The food was amazing and steak out of this world no wonder they have won so many awards in this area.
Steaks were excellent and cooked to perfection, chips were the best ever tasted in a restaurant - light and fluffy! Service was discreet but exceptional. Chloe our server was attentive and friendly. Maitre d' and sommelie were very professional.
Unfortunately en suite facilities were a little dated and especially the shower. Toiletries were provided but only 1 small bottle for showering and 1 shampoo between two people. TV reception was dreadful.
The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The breakfast was the best we've had with quality ingredients, freshly cooked with great choice and service. Service and styling of the Chop House was very good - very farm house traditional.
The signage is obscured by shrubbery so it was hard to find. The parking was a bit tight and a woman parking her four wheel drive smacked our car( then she pretended not to notice). The bedroom was painted in dark colour with heavy furniture and plenty of cobwebs inside the windows. Dinner in the chop house was over priced and lacked any finesse. At £25 for a steak + chips and £6.95 for a pudding with little flavour it was pretty poor.
Bedrooms, Breakfast, Wine Shop, & Wine list. Friendly Staff.
Hot water, could be hotter.
Nothing to report.
Quirky room, well presented. Food was excellent and service top notch. Very good value for money
The room was amazing and themed was so comfortable. Our meal was superb and I can totally recommend the ribeye steak. The portion were large and we were also offered a doggiebag. The staff made us so welcome.
We returned to Champnays as we were visiting friends close by. Only disappointment si that we didn't make it for dinner which is quite superb. Breakfast is cooked to order and piping hot. Staff without exception are excellent.
Staff and service exceptional. Room lovely. Nice setting. Well situated for lots of places to visit.
Ironic but the only disappointment was the food - apart from the starters which were excellent.
Easy to drive to. High quality furnishings, superb staff, on site quality restaurant and wonderful pub/bistro. Beautiful old building highly Maintained. 20 mins from airport. Absolutely would stay again
15 minutes from the Airport (by car only), very comfortable, reasonably priced
Quite Comfortable Excellent food and drink Ease of access Close to my meeting
Wi-Fi a bit slow
It the best hotel in Linlithgow by a long way
I have stayed in better hotels for less money if you don,t have to stay in Linlithgow I would go a little further out
Superb attention to detail.
lovely place with a lot of flowers, lovely furniture, lovely decorated restaurant, great big, clear rooms, very nice, friendly and ready to help staff. I will visit once again!
slightly expensive food, but very good quality and in nicely decorated restaurant.
Comfy bed, spacious room. Excellent staff, very friendly. Meal was delicious. The hot water was a bit tricky, but plentiful. Would be very happy to stay again.
Breakfast quality in the morning. If you get the chance to eat in the evening you won't be disappointed. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff
Food, layout, welcome, flexibility
room a bit dark in colour meaning lights needed at all times
We liked all the personal touches. Staff were very attentive . Bedroom lovely very comfortable bed. Liked the fact that an iron and iron board were in the wardrobe for your use. Excellent place.
We did not enjoy our evening meal in the chop and ale house. We both had lamb and it was not the best cut of meat. Really disappointing for the price.
Standard of Staff was excellent, personal and personable. Food excellent value for money Enjoyed my stay and wish it was for longer
We experienced true Scottish hospitalty, staff made us feel at home. The hotel has 2 restaurants providing excellent service and food to match. We spent a week at Champanny an optimum location for day visits to Edinburgh, Glasgow and the Scottish borders. The location is quiet and ideal for visitors who wish to avoid the big city environment.
We have no complaints
Pub meals were fantastic. Service was excellent
Hard to find
comfortable rooms, great staff
very poor wifi signal
Wonderful food in both chop house and restaurant. The beef is perfectly aged and hamburger is the best I've ever had. Extensive wine list and the friendly bar should not be missed.
Some of the furniture in the room needed repair.
