Central Hotel  

EXcellent location, it is opposite Birkenhead Central station; I left a laptop charger in our room and the staff were very helpful when I wanted to recover it. Very convenient for the Mersey ferry and wartime German U-boat museum.

ON the dearer side for us (a very mature -- well into our seventies couple ) maybe not for some folks.

Good location close to the Woodsite Ferry Terminal and Birkenhead Central Station. Good Value for Money. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Rooms are in need for renovation. Overpass leading to Mersey Tunnel is right outside the hotel which makes some rooms noisy during the night. Curtains do not keep the street lights out, which makes it hard to sleep at night.

Everything. Ive stayed here on 2 seperate occasions now as i have friends in and around the area. Its in a prime location with budget prices. Always friendly staff and clean.

Close to underground station, staff very welcoming and good value food

The food and service was very good, all of the staff that I met were friendly and helpful, nothing was to much trouble for them.

The traffic noise, but being close to a major road not much the hotel could do about it.

Hotel Central is very clean and gast friendly. The housekeeping was great and front desk try always to be helpful. I was very happy on Central Hotel.

The only thing what I little don't like it is to close to street and it can be to loud in the night.

Comfortable with very helpful staff. The accomodation is fairly basic but clean and comfortable. An excellent place for a visit to merseyside as it is only a couple of hundred yards from the mersy tunnel. Secure parking anf late night access.

There was quite a bit of traffic noise but that was to be expected in that location. The loud music from the private function was a bit disturbing but stopped by 11 pm so not a real problem.

Rooms to front of the hotel face onto a main road and overpass so noisy traffic all night - lorries moving past throughout the night.

It is well located and efficient

The staff were very friendly from the Reception area right through to the bar and restaurant. The room was ideal for our needs as we were going home to Belfast and needed a convenient stop over for one night in order to travel to the ferry terminal which was less than a five minute drive away. I would definitely use the hotel again and most probably for a longer break as it is very convenient to the train station.

Not the most luxurious of hotels but considering it was built in 1939 and nothing much seems to have been done to it since we found it adequate for our needs.

If you are going to Camell Lairds on business it is perfect. A clean bed for the night. Basic hotel for a good nights slep. Very good breakfast.

Its just a very old hotel

The hotel itself was run down and the furniture was very dated

It is beyond belief that this hotel has not been closed by Inspectors. Nothing in the room worked. The electrics were a health hazard. All aspects of furnishings were grubby. The whole Hotel looked as if it had not been refurbished for the last 30yrs. It is obviously being run on a shoe string. I feel sorry for the 3 Staff who seem to be running the place as best they can. A dump!! Be warned.!!

Nothing - hotel needs a total refit.
