Closeness to town centre
Everything was perfect for me
Location was ok, car parking on site was useful although very tight.
Although clean, did have a smell of aftershave on the pillow of the bed I was in so I suspect it wasn't changed from the night before! Bathroom and Shower was extremely small. Twin room very basic and for £112 for one night I thought it was very poor value for money, but being in Cheltenham aimed at Race Goers who pay the earth just to get in to the races not surprised Hotel's (not sure this qualified as one!) can charge what they like really.
Room was comfortable, I would stay again!
Wi fi was a big let down practically non existence in room...
Good location for town centre
Building tired and shabby. Ensuite smelt of drains!
don't have lift
We were offered an upgrade on arrival. Thought great and only seconds away around the corner. it actually took 4-5 mins to get there and on entering the block and climbing the 3 flights of stairs, could smell cannabis. I mentioned it to my colleague and we proceeded to the room. it wasn't anything special and couldn't put up with the thought of other residents smoking anything especially cannabis. on the way down the stairs we could now smell air freshener.....................they obv heard us!! We did a u turn and walked back to reception. on getting back to reception we asked for our original rooms, bit of a nightmare as reception had given them away earlier in the day. then found two rooms so we went upstairs. I had already asked for an iron and ironing board and was told it was in the room. it wasn't and I used my own phone to phone the hotel as there aren't any phones in the rooms. to be told that I would have to go back to reception to collect as the receptionist was on her own. Not a very pleasant experience and wouldn't use them again!
Clean and convenient with friendly staff
We booked a twin room and were given a 'family' room with a double bed and sofa bed which was not long enough for an adult and was made of plastic and therefore no bedding stayed on it, when set up it was a steep slope and no flat surface, so no consistent sleep. Hotel situated on busy street, but not hotel's fault of drunks at 2.00am in morning, but due to uncomfortableness of sofa.. was awake to hear them!!
The hotel is perfectly located, and very comfortable. I have stayed here for 6 weeks know and have found know real problems with it.
The internet does not work round the whole hotel, and even when this is pointed out nothing has been done about it. 6weeks down and still not working.
Walking distance of town centre Friendly staff Lovely room decor and facilities. Excellent shower
Mattress sank down too much for my liking. Shower floor filled up with water too quickly - drain needs unblocking
Central location for local attractions.
The apartment would benefit from new white bed linen & towels. Brown ones sure ugly & dated.
The bedrooms were very small and scruffy. The bedcovers and towels were very old and in need of replacement. There was no mirror, no bin and only one bedside table. The whole place needed bringing up to a reasonable standard.
The hot water shower, comfortable bed, milk and biscuties laid on for arrival, central for high street and shopping.
The poor decor with a scruffy dirty looking piece of netting hanging on a piece of string at the window, little work surface for making tea, no chair to sit on, front elavation unwelcoming and in need of a fresh coat of paint poor parking facilities, noisy room needs double glazing.
Nice staff members I met or talked to like George, Annabelle and Others. Close proximity to M&S and Sandford Park.
The bathroom/ toilet too small. TV position to the bed position strain to the neck. No microwave cooking utensils, I reported malfunctioning kettle and a light bulb off but not replaced
Good big room, fridge and a TV that worked
I was near the front door, & people were inconsiderately noisy on their way in.
We were kept awake till 4-40 am the room was boiling the staff did not think about a young child in the room as was put in room 5 above the front door with music from the pub and the kebab house ..after staff left front door was banging and key presses making noise not a thought for family ok if on a night out but not for families and once complaining brushed off by the manager and not even a follow up call even though she promised after I had called her as she told me that she wouldn't of called till the afternoon she also spoke about the amount of complaints that she had about the noise in the so called hotel however she said that it's a city centre hotel i get that so they could use the back rooms for families never stayed in a place so bad for families im not a person who makes complaints but was told that I should of gone to reception and of asked to be moved to an apartment that they have ..I am totally discusted with the so called manager for not responding to a customer issue and now unfortunately would have to say to people NOT to use this hotel if you have a family
Friendly staff, I booked two double rooms the same night as a last minute trip and got a whole flat with two rooms. The flat is really comfortable and spacious. safe parking, quiet and 2 blocks from the city center.
Nothing, very good
Good idea to have cooking facilities in the room.
Wifi seems to be good Staff is polite
I booked the central hotel but when I arrived They said I have to go to another place that is apartment that looks totally different from the photos in the website. We have to live in underground room that dark, quite dirty. We really feel not comfortable and disappointed about this hotel.
Beds were very comfortable.
The washing machine & drier did not work. This was important to us with young children on the road. We asked them to sort the issue and they did not come back to us at any time and were not bothered to make this issue a priority in anyway by getting weekend tradespeople in to help which would have been possible. Nor did they offer us an alternative means to do our washing or drying.
Location, facilities, clean & comfortable
The people in the room above weren't considerate with the noise levels which lasted most of the night- poor sound insulation or just inconsiderate guests?
On Saturday the 20th September myself and a friend stayed at the Central Hotel for one night (booking number 340.216.887). On arrival we checked into the room which was room 8 and instantly asked if we could change rooms due to the noise from the road, at which point we were told there were no other rooms available. We spent the evening out in Cheltenham and came back to the room at 1 am. I got into bed at which point the bed collapsed and broke. I did not see the point of coming back down the 2 flights of stairs as we had already been told no other rooms were available. I therefore tried to sleep on the floor. The noise level at this hotel was unacceptable. There was significant road noise as well as the room below us where we could hear 2 males talking and laughing loudly all night. Some of the night these males were hanging out of the window smoking. This went on all night until 9 0 clock the following morning. The smoke was coming into our room as we had to have our window open as it was very hot on the top floor and there was no AC or fan. This has been the worse experience I have had at a hotel. There was no indication from the website that we would be on a busy noisy road.
Close to KFC
Booked a twin room for 2 men working away. Got a double bed and bed settee with no bedding had to ask for some bedding then had to make bed up
for the price breakfast would be nice
the location was fine
There are no wash up facilities despite having crockery, cutlery a microwave etc, theres no sponge, cloth, washup liquid, teatowel, nothing. There are zero amenities ie restaurant, bar etc. Parking was difficult we ended up paying for street parking due to lack of car park space, whilst their own company car was parked in it. We asked if they could let us know if a space became free he said no and laughed at us. Our shower leaked and the toilet barely flushed the door to the make shift bathroom didnt even close properly. We reported this and nothing was done about it. Its not a hotel its poor self service and they also self declared themselves as 3 stars when they are not even 1 star. The fact they don't have a refund policy is ridiculous and im pretty sure its because they know what they offer is poor!!! It is well overpriced and they should be done under trade description act.
