flush and took ages to refill. Oh - and the bed was not very comfy. But apart from that - we enjoyed it. |

The staff were excellent! Friendly and accommodating. The food was great too. I had a small issue with my room (being a bit bright) after the first night and the owner trawled the city to find me a eye mask which awaited me on my pillow when I returned that night. I can't imagine another place I've stayed (and I've been to many places) where I've had such conscientious hosts... would definitely go back... |
