Clean, quiet room, comfortable bed, great shower. Pleasant staff.
Breakfast was disappointing - dried out after over 2 hours under heat. Felt too 'take it or leave it'.
The staff were excellent, very helpful. The room was small but the shower and large bath towels are as good as any top hotel. The location is good and the breakfast okay. Overall good value for money.
Very small rooms Lack of caffeinated tea and coffee but staff did provide when asked
location was good as we were visiting son at University Breakfast was very good although all teas and coffees available are decaf only rooms and bed linen very clean
Size of double bed- bed was more like a large single very uncomfortable - room was very small but I would happily have forfeited one of the bedside lockers in return for a standard size double bed Choice of teas and coffee
Everything except check in and check out times
the fact that check in was at 14.00 and check out was at 11.00
The stand out feature is the gardens, and the longe overlooking them.
The food was surprisingly good. The desert of sticky toffee was also better than I expected. The views from the bar area are absolutely lovely and location is excellent if you are dropping kids of at the university.
We were given the top floor, with a little kid and with lifts that only go up to the first floor we got plenty of exercise!!!!
Breakfast was great with lots of options available, but been a buffet, some items were a bit cold.
Room was very small, and bed very hard and uncomfortable. There were doors banging all night, due to the spring system on them, they shut hard and loud. So not much sleep was gotten, also university close by, and due to the start of the term, there was a queue of cars for an hours to get access to the hotel.
Bed was comfy, staff helpful, breakfast lovely - great coffee.
The hotel did not receive my request for a family room but these are very limited apparently. Whilst our room was very small and basic, staff were very helpful in fitting in a zip bed and extremely apologetic about the situation.
Breakfast Helpful staff
Room was too small
Staff were very professional shower was very fast flowing and gardens stunning.
breakfast wasn't very hot. And very few tv channels.
As it is on the university campus, the hotel benefits from 24 hour security patrols and has the type of guest to match its location. The hotel is well run and set in landscaped grounds within the university. There is also free WiFi in all the hotel bedrooms via an Ethernet cable. I sleep well as it is a safe hotel and have stayed here several times when in Manchester on business.
The hotel could do with a lick of paint, it's the only thing that i can find wrong with this establishment, but will quite happily stay here each time I am in Manchester
it was an inconvience that the bar was on the other side of the hotel. Cleanliness is an issue for me as I work at a hotel myself and there were marks all over the walls. Simone checked us in and she was very helpful but the lady in the morning was very miserable and left us waiting for 15 minutes
friendly and helpful staff. clean room fluffy towels, wonderful breakfast actually all food we had there was amazing, not far from the bus stop they actually had a computer we could use with internet
funky smell throughout halls
This is a clean and functional hotel, within easy reach of the city centre. A good base if you need to be in Manchester at a reasonable price.
The breakfast wasn't particularly appealing but better than nothing.
nice quite location good breakfast
bedding could be cleaner
Electricity kept going off, no water
Staff were pleasant and courteous under circumstances.
Well, where to start and finish is the challenge. This was one of the worst hotels I've encountered in all my years of travelling. First night of six we were awakened with a drip drip drip on our bedroom ceiling/roof which kept us awake most of the night, reported to receptionist next morning who was unable to move us to another room due to a wedding party staying. We hoped it would not rain again the following but alas it came down in torrents and the noise at 4am in the morning resembled the sound of a helicopter over the room. Reported it again next morning and on this occasion we were allocated another room which was bigger than the original one (but that would'nt be hard). Well we looked forward to a good night's sleep which we got, we were attending a close friends funeral next day. On return to the hotel this night at 12.45 am we were informed that we would have to move out to another hotel due to a power cut which left security systems out of action and we sent to alternative accomodation which was paid for by ourselves but subsequently refunded and the night also not charged for by the Chancellors. Everything appeared ok on return next day and we were informed by desk that the situation was been monitored and we would be informed earlier than the previous night if the need arose to be moved again. We went to bed again wondering if we might be up again during the night to move but next morning arrived and we still in hotel. We proceeded to breakfast as usual and on the way there I tripped over an electric cable crossing the floor in one of the corridors (health& safety?) . On arriving in restaurant we were greeted with a breakfast of various cold meats including, cold sausages, cold bacon and some other unconventional products for a fullEnglish breakfast, we just had cold tea & croissants. Apparently there was no electric power in kitchen and it did look a bit dark there ok.
A nice comfortable hotel with beautiful gardens, the staff were superb and bent over backwards to help when major electrical issues caused a move in hotels in early hours. It was not their fault and they handled the crisis in their stride. Would deff re visit.
Staff -very friendly and helpful Food - wedding dinner was wonderful Gardens - lovely setting
Bedroom way too small Bed uncomfortable Ran out of JD twice!
Good Location Basic room facilities but functional
Poor TV Chanel choice and reception Limited food menu
Breakfast was excellent
Room a little cramped
First time staying at this hotel but would definetely book again. Everybody was very helpful.
Staff were friendly and provided needs promptly
Rooms need modernisation esp. Bathrooms
The hotel was close to a stretch of pubs ideal, Old Trafford was a 10 min drive, everyone in the hotel was nice and helpful
The prices at the bar seemed a bit steep and not much choice at all, asked for a cocktail and the barman replied "I'm not trained to do them"
The location, bar, open lawns, evening meal, breakfast, seating area all excellent
Reception seemed a bit confused and the room was basic and very small, but it was a trial to look for an alternative to the usual business hotels so overall value for money but I wouldn't like to have brought my wife to stay in that standard of room after the website images promised so much more...
