Ease of getting into centre for shopping. Big room.
Room was in a basement, down narrow steps. Good job I was able to negotiate them.
Clean and spacious - good value for money. Hotel parking can be arranged which is similar cost, but more flexible than the Portland Square UKCP site.
Because of the parking isseus in Cheltenham, parking for initial reception was a challenge, but once installed the reception team were very helpful.
warm welcome, well equipped room, really quiet considering central location.
rather pushy housekeeping staff on departure, two flights of stairs with baggage was a bit awkward!
How close it was to the town centre.
The fact that we had to wonder around in the dark looking for where our room was and how rude the staff member was he had really bad attitude. Also we had to pay 10 to park our car which was not stated on the website. Defoo will not be staying here again!!!!
Lovely period room, fridge, cutlery and crockery supplied. Hot shower, clean throughout. Exceptional value without lacking care.
Don't expect to park anywhere nearby for under £12 overnight Staff unhelpful
Heating was an issue where it wasn't on when we arrived & apartment was freezing. One of the showers had poor pressure as well & hot water didn't last long.
The staff were friendly and the hotel is in a prime spot. The parking is limited but the manager told us where to find a cheap one just down the road, then a space opened up at the hotel and they told us about it. The apartment was very well equipped and had a balcony. it was really nice.
We booked a room for 3 and a room for 4. It turns out that the room for 4 was in a separate building on another street and although it was lovely and well equipped, it had thin walls. We paid for late checkout but were awoken by the cleaners downstairs in the next apartment. The beds were rather firm too.
Excellent location less than five minutes to city centre good hotel parking
Room smelled of drains Management immediately changed rooms for them to investigate
The apartment, was very sizeable, and clean, beds was comfy.
Cleanliness impressed us straight away. We got exactly what was promised, everything was in a good working condition. We enjoyed our stay there and will go there next time again! Thank you to everybody who works there!
The location was great. Everywhere we wanted to go was within a ten minute walk of the hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly, the facilities were good and the hotel clean.
The bathroom smelt eggy. We were only there one night so it didn't bother us much, put any longer and it would have been a problem. On leaving, we reported it to the staff and they said they would have a look.
Free parking Friendly welcome Excellent room Well stocked with the things you need Comfy bed and room heat ideal
nice and comfortable
found nothing to dislike
Manager at Central Hotel was helpful and friendly
We were "upgraded" to an appartment with lock up parking but not a nice part of town. Flat was clean but staircase carpets were filthy from rubbish bags dragged down the stairs.
The staff were very helpful and pleasant.
No heating in our room during the night so was very cold. The shower was leaking onto tiles which was dangerous, the woodwork around the shower was rotting! Although the room wasn't overly expensive it was not up to standard and we were very disappointed.
Great apartment. Helpful staff.
Didn't stay in the Central Hotel which was extremely difficult to find (in a car). Was very stressed and paid extra for early check-in which I think at this time of year should be 12 p.m. anyway. Apartment was excellent however the stairwell was filthy :( full of stains on carpets and really grubby. Good value for money though.
The gentleman on at 5pm . who was the only member of staff who seemed to know what was going on and professional. Once all checked in hotel and apartments all really clean, good location.
after arriving at 11.30.(we knew we couldn't check in) they waited until we checked in at 5pm to tell us we were being moved to apartments. in the end we ended up in hotel and rest of our group in apartments.
Complementary upgrade to an apartment. Only needed it to sleep in but had enough facilities to enjoy a cup of tea and some TV. Clean through and through. Private and quiet. Aesthetic and modern. Right next to a Papa John's, who gave me 3 extra dips to top off a great stay.
WiFi did not work, authentication failure, possibly need to reset some settings. Had to hold power button in shower, which luckily required the amount of technique I had. There was a big spider in my room! But I got it out using a cup.
The electrician Daniel who had been sent to fix the boiler ( why not get a boiler engineer?)...and couldn't. He managed to get us moved to rooms that were warm. George the night porter who agreed for us to stay till 1 on the checkout day as we had had our time wasted so badly when checking in. Suggest he should find work with a company that actually cares about it's presentation and service as he clearly does.
We were notified of ‘upgrade ‘ 24hrs before arrival. Could not find ‘flat’ two streets away. No signage, no directions, it was pouring with rain. Asked receptionist for help - could not come as she was only member of staff Found flat....Cold and grubby door broken and not repaired, filthy stairs, threadbare carpet. Smells of cigarettes, picture is askew, cracked tile near toilet, grout missing, carpets falling apart, heating not working, light not working in extractor. Shelf above falling down, unhygienic cut marks all over work surface. No instructions for central heating.Wall paper coming off walls, blood on the carpet in hallway.Called to get heating engineer… girl ( "Jess" in some other office somewhere who had no idea who we were or where we were)said one would be on the way. When I called back later, she put me on hold, i called again her colleague("Annabelle") told me she had just hung up and gone home. Heating engineer arrived ..had no idea what was wrong with boiler and got us moved. We had waited for 3 hours to get it sorted, after a 4 hour drive. Most appalling service and facilities we have ever come across. We are in the business as a family and would be deeply ashamed to run a place like this. Sort it out!
Loved the actual apartment
The tv only had 5 channels that worked, wifi didnt work, no parking
Wifi was good! And the bed.
They didnt even changed my towells and clean my room the first two days but could charge me 60£ on my card for "evidences" of smooking. Im traveling a lot and never seen that! The location: in front of a kebab, i was in the room 5 and was hearing people screaming, fighting, almost every nights i was there.
The staff were friendly and very helpful.
Other guests were rather noisy, no fault of the hotel. Shared bathroom meant they had to leave their room, slamming the door and having loud conversation outside their room. Would stay again, without hesitation
Close proximity to town centre.
Sofa was shot. Needed replacing.
An excellent base for contractors. All amenities within walking distance.
Not suitable for moaning Minnie's.
