The Chamberlain130-135 Minories, Tower Hill, EC3N 1NU London (Show map) Very good, Score from 976 reviews“The staff were friendly and helpful, room was well appointed with lovely touches such as slippers and bathrobes, overall excellent value for money”
Karen,
Exmouth
Just north of Tower Bridge, this friendly and comfortable hotel is near the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, the 'Gherkin', the river and St Katharine Docks. Many of London's world-famous sights are within walking distance, and there is good access to the business district. Liverpool Street Station is a short walk away. The Chamberlain has a modern but welcoming sense of style, as well as a refined restaurant and pub-style bar for upscale dining, superior ales and relaxation. During lunch and in the evenings, the restaurant is a more formal alternative to the relaxed surroundings of the bar. Hotel Rooms: 64, Hotel Chain: Fuller's.

Stayed here for few days with my 5 year old son. Hotel was excellent, good location. Staff very helpful & food was great. Was a little bit expensive but definately worth it if you are only staying for a few days. Only thing I didnt like was no window to open, however room was well air- conditioned.

The Chamberlain Hotel is ideally located for visiting London. There are a number of underground tube lines located nearby. The hotel is very nice, clean and perfect for a short getaway. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection of hot and cold breakfast. I especially liked the waffles and eggs benedict. I would stay here again and again very good value for money. London hotels are always a gamble especially if on a tight buget. I've stayed in some dirty dives for the same price as the Chamberlain which didn't include breakfast in the deal. Great hotel with outstanding service from all involved.

Everything from booking in to checking out was straight forward. Cooked breakfast varied in quality; overcooked / just right, and when breakfast staff supervisor was on day off service lapsed.

This was my fourth or fifth stay at this hotel, and it is always a pleasure. The rooms are all spacious, clean, comfortable bed... The rate per night has risen up quite much the past year - I guess that is the same for all London hotels these days.

Friendly helpful staff. Clean room. The Room safe didn't work. We asked for someone to look at it and was told someone would come up. After an hour, nobody came. We rang down saying we didn't want to spend any more of our short stay, waiting for someone to come up. We were told it would be fixed by our return. It was never fixed. Even after asking a further 3 times. We ate in the restaurant. The main course was inedible. We paid £4.50 each extra for Beef Wellington and that's exactly what it was like. A wellington. We will never ! eat there again.

Convenient for Aldgate Tube station less than 5 minutes walk away. Staff were great very helpful in giving directions and excellent service. When we arrived lift was out of order and they kindly took us up to the fourth floor in the staff elevator. Also we were allowed to leave our cases their before we could book in and after we checked out which some hotels will not do. For the price paid was disappointed. Dated but clean. DId not sleep that well this was not due to the bed but noise from the traffic not fully double glazed and gaps in window frame. Only stayed 2 nights if longer would have asked to be moved to a room facing the back.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the pub was excellent, the free Internet access was great. Rooms at the back of the hotel are very noisy as there is a loading dock there. The daily noise there wakes people up well before 7 AM every day. Ask for a room away from the loading dock.

All staff (including cleaning staff) were very courteous and helpful. It is very close to City, and also rail. Lots of eating places nearby, and supermarkets. The building is obviously made of timber, as we could hear the clients above. This was particularly obvious in Room 302, where we could sometimes think an elephant was walking over the floor. (It was more noticeable than annoying). We did stay at Indigo down the road, and found it excellent. The stay here was enjoyable, but we would expect naturally to pay less at the Chamberlain where the building and furnishings are somewhat older. The air conditioning on floor 2 where we first stayed did not appear to work particularly well.

The price we paid for the room via Booking.com was excellent, however I think that if I had paid the actual room rate I would have been a tad disappointed as the room was quite basic. The staff were a credit to the hotel and the bathroom was real luxury. Our only main gripe was there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Overall we were really happy with our hotel booking and the price we paid. Thank you No tea/coffee making facilities in room.

Good location for Tower and east side of city. Handy for tube stations. Quiet at night. Bar food good and varied but restaurant menu much more limited in choice even though located next to each other.

Hotel was very clean. Surprisingly quiet for a city hotel. breakfast expensive but a lovely little Italian run cafe close by. Turn right out of the hotel and cross the road and you'll be there. Reasonable price and breakfast. Excellent coffee!

The hotel was very well located. The room was really comfortable with a superb bed. It was also very quiet, no noises from street or corridor. It had a tekkle and tea and coffee facilities. The breakfast was great, varied and really nice. I only can comment that it did not have any sporting facilities. However, being in central London you can always run on your own!

I loved staying at The Chamberlain. The staff were incredible, the location is the BEST part of my stay. I was 5 minutes away from the Tower Bridge Station and there were 2 other stations very close. The neighborhood was very safe and clean. The hotel was comfy and there is nothing about it I would change. The breakfast was great, if you can include it in your booking definitely consider it. There isn't anything I didn't like but the beds could have been more comfy. That's all I can think of. They are not terrible but if there is anything I would want to change for my next visit (there will definitely be a next time), it's the beds. They could be a bit more comfy.

Less 'plastic' and shiny than a lot of city hotels. Comfortable ambience. Handy for Liverpool Street Station. Quieter than some parts of London. Very clean.

Large, attractive bedroom and bathroom. Very friendly reception and check- in -- though we arrived latish on a Sunday night. Pleasant bar which was reopened just for us, without any complaints. Taxi rank a few yards from front door. Excellent value for money in the heart of the City. (One word of caution: it seems that not all taxi drivers -- minicab drivers at any rate -- know the location of the hotel, So ensure that you can contact the hotel by 'phone to get directions, if necessary).
