Warm welcome, very organised with minibuses to take you to other of their restaurants. We changed rooms because we could hear the other people next door through the door which linked the two and the staff were very helpful. Too big for our taste, poor service in some restaurants, waited too long for bill as at end of evening all staff just disappeared! Always had to queue for breakfast.

We have loved coming to the Celtic Manor because it suits our family. It only takes 2 hours to drive to it. Once there the facilities are great and some of the staff are fantastic. The buffet breakfast is delicious and offers a fabulous variety. Having been 5 times over the last couple of years (and twice in the last month) sadly we felt this time that things were beginning to slip. The main issues we had were: 1. the standard of service in the Forum Cafe and the Lodge were amateur to put it mildly 2. we have 3 children, 2 ten year olds and a 6 year old. We were told repeatly about having 2 adults in the pool at all times with them. There is a sign saying that over 8's are fine to be on their own but because we have a 6 year old that negated that sign! Whilst I understand safety issues regarding pools we have never had this before and we began to stress instead of relaxing! 3. whilst the room was very clean, the maintenance was not great, the taps in the bathroom were very loose and the strings for the curtains were broken. 4. The jacuzzi in the main pool area was out of order, last time we came the jacuzzi was out of order at the Lodge pool. Sadly, I think that it's time to find somewhere new.

Buffet system for evening meals. Pool layout and facilities The games room, when we found it, was very disappointing with one broken table tennis ball, no ball for the table football and another game out of use. Very isolated spot for children to get to and use. We got completely lost trying to follow the woodland walks!

Very clean and spacious, with an emphasis on all things Welsh. Excellent food. The cafe sign said "food all day" and underneath it read 12 until 10.30 so had to wait until 12 to order then found we had to wait almost an hour for a sandwich, chips and a salad! Attended a dance for around 600 people and there were sometimes only 3 bar staff- had to wait ages!!!Our satnav seemed to bring us in to a back entrance which wasn't well signposted and we ended up spending half hour longer trying to find it.

The waiting staff in the crown were very helpful, friendly and efficient. The rooms where not clean to the expected standard on arrival. The service due to the high numbers was very slow and in one particular visit to the bar we was not served.

Wonderful facilities and great venue for our party, and the children loved the playroom Everything fine. Only problem was at breakfast on Sunday morning we had a family table with members of our party coming and going, and it was very difficult to find someone to clear and relay the table, despite several requests and absolutely no shortage of staff. Also both mornings they forgot to bring coffee to the table.

Enjoyed the Xmas decorations. Outstanding. Staff very helpful and efficient. Bars and restaurants excellent. It was unfortunate that our friends were in an inferior room on the top floor. We were there to celebrate his special birthday and we found ourselves in a superior room. Very diificult to know the sort of room allocated when booking on the web.

Quality Hotel, so often stayed there on business, nice to see it as private guest. 1 year after Ryder Cup, hotel has a real feel of being rebranded as a "Resort" and very family friendly to catch that weekend market too. Many new outdoor/indoor facilities. Looks and feels a special place, Gleneagles of the south maybe, albeit without the weight of history. Well run place.

Excellent facilities. The staff generally were excellent and very attentive. The food in the restaurants was top quality. We ate in Le Patio and got top quality service and a varied menu. The location is very good, being close to the m4 but out of noise range. The bars, rooms, and facilitiers are all top notch. I was overcharged for a brandy (double not single). The waitress was very surly when the error was pointed out. We were not offered assistance withour bags on arrival. The buffet area in the Olive Garden Restaurant was too small and congested when eating there on the Saturday evening. They need a one way system.
