the south facing garden and terrace the building - marriage of the old and new the food
the t.v.'s , interference, lack of channel choice, no sound on bbc news channel, sound out of sync. with lips, this is not just in one room. they are looking into it. Oct. 2014
Breakfast was the only good thing about my stay at this hotel. Did a delicious buffet breakfast which was perfect.
The location of the hotel. Dull rooms. Very unclean. Smelly. Small rooms for 2 people. Very old feeling. More like a hostel not a hotel. Would not return at all needs to be modernised and updated with a lot of paint and new carpet and furnishire!.
Location excellent for the University. Peaceful surroundings, helpful staff. Good breakfast.
The conference centre needs a complete makeover. Doesn't seem like anything has been upgraded for at least ten years. A coat of paint everywhere would be good. The shower curtains need changing. Lighter duvets and softer pillows. I shouldn't have to scrabble about under a desk to plug in the internet cable - surely WiFi is now possible!!
Well priced and positioned to visit daughter at Manchester University. Good car park. Near regular bus route into City Centre. Plenty of eating spots nearby. Staff attentive when I needed a new light bulb. Conferences are main business so leisure guests perhaps in minority.
The room was comfortable and clean. Bathroom lacked attention to detail with broken toilet seat and toilet unclean in corners. Breakfast was cleared at 10.10am despite being told it was served until 10.30 at weekends. Had to ask for more milk, more tea, clean cup etc.etc.
Buffet breakfast a plus
Room was really small, OK for one, tight for 2
Location is good, food is good, nice atmosphere and good value.
Rooms are a bit tired, no wifi in rooms, limited tv channels.
Friendly and accomodating staff. Very reasonably priced.
The place could do with a coat of paint - it's a bit shabby. Also there was a very strange smell in the hall area close to my room.
no charge for car parking. Breakfast included for £60!
Staff were friendly and grounds were beautiful
Our room was tiny. Not big enough space to get changed in. Mould in the bathroom. TV didnt work. Very basic and dated inside. Definately not worth the price or the star rating.
Cleanliness, tv (which I've not had time to use, free parking and free breakfast/included.
11:00 check out I guess is a minor flaw but you have to check out at some stage.
Location convenient for visiting our daughter at university.
Room was very small.
Poor coffee. Mediocre breakfast.
Very comfortable bed Good shower, toiletries and large soft towels. Small balcony to enjoy summer evening and cool off. Good options when choosing breakfast items. Staff quick and polite when dealing with any queries. On-site, safe parking. Close to university.
Bathroom needed an extra clean as it smelt like public loos. Bedroom was perfectly adequate for one night but quite tight on space. Bedroom was very hot.
Buses ran often into Manchester Plenty of choice for breakfast Comfortable bed Able to sleep soundly
Too far away from Manchester Bathroom too small Bus stop too far from hotel.
The room was very small and cramped for a double. It would've been even too small for a single. The toilet rim was dirty, you could clearly see it, and the bed very uncomfortable, we didn't sleep because of this. I saw photos of the rooms online and they are very misleading. However.... The staff were lovely and very helpful when we asked how to get Into town. The hotel itself was very nice and the breakfast was lovely. We are in Manchester quite a bit so will be back but unsure wether or not it will be this hotel unless it's in a different larger room which I will mention next time if we choose to book again. We stayed In room 126.
Clean, quiet room, comfortable bed, great shower. Pleasant staff.
Breakfast was disappointing - dried out after over 2 hours under heat. Felt too 'take it or leave it'.
The staff were excellent, very helpful. The room was small but the shower and large bath towels are as good as any top hotel. The location is good and the breakfast okay. Overall good value for money.
Very small rooms Lack of caffeinated tea and coffee but staff did provide when asked
location was good as we were visiting son at University Breakfast was very good although all teas and coffees available are decaf only rooms and bed linen very clean
Size of double bed- bed was more like a large single very uncomfortable - room was very small but I would happily have forfeited one of the bedside lockers in return for a standard size double bed Choice of teas and coffee
Everything except check in and check out times
the fact that check in was at 14.00 and check out was at 11.00
The stand out feature is the gardens, and the longe overlooking them.
The food was surprisingly good. The desert of sticky toffee was also better than I expected. The views from the bar area are absolutely lovely and location is excellent if you are dropping kids of at the university.
We were given the top floor, with a little kid and with lifts that only go up to the first floor we got plenty of exercise!!!!
Breakfast was great with lots of options available, but been a buffet, some items were a bit cold.
Room was very small, and bed very hard and uncomfortable. There were doors banging all night, due to the spring system on them, they shut hard and loud. So not much sleep was gotten, also university close by, and due to the start of the term, there was a queue of cars for an hours to get access to the hotel.
Bed was comfy, staff helpful, breakfast lovely - great coffee.
The hotel did not receive my request for a family room but these are very limited apparently. Whilst our room was very small and basic, staff were very helpful in fitting in a zip bed and extremely apologetic about the situation.
Breakfast Helpful staff
Room was too small
Staff were very professional shower was very fast flowing and gardens stunning.
breakfast wasn't very hot. And very few tv channels.
