Score from 55 reviews Fabulous
Nice hotel with warm and friendly staff, lovely room (I was upgraded to single deluxe, and the room was spacious, with a large bathtub!) I asked for a quiet room and the room didn't face the main road.
Far from town centre but close to train station.
Very nice. Fresh cooked breakfast. Friendly staff.
Easy access to and from Rail Station and well placed for access to city centre
Friendly welcome and suggestions of where to visit in Cambridge, including Winter Fair which we had not been aware of. The hotel was very convenient to railway station, but without noise from trains.
Cosy room and friendly service
Central heating cut during the day, making the room very cold in winter
the service was excellent in both the restaurant and the front desk. Very comfortable beds. , good forceful shower !
the rooms are small but very adequately equipped, so not really a problem unless you intend to spend a lot of time in your room
5 minites walk to railway station, 10 minites walk to city center. Nice staffs, clean and comfortable bed and room. very good resturant, nice food and waiter/waitress, soups in dinner are nice, although I feel the soup salty once.
room door can not be locked from inside, cleaner try to enter room when I was lying in bed (in afternoon) twice. room is small, not comfortable when you sit in front of the desk because you cannot adjust the distance between chair and desk.
welcoming and a quiet hotel. Just a few minutes walk away from the city centre, the colleges and the river. staff were very friendly and helpful.
Not very modern and although very clean, furnishing décor a little tired. However a good shower and bathroom.
The hotel location was ideal for the railway station and very well presented. Staff were extremely helpful. Room was clean and suitably furnished. Breakfast (included) was one of the best we have had.
The bed had a tendency to 'move' as the castors were not lockable. A minor issue!
breakfast OK; car park good
Worn carpets; bedroom too hot; window could not be partially opened;verylimited selection of wine
Breakfast was very good Very close to train station
Booking not flexible, but thats a minor issue
Good location Friendly staff Good sized rooms
Lots of stairs A bit dated
The breakfast is good. Staff are very friendly.
there is no toothbushs and slippers there.it was so upset.
The hotel was located well.We were able to park our car and use the bus to get in and out of the centre.
The hotel seems slightly old fashioned and in need of a facelift, particularly the carpeting in the room and on the stairs. Didn't like having to climb stairs. When entering the hotel from the car park we thought it was dangerously close to the stairs to the basement.
Staff were efficient and sorted out quickly the fact that on the coldest day of the year so far the heating wasn't on at 5pm (window wide open too). An hour later it was very hot! Also changed a cracked cup. Efficient and smiley breakfast staff. Convenient parking.
All satisfactory just hotel is still in need of a refurb. Stayed before in a standard room and this time in a so called better room. The only difference was an elaborate curtain above the bed and the increased price. Tissues, biscuits would have been nice and I was surprised no alternative to dairy milk was available at breakfast. Also don't like being asked to sign to agree to pay for any damage incurred in the room, accidental or not. Never had this anywhere else but here
Helpful staff; good breakfast
Problems with hot water; we were told that pumps are old and need replacing
Comfortable bed and bedding; perfect temperature; no hotel smelsl! Fab cooked breakfast too. Decor, cleanliness etc. Very pleasant and helpful staff.
Bit tight getting into car park especially as on our arrival we met someone who was apparently unable to reverse!! Great car park once in, tho'!
Location was great. Pricing was ok compared to other places in area
Room service in the guidebook stated it was available until 11pm, we called at 1030 and was told it had finished at 10pm
Friendly Staff Good breakfast Dinner average with little choice
Long climb up 2 flights of steep narrow stairs to bedroom difficult with heavy case, no offer of help. Bedroom was small and cramped with a small double bed ok for one, difficult for 2 to be comfortable. The room was decorated with dark varnished doors and furniture with a fussy fabric thing behind the bed very dated. The location suffers from road noise and car alarms etc. Overall I would have not expected to pat £110 for this style and six it really is more like £60-75 at most, I have stayed in better appointed B&B's for much less.
Location - Easy walking distance of train station and city centre
On a fairly busy road, so some traffic and passing people noise - but to be expected.
The hotel location is good, close to Cambridge railway station, leisure include cinema, restaurants, supermarket, and town centre, walking distance. Two different kinds light in the bothroom, if you use the two light near the mirror, air sounds will not be coming, too keep room quiet. We have felt the hotel has cared for the guests many ways nicely.
The room is basically good enough to feel relax, but ideally if this hotel will be happy to prepare for a larger size bed for the guest in the future, the guests like your hotel much more. we have recognized that the hotel has developed themselves considering the guests positions.
The receptionist had a sense of humour and a human touch. We locked the keys in our room and left to go home with them. Difficult to do given the large key ring but we managed. My son left his glasses in his room. We had an amicable post stay postal swap!
Breakfast was fine but a bit boarding school-ish.
The bed, the large bathroom, the free wifi, the location
