The service is great, the staff are very attentive, the rooms are quiet and comfortable, the location is very convenient for universities and town and the breakfast is delicious. It's also a treat to sit in the lounge with a coffee, looking at the garden. I know standards are high at Chancellors and this is one of the reasons I keep coming back!

Good to be close to all the amenities of Manchester city centre but without the noise, grime and late night revellry of the city centre. Staff were welcoming, courtious and genuine. Breakfast excellent: value and quality. Had a lovely walk in the grounds after breakfast, don't ever be tempted to sell that "space" or save money on your grounds staff as it really enhances the hotel. It would be nice to have one or two (no more) pictures in the rooms. Also the bathroom looked past it's sell by date. Undoubtedly clean but it looked shabby with old tile and black marks on the silicone seals...it wouldn't cost much to remedy the latter but gave a bad impression.

I stayed at Chancellors while doing a course at the University, so in terms of location it was ideal, just a few minutes walk away. The rooms were nicely presented and clean. The staff were generally friendly and helpful and I was able to leave my car and luggage there for the day following my stay while I did the second day of the course. There was a full english breakfast included plus cereals, yoghurts, croissants, which seemed nicely cooked and plentiful. As far as I am aware, there was no wifi access in the rooms but they provided wifi in communal areas and a cable connection in the rooms. The shower was a bit sporadic - changing between hot and cold for no apparent reason, which was a bit annoying. I know that another guest had problems with their radiator, having turned it on then being unable to turn it off or change the temperature setting and so ended up having to sleep with balcony doors open, which somewhat disturbed their sleep as it wsas a wet, windy night. The problem with the radiator had been mentioned to staff but they stated that the radiators could not be individually adjusted (although I didn't encounter the same problem in my room).

Excellent hotel, would recommend this to any family or friends. Hotel is complimented by extensive 5acre well maintained grounds. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Extra bed for child came at no additional costs which was a bonus. Will stay here again next time in manchester

Stayed here because there was a conference in the hotel. Single beds but very comfortable. Flat screen terrestrial tv in the rooms Rooms are basic and overpriced. Wifi is free in the the hotel will pay for your subscription to iCloud but they dont make this fact obvious when you are checking in and I only figured out when I was leaving. There is a poster about wifi but it's hidden behind a plant and pillar putside the conference rooms. I probably wouldn't stay here again. I spent one night in the best western which is just around the corner. same price but much better quality for money

The overall impression of being well organised and knowing its business. There are great conference and event facilities (although we did not use them) All the staff were great. Breakfast was nice. The view of the extensive grounds from the lounge is a real bonus on a city trip

It was an ideal location to visit my grandaughter who is studying at University of Manchester. The hotel was very friendly the food very nice and the rooms very comfortable. Also, only two floors so the lift was not needed. We have recommended this hotel to my daughter and her family and other family and friends who maybe coming to visit Jade within the next seven months whilst she is still in Fallowfields accommodation.

All staff very obliging and helpful. Room fairly small. Some mix up with menus in restaurant. Long wait but food quite good though restaurant was empty. Own vehicle or taxi required to find alternative eating places.

It was rather empty during my visit (a cancelled conference meant lots of rooms were vacant) but the staff on duty, particularly at Reception and in the restaurant were welcoming and efficient.

The price was good for the facilities offered. It was recommended to me by my son as being a good price and convenient location. We had dinner at the Chancellors on our first evening and the service wasn't all it could have been - no-one in bar or restaurant when we got there.

“We like its quiet location - can't believe how quiet it is, yet so near to a a busy main road and city centre. We could hear owls outside when we lay in bed at night! It's right on a bus route so no need to take our car into the city. It's in Rusholme, which is cosmopolitan and very interesting as a multi-cultural area, with different places to eat and shop. Luther King House is still a theological college for some of the week and we like its atmoshphere, it's very good theological library, and the chapel, as well as the friendly and helpful staff. It uses Fair Trade foods.” Katherine, Kirton-in-lindsey |
