The receptionist had a sense of humour and a human touch. We locked the keys in our room and left to go home with them. Difficult to do given the large key ring but we managed. My son left his glasses in his room. We had an amicable post stay postal swap!
Breakfast was fine but a bit boarding school-ish.
The bed, the large bathroom, the free wifi, the location
It was great to have just a short walk from the railway station. Nothing was too much trouble and all performed with a smile.
It must be my age, but I still balk at the notion of paying £100 per night for B+B. Luckily I wasn't paying!
Great parking facility. Great location. Comfy bed.
It was far too overheated in the room and entire hotel. So many stairs to get everywhere within the hotel. Not sure why my room was labelled deluxe
Very friendly staff, good location, nice rooms
Lovely stay in this hotel, very friendly staff, good meals in the restaurant, very clean, comfy beds, nothing negative at all.
Staff excellent, especially Simon, the manager, who was very helpful. It was an easy, flat walk into Cambridge, and we also walked to the football ground, leaving the car in the hotel car park. Even though our ground floor room was on the main road, we were not disturbed by noise at night.
Breakfast room was quite cramped, and some background music would have relaxed the atmosphere a bit - we have no complaints about the food though.
It was a 10/15 minute walk into the center of Cambridge. Hotel was clean and comfortable, although a little dated. We were at the back so it was quiet, Staff were friendly.
The Bar would have been better if it was upstairs in the lounge area. It was empty downstairs- so no atmosphere.
Good quality, warm and comfortable hotel, would recommend.
Good location, plenty of parking, friendly staff.
We were recognised. The Bathrooms appear to have been updated.
Larger bath towels would be a further improvement.
Staff were friendly, very close to the Train station and a 10/15 min walk into central Cambridge. Were allowed to leave luggage after check out.
Rooms were very dated. The front door is closed at midnight so had to wake up the owner to be let in which isn't really acceptable for a Hotel. Shower was weak.
Location for my purpose was good
Could've been cleaner
Wi fi Bed
Very poor breakfast. Poor range of cereals. No fresh fruit or yoghurt. Only industrial sliced bread. Tasteless scrambled egg. Breakfast room too small for number of guests. Very cramped. People queuing but nowhere to queue! Total lack of interest from checkout staff. Just handed bill with no enquiry about stay, no 'have a nice day'. A real rip off at over £100 for a single room.
Location (an easy walk to both railway station and city centre) and staff were lovely. Pleasant room and spacious bathroom. Very helpful reception lady. The problem with a poor course at dinner was resolved very well and the starter substituted with a different one. Full marks for sorting out the issue well. Very limited choice at breakfast was compensated by it being very nicely cooked.
"Bath" towels were tiny. Many hotels would have had those as hand towels. The room was a little overwarm for a good night's sleep and we find a standard double sized bed too small after our own king sized one. Avoid the soup on a Sunday ......
Good location Clean room
Wifi was _not_ working It was pretty cold in the room The shower was not convenient
Room size and comfort, breakfast, heating and shower, location.
A bit over-priced.
freindly staff at reception desk
noisy couple having sex
Comfortable bed. Clean. Good bathroom. Liked having a window in the bathroom for ventilation. Good location for walking to the college and the older parts of the town. Fun pub across the street. Good breakfast.
No places close to eat a late dinner, but not the fault of the Hotel, of course. Also, I'll mention there was no lift, but was not a problem for us.
Very close to the centre of Cambridge with ample parking. The hotel is very clean and the breakfast was OK but a little bland.
The bed seemed small and sagged quite a bit.
Good location as it was only a 10 - 15 minute walk to the city centre.
The standard double room was very small with not even enough space to pass each other. The ornate canopy and drapes over the bed were not in keeping for such a small room.
The close proximity to Cambridge centre and being allowed to leave the car in the car park after having checked out. A comfy and friendly hotel.
Breakfast was ok but choice limited. No grapefruit or yoghurts.
Too hot Restricted headroom with sloping eaves
very polite staff, good 3 star hotel, delivered what I expected for the standard.
A little on the expensive side for the standard delivered.
