Excellent chef. Waiter very anxious to get things right; so much so I felt sorry for him; he's a perfectionist! Location opposite the Botanic Gardens was a plus for me. Hills Road is noisy at night. I'm not from a city, so I'm not used to noise.

Very friendly and helpful staff, free parking (unusual in Cambridge), the room was clean and bathroom was nice and seems quite new. The room was very small and is due a refurbishment.

The location of the hotel means walking to anywhere in Cambridge is straightforward. The restaurant offers good meals that are reasonably priced, and available without prior notice. Nothing - by normal standards the cost is high, but in Cambridge all hotels are expensive, and do not offer the value for money you would expect elsewhere.

Staff were very courteous and helpful. All accommodation facilities were fine. Good location. Easy parking close to the building. Ideal position for sight-seeing in Cambridge - a 10-minute walk to the city centre Decor and furnishing were a bit old-fashioned - sheets and blankets instead of duvets. Run away of water in bath/shower very slow

The position was excellent as easy walk into centre of Cambridge, it is near the station, opposite the botanical gardens and good restaurants within two to ten minutes walk. The management are friendly and helpful and the rooms are large enough to sit and chat comfortably .

We use the Centennial Hotel on a regular basis to book our colleagues in to who are visiting. Location wise it is excellent, very close to both the train station and the town centre. Staff are very helpful and deal with queries very quickly.

Room is convenient to Cambridge downtown. The room was clean and staff friendly. The breakfast wasn't the best. One day we were among the last guests but the poached eggs were overcooked. The dining room was crowded, probably because only 1 1/2 hours were allotted for breakfast, so all guests came at once. We had to wait for coffee --other couples after us had their meals and we still didn't have coffee. ....But, who chooses a hotel based on breakfast? The location to the downtown and rail station is a reason to stay there.

The receptionist was absolutely wonderful; she made me feel most welcome and she helped in in many ways, eg finding out a timetable or an adress for me. The room was cosy - although much smaller than the picture on the website would make you think. The bathroom was very clean and comfortable. I liked having a kettle in the room to be able to make some coffee or tea at any time. THe best thing about the Centennial is its location and its quietness. Only 5 min walk to the station, 10 min walk to the centre, just opposite the botanic garden and a nice pub 3 min further up the road - they even had live music, which was nice. At the same time it was absolutely quiet. One could here nothing from the outside: no cars, no trains - it ws as all silence. The hairdryer was placed a bit awkwardly and the water tabs were a bit old fashioned, and the beddings were a bit poor.

The hotel was just what we wanted when staying a night to explore cam ridge & visit our son who is training at the hospital. Easy walking distance to centre of city & oss to the botanical gardens. Clean & friend hotel . The decor & style felt 1950'S.

Staff were extremely helpful, bathroom was spotless. Thank you for lending us an iron and ironing board! Room was a little small, but there was an excellent walk-in cupboard which meant that the luggage was well out of the way. On day of departure be aware that there is limited room to leave luggage. Staff were really good though, and put most of it in their tiny office and basically worked all day surrounded by people's suitcases!

After reading several negative reviews about this hotel I was a little concerned about what to expect. I can only think that some people are never happy unless they are complaining. Our room was clean with all facilities in good order, incl' a good shower. Staff were pleasant and breakfast was excellent. I have stayed at many hotels worldwide and would have not problem recommending this hotel for a weekend break. My only negative comment would be the bed was only a double, which we found very small, there was ample room to put a kingsize in this bedroom!

The staff were very kind and helpful. They checked us in early and they looked after our bags for us on the day of departure until we had completed our business. This hotel is a mixed bag, some good aspects some not so good. Its a budget hotel so don't expect perfection. For us we found that the rooms were cramped.

The bathroom was excellant ,clean, with plenty of hot water.and the room was warm with central heating, . The room I found was a bit dingy and dated. Dark and badly lit, with overpowering dark wardrobes.was I was travelling alone and was offered no help to take my suitcase up the steep stairs. Not suitable for disable or older customers with problems getting up and down the stairs.

Good price, excellent location for train station and the room was fine and comfortable. Breakfast good, prompt service. The room was on the main road and this was very busy. The room was nice and warm and consequently we had the window open and the noise of the traffic was very loud. If I were to book again a then same hotel (which is very likely) I would certainly ask for a room at the back of the hotel.

“We were very impressed with the University Arms. It was centrally located so ideal for shopping and for eating and drinking. We booked early and got a good deal. The parking below the hotel was ideal as we had a lot of gear with our baby. We would love to come back and make the most of the bars in the hotel.” Robert, Stowlangtoft |
