Food, service, cleanliness, staff
Its peaceful setting even when close to a well-used A road.
Maze-like corridors, not always sufficiently signed.
Facilities and the determination of staff to meet our needs
Good breakfast in dining room overlooking golf course at back of hotel
No immediate request for payment or authorisation of credit card
Swimming pool small, no ancillaries.
We stayed here for a short break for Yeovilton Air Show and to visit Bath. The staff here were friendly and helpful from start to finish and the hotel is beautiful and clean. Breakfast was one of the best we have had in a hotel and the facilities especially the Spa were fantastic and the grounds are well kept.
Room was extremely hot at night and music from a wedding kept us awake til midnight on the Sunday night.
Staff at reception were excellent and catered to our needs.
Food service closed at 9 pm and lack of bar staff whilst attending a function. Seemed to forget their normal paying guests. .
Very friendly staff. Lovely setting with view over golf course for breakfast and a nice garden. Delicious breakfast!
Couldn't order food after 9 on Sunday evening. Beds very noisy - even without any extra exertion!!
Country atmosphere Plenty of parking space
Lack of space in bathroom to lay out toiletries. Distance to walk to bar and restaurant. No walk in facility to pool. No shower mat which is a necessity.
Views over the golf course Comfortable beds Good parking
Noise transfer between rooms Condensation in windows Poor reception
Variety of food in Bar very poor Easy chairs in bedroom stylish but extremely uncomfortable Chairs in lounge uncomfortable Bathrooms very small Soap dispensers in bathroom inaccessable (when you are in the bath no soap available?) When one opens bedroom windows flies etc come into room from over grown creepers on walls outside Golf course trees need pruning Sand in bunkers like Blackpool beach
I like the hotel, room, breakfast, staff. Very peaceful quiet hotel
Receptionist on arrival, location was a bit of a walk to town centre, restaurant menu at dinner was like an a la carte menu not enough choice and way too expensive
The way staff was so helpful and happy.
Lovely hotel well situated for a trip to Clarks Village. We booked a Deluxe Room and was very pleasantly surprised with the large room with modern décor and double shower. Breakfast the next day was very nice and staff were very helpful.
There was a faint smell of smoke in the bathroom when the extractor fan was on but it wasn't noticeable in the main bedroom even though room was non smoking.
Lovely location, friendly staff, good food, great room and views, nice clean gym with good equipment.
The bar could have done with updating, but it looks like that's in progress!
The room was comfortable and satisfactory
The decor and cleanliness of the hotel was not what I was expecting. A little disappointed.
We had such a delightful stay - the rooms were so comfortable and they were spotlessly clean.
Nothing to dislike!
The staff are always polite and friendly. The hotel is clean and tidy, the rooms I have stayed in have always been well decorated and furnished.
The noise of the washing machines at 3 in the morning underneath my room. I am a light sleeper.....
Was very happy with everything thanks
There was nothing to dislike
I liked the location for my visit to cheddar gouge and longleat. The facilities were clean and all staff very welcoming. Dinner was excellent with very pleasant staff. Pool, jacuzzi and sauna was a bonus on the booking deal we made.
Hard beds and poor shower in room
Lovely staffs Very pleasant in the breakfast room
nothing all great
The beds were very comfortable and we had a really good nights sleep. The hotel was quiet even though we had been warned that there were weddings over Easter. The room was soundproofed so as in other hotels you did not hear any other guests leaving early or arriving late. We did not use the pool or restaurant as we were out mostly as we had an anniversary party to get ready and attend.
Our room faced the showrooms so no really nice view. The toilet had a problem with the flush which might have been a problem if we had been in a lot but we reported it on leaving. We would have liked to be able to read in bed but there was no light over the bed head so the lighting was a little too dull and dark for us.
I thought breakfast was included (I think it should be for £100 per night) but this was an extra £15 each per day so we ate elsewhere.
All the hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I couldn't get the TV in my room to work so I mentioned it at front desk. It was fixed within 5 minutes. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was very comfortable and overlooked the golf course - beautiful outlook. The treatments we boked in The Green Apple were excellent. I had 2 full body massages - they were the best I have ever had and extremely reasonable. The food ( we had breakfast and lunch) were delicious - well presented, good food and not over priced. The 3 girls that served us in the dining room were delightful. I wanted somewhere close to Bath and reasonable so we could afford some treatments without breaking the bank - the hotel fitted the bill perfectly.
I would have liked it if the pool had been bigger. I am recovering from an operation and really wanted to swim to get fitter but the pool is small and there wasn't enough room. I was warned of this though and it was warm and clean so I can't really complain. They could do with refurbishing this area -(I know they are upgrading the changing rooms at the moment).
Food and service were excellent
Bathroom a bit small
