Comfortable rooms and beds, nice shower, very close to 2 metro stations, very nice staff, and breakfast was amazing. Good value for money. Ah, the pub is really handful and perfect for a last drink.

Friendly reception and service. The hotel was ideally placed for our dinner in the Fusiliers Mess at the Tower of London.

The central air conditioning plant which seemed to be positioned on the 4th floor was very noisy except when it eventually went into night mode sometime after midnight. Perhaps those who are light sleepers in rooms nearest the plant should be warned that they may wish to use air plugs.

atmosphere in the restaurant is good for single diners and food is good

the noise from the bedroom upstairs which woke my at 2.30am - sounded like a herd of elephants running around the room

Food in the restaurant was average. Only ate there once and was only fish and chips so not hard to get it right

There was no atmosphere in the hotel bar. A bit if music would have livend the place up. The staff wern't all that friendly and when we came back to the resident bar we ordered just two drinks and when we went to hand the man the money he said the system was closed for the night but took our room number to put the bill on which was fine but having finished our drink and heading to our room we where called over to reception by two men demanding we pay the bill now for the drinks rather then just wait until check out. I found it very rude and they wern't at all pleasent. The room was a nice size with hot water and comfy bed but there was only two windows which where very small and didn't even open!! So as you can imagine it was very stuffy at nyt tym and although there was air con it just dosn't do the same job so unfortunantly i couldn't get a good nights sleep. The area around the hotel is very quiet with not much life about in pubs or other restaurants. The Chamberlain would be perfect for older couples or a group of friends looking for a relaxing weekend away but as for young couples looking to experience the nightlife of the city then this isn't the place to go.

The hotel was very nice and easy to find. The room was very spacious and beds wer comfortable.

The food in the hotel bar was very poor. We ordered Cajun chicken burger and it wasn't any way spicy and the also got our order totally wrong

The hot breakfast could of been a little hotter was perfect for my husband but i like my food really hot. But the quality of the food was lovely really nice.

We had chosen the hotel first place because we Had read the good reviews, also because there was a good offer on price with breakfast included from booking.com. As a family of four, our aim was to compine all: price, quality, location. Everything was perfect, we loved our 3 night stay, our teenage girls were also very hapy with the wifi in rooms and the free pc at lobby. We were given two detached rooms with a separate door closing out of both rooms, as a suite, giving us the privacy to move freely between rooms as a family. We appreciated this much! Most of all I loved the white linen and the very thick and clean white towels and bathrobes, of a very good quality cotton (changed every day). We ordered food after midnight in rooms and it was well prepared, delicious and in logical prices. Also the stuff is very helpful especially at breakfast lounge. The lady explained to us all menu and she was very patient and smilly every morning, all the other stuff smilled too, made us feel confortable. The breakfast itself was rich and delicious with much variety, made us have energy for an active day out, we did not get hungry till late in the aftrenoon. The decoration of the hotel is really british style, with the dark woods and the heavy fabricks, but at same time warm and friendly. Location is perfect, ony 3 min walking from Aldgate metro station, and if you want to take the train from Liverpool street you can take the metro for one stop, or just walk to Liverpool str. It is only 8 min walk. So it was very easy for us to go there and take train to stansted airport. Generally location is very good because you can visit the tower too and reach the river and the pier on foot. I believe that accomodation is 50% of the trip, so we are very happy to stay in this hotel and we surely recommend it. Hope we can visit it again

Nothing serious really, the water cabinet in bath tub in room 302 not working properly, spraying water. Also the elevator was broken down during our last day, we had to use the stairs to carry our luggage from 3rd floor, but I am sure people did all they could to fix it, and machines do break down so we were not disturbed about it.

Spent a great weekend at the Chamberlain, really nice hotel with good food and great choice of ales. Great location 5 minute walk to tower of London and tube stations. Friendly staff.

Excellent location with the City, very close to tube stations & corporate offices around. Very strong Wi-Fi. Co-named nice pub the same door.

It is a charming, old fashion style hotel, with a superb pub in situ. Excellent full English or Continental breakfast. The staff is really outstanding, they will help you in every sense to have a nice stay. Thanks a lot!

Problems with plumbing, often no hot water in the afternoon, and at night the opposite - from the cold tap is hot water, even in the toilet ...)))

Breakfast was great. Lot's of food and they cook some when you order it. Love the bath tub, just big enough for me, but for bigger people it might be a bit small. Location was great, close by the underground.

The design of the hotel is a bit outdated for me. But the overal stay was good.
