The hotel is central and convenient to the train station. Rooms are adequate for a hotel of its age. Staff are friendly. Breakfast was lovely with very efficient, friendly and helpful staff. The key fobs for rooms and inconveniently large. Prices, of most Cambridge hotels, are higher than expected based on quality of provision and comparison to London.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. the food in the restaurant was excellent and they adapted dishes to suit individual preferences without fuss (and without notice!). There was adequate car parking and we were able to come and go as we wished. the facilities in the room were good. Some people may find the rooms old-fashioned but we liked that.

I was able to park my car. It is easy walking distance from the town (and the railway station for those who need it). The bed was comfortable and the bedding attractive. The bathroom was clean and modern with an efficient shower. It has free wi-fi. The breakfast was well cooked and the coffee good. The funiture and carpet in my room were a little tired. The room was up in the eaves so the head room was slightly restricted which would have been more of a problem if my husband had been with me. Although the breakfast was good I would have liked some fruit other than a whole apple, banana or orange.

We both felt the hotel was clean and staff friendly and professional, the bed was comfortable and room was nice and quiet The breakfast was good and overall we felt the hotel was good value for money The double room was small, I guess because this Hotel was origionaly a row of edwardian houses, the decor is slightly dated. The bathroom although large felt rather cold

I really liked the comfort and 'chintzy" feel of the place. Old world charm, good food and pleasant service at breakfast especially. Very nice to have a lounge to read the paper or sit and wait for friends. plenty of space and storage and helpful staff when we needed an iron and ironing board.

Convenient location, all right staff and clean bathroom. Free wifi if you need it. It's a good 15-20min walk to the centre but a short walk to the train station. Tiny rooms and no flexibility for having two single beds in a room. It's just slightly pricier than you would expect for a hotel of this location and quality.

This hotel was very close to the location of my business - and it is also very convenient for a trip into the city. The breakfasts were first class. I enjoyed perfectly poached eggs which tasted as if they'd just been laid. My room was clean and tidy but the decor was rather tired and dated which made the room feel very gloomy. Sadly, the dining area is below stairs and therefore rather claustrophobic. The hotel needs to be redecorated to bring it into the 21st century.

“Clean, comfortable and convenient for the town centre. Very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was excellent. Room clean and comfortable with a superb view over Parkers Park. !0 minute walk from railway station but has a large free carpark if you need it. (Most hotels in the city were charging residents up to £16 per night to park). We have stayed at other Best Western hotels and we are very pleased with the standards and the prices that this chain has to offer. Looking forward to our next visit.” Colin, Rochester |
