Efficient staff, completing their tasks with a smile.
As my wife has a disability, free car park is too far from resort hotel. Underground parking is expensive.
This was our first visit. Everyone was helpful and took time to explain things.
Everything was first class Service with a smile Good food , and a sunny weekend !!
This was our 2nd visit to the resort ... We love the resort and made the most of the facilities throughout our stay!!! The room and breakfast was superb ...can't wait to visit again!!!
The prices in the bar
The staff were very attentive The main reception area was really nice
The bed was uncomfortable The room was a bit tired and in need of decorating
Love the pool and jacuzzi
Didnt like being billed for someone elses drinks in the olive tree resturant, especially as we made it clear on checkin that we did not require a dinner reservation. (turned out to be a very old drinks tab for a previous guest! ) The £15 overnight car parking charge (up by 50% in the last year) is beginning to look like a deal breaker. In two corners of the room, either side of the sliding door to the balcony, the carpet was rank, black and well in need of both cleaning and.or replacement. All told, most unfortunate, especially as we know the resort rather well.
Good for golfers
Reservation department cancelled booking due to their misunderstanding fortunately Booking.com sorted out the problem after we were asked to leave the hotel!
Front desk staff were shocking!! Rude is an understatement! Lifts weren't working and I had to ring and find out we're the stairs were (slightly worrying if there was a fire very badly sign posted) and no one offered to help with the suitcase and 2 bags I had and no apology, I also couldn't find my way out on the stairs and no one anywhere to be seen directing do I also saw a store room and an electrical room
I do feel for a 5'star hotel IT needs a bit of tlc the room was a little scruffy dust on lights no dressing gowns in wardrobe had to ring house keeping and it's a 5 star it should all be there !!
All I can say is,the nicest hotel me and my wife has had the pleasure of staying in,will return soon.
Very efficient and pleasant staff.Excellent room and very good breakfast.
The whole of the facility is properly spaced and well presented, with a variety of activities to satisfy a wide range of participants, but also sufficient quiet corners for peace and quiet
Breakfast excellent, lovely hotel, attentive staff
Bedroom bit 'worn' in places, £15 to park overnight bit of a rip off given the cost of the room.
Great room comfy bed first class food. In the restaurants both at dinner and breakfast. Little pricey but would recommend if you are not on a tight budget
One afternoon a member of staff entered my room after a short knock on the door, whilst I called to show my presence, this was to no avail as he entered the room whilst I was not fully dressed. Very disappointed with the standard of the meals. My wife and I checked out a day earlier than anticipated/paid for
Hotel was packed but we barely noticed other guests. Didn't use the Spa as were down to watch the Wales v Ireland game at the Millennium Stadium. Similarly, didn't try out the restaurants but breakfast was good.
Given there was such a demand for taxis to Newport Station at 12-1pm, it would have been helpful if Dragon Taxis or the hotel had organised a couple of buses rather than have so many people waiting for taxis.
Staff are very attentive
Luke warm buffet meals both evening and breakfast. Would expect waiter service only in a 5* hotel
Spotless pool area, steam, sauna and changing rooms.
Rooms too dark, need more lights. Also rooms not as clean as they should be. eg. Behind the door in the bathroom had some blood on it and a lot of dirt. The kettle was so dirty it was unusable but was replaced without a problem.
The room was excellent and the grounds extensive
No bad experience but the main car park is some distance from the hotel
Accommodation was very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and the best part of our stay.
No one warned us that we would have to pre-authorise a further £50 over the cost of the hotel, just in case. Felt this showed a lack of trust in their customers when they already have your card details. Disappointed the receptionist we dealt with wasn't Welsh and had difficulty understanding her as she was eastern European.
Every little detail covered everywhere
Breakfast buffet, lovely but fried eggs and bacon dry due to the way they are served
Paying for parking
The facilities - spa amazing. Lovely lounge areas. Views from top floor rooms. Bathroom.
Room tired. No personal service - in fact staff hovering over me to leave as I finished breakfast and blasphemed as I went past! Charge for indoor Car Park. No signs as you drive up that you can park for free outside!
