We like the food.
We are disappointed with the spa area.
Staff were fantastic. Facilities clean and excellent. Hotel and surrounding area beautiful.
I would say that the room we stayed in was more of a 3 star or 4 star at push. Lampshade by bed was broken, chairs looked like they needed a good clean, no bathrobes in room. Drainage hole in the middle of the bathroom floor for the shower. Windows were filthy. Could do with a bit of a makeover in the room.
The facilities in the reception and foyer were impressive. High praise for the receptionist who was extremely helpful during a very difficult stay. Good service at the Olive Tree during evening and breakfast
On checking in had to wait an age for our bags very disappointing. Very disappointed with the bedroom looked very tired. Fittings above desk were all loose and poorly fitted. Bedding looked tired carpets marked and dirty and also found a pair of tights from the previous occupant on the floor under the bed.
Swimming pool & the food
The free car park to faraway& uphill
The room ! The food! The service at dinner ! The view from our room
Queuing for our very late 4pm check in .. and queuing for breakfast
Large room, bed and bathroom (deluxe king). Great facilities (the adventure golf is great). Decent size pool (20m). Food was good but not excellent.
It's not what you'd describe as an 'elegant' hotel due really to the enormous size of it but clean and good value overrall.
We always get good service at the Celtic Manor. Staff are very helpful and polite. Nothing is too much trouble. All areas are well kept and beds are comfortable. Great choice of food in restaurant and the bar menu is also good. We have stayed several times before and will continue to do so
Very much enjoyed the scenic surroundings, loved the relaxing spa facilities and the surprise upgrade to the ambassador suite. Breakfast was a great range and tasty. Overall a top class experience. Thank you. Will definitely return again.
The room service was slow and the dinner (ordered from room service) wasn't value for money.
I love the spacious feel of the reception area with restaurant and bar, and the natural beauty of the location
I think parking should be free to hotel guests
The pool facilities were well below standard for a 5 star resort. No extra towels in changing rooms. Water from the jets in Jacuzzi was cold. Drain smell in changing rooms. No robes. No access to drinks/café from pool side. No water available after using sauna.
The staff were the most helpful and friendly that I have come across for a long time , nothing was too much trouble and every request or enquiry was greeted with a smile. Came up for personal reasons but can't wait to get back for some R & R
It would be difficult to criticise any part of our stay.
Balcony with views , staff helpful and welcoming especially the gentlemen taking the bags very friendly and funny , nothing not to like will be visiting again for sure
Large, but very welcoming hotel with plenty of activities on offer. Staff were helpful and friendly, and concierge staff very knowledgeable. Whilst we visited the hotel at the height of the summer season and it was busy, we still had a most enjoyable stay! Our 8 year old son keeps asking when we can go back!
Spa Facilities Value for money
lovely large room with a great view over golf course very comfortable large en-suite
Lovely setting, nice spacious room good bathroom, great views. Nice breakfast
Bed very soft, pillows uncomfortable, with only equally uncomfortable spare pillows in wardrobe - expected greater choice in high quality hotel .
Everything about the stay was fantastic .
Everything was perfect with exceptional staff
A lovely location with great facilities. The restaurant waiting staff were true professionals. Excellent service and very polite. Lovely gym and spa. A very relaxing time.
We found our room very dusty which was a small problem as my husband is asthmatic. There were no bathrobes in our room. I called reception 3 times and after a 3 hour period they still hadn't arrived. It took a trip to reception to sort it.
1) Bar staff extremely helpful - we arrived at 10 pm and all restaurants had closed but the bar staff got us room service menu in the bar which was appreciated 2) Reception staff at 10 pm very helpful yet we could not extend our stay due to bank holiday weekend and the property was full 3) excellent buffet breakfast
1) Room 1067: Bath tub enamel had two small chips, which easily can be camouflaged with white enamel paint 2) Golf charges are outrageous £122/-!!!
To begin with a bad start did not have our reservation at rafters but made it up to us with free drinks and what a lovely meal and excellent service
The resturant did not have our booking but we definitely booked and also the breakfast was very disappointing
The facilities are excellent, rooms are well equipped and the bed was very comfortable.
The price of food in Merlins is expensive, £4 for a portion of chips! Don't get me wrong its nice, but its not worth the prices they charge, some of the serving staff were not able to understanding accents.
Superb spa facilities Great food and variety of eating options
Not having a bedside light on both sides of double bed. Signs from motorway should be improved
Service very good, family rooms comfortable, food excellent
Bar area not kept clean, having to pay for parking for two nights, had confirmed a pre booked late check out only to arrive to find it had not been commuted to check in, long queue to be seated for breakfast.
