(1) Clean, Smart, modern, fresh feel. (2) Close to river, castle, bridge to Eton, Windsor town centre. (3) Breakfast (as a cold/continental breakfast). (1) No obvious fire escape and no map of hotel showing fire escape routes on back of room door (or anywhere else, for that matter). (2) No contact tel number in case of problems (eg up to midnight). (3) William room could do with more storage space. For instance, a chest of drawers just inside the door, next to the wardrobe). (4) No safe in the room. (5) Curved door on shower tends to derail. Major nuisance. (6) No specific info presented prior to arrival as to where the car can be parked overnight, and its cost. (Although the very helpful booking lady did advise me over the phone). (7) No drop- off facility by hotel. (8) Confusing info regarding entry codes. The note by the door is plain wrong. We had to use the last 4 digits of our credit card (a good idea). Also there is a specified pin code on the booking confirmation which is nothing to do with gaining access to the hotel. All very confusing. (General comment: Despite the above long list, we did enjoy our stay, once we had parked and gained access)

Was beautifully clean and the room was well laid out. The fridge was replenished with breakfast. I liked the fact that you had a pin code to get access to the building. Certainly recommended already to others. Although no on site parking,it was across the road. The bed was hard but I think this is down to the fact that I have pins in my spine.

Cozy room. Great bed. Decoration make us remember grandmother's house. Totaly privacy as soon we don't even see the reception. Real praticle pin sistem to open the doors. You don't has to order breakfast, because the room comes with coffe, tea, chocolate and cookies. Big bathroom. Decoration could be better.

everything is good except two points: first is the location, thought it is described as five minutes walk from the railway station, it was a bit hard to find and a bit far from the city center.the other is the hotel is using PIN number to open the door so there was no staff in the house, and no place to store packages, which is not so continence for us. But eventually , it is a lovely place and I like the design in the room

It was warm and cosy when we arrived, amenities were good and the paid breakfast was good, with plenty to eat. Very clean and comfortable with lovely furnishings. I liked the PIN entry to the accommodation as it you didn't ave to worry about keys or access cards Loved it all but would of loved the heating to remain on a little longer as we got very cold early hours of the morning, it was great there was an extra blanket in the cupboard.

Spacious; lovely comfortable clean bedroom and shower room; although on a cross roads it was very quiet with a co-op just across the road. 5 - 10 minutes to either train station and 5 minutes to the town centre. An alround pleasure. nothing

Probably the best guest house in Windsor love the keyless entry and on line billing. Very high standard of rooms. There is nothing to dislike about Charles House!

Excellant location for the centre of Windsor. The room (Victoria) was much bigger than expected. Had two large single beds pushed together with plenty of space around and plenty of storage for if you were staying longer than one night. It was spotlessly clean. Lots of food for breakfast (more than we could eat) and tea making facilities including earl grey tea and a teapot. Good hairdryer provided and plenty or mirrors. The room was very warm when we arrived but easily rectified by turning down the radiators. The room is on a main road but it was very quiet inside and can only be expected for a central location. We couldn't get the television to work but as we didn't have time to watch we didn't try very hard (perhaps didn't read the instructions correctly)

Our premium room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. There is no service whatsoever. You have to let yourself into the building using a pre-arranged PIN code and the same with your room - provided, of course, that you know your room number in advance. I didn't, so I rang the doorbell. The lady/owner/manager who answered the door was offhand and downright unpleasant. She didn't even say hello and clearly regarded me as a nuisance. Her first words were to admonish me for not letting myself in and for not knowing my room number. If I hadn't already paid, I would have left right then and there. If you are the sort of person who likes to be welcomed with a smile (as I do), then Charles House should be avoided. Several days later when I returned home, I checked my booking confirmation and found my room number in the small print several pages down. The small print also said that the guest house would be unattended, but I wonder how many people read the small print in their booking confirmation. I never have and have never needed to. This kind of thing should be in big bold letters which are clearly visible prior to booking.

Could walk into town, although weather was rainy, so used the car. Access to house via 4 digit password, nice not to have to carry door keys. Parking at the house was inconvenient (up the accompanying side street, in a parking lot) and had to be renewed twice daily (all day for five pounds and then the evening for 1.50) for approximately US$10 each 24 hrs. Received a parking ticket for paying for all day in one downtown lot, leaving there early and returning to the lot by the house, for the remainder. Nowhere does it state that payments are for one particular lot and are not transferable to another. Happened on our last day and and no opportunity to discuss directly with the city, so now must send fine - 25 GB pounds (approx 41 USD) - from the US.

Very straightforward to use, but don't forget to take the credit / debit card you booked with! Rather easy to drive past, as sign on building says only "Guest House", not Charles House.

The location was excellent and even though there were no parking facilities there was a parking lot 3 minutes away. The rooms were of a good size, comfortable and welcoming. There are no hotel facilities but did not need these. It was a great advantage to be able to arrive and access the accommodation with a pin code. We arrived very late.

the room including the bathroom was spacious and clean. It was very noisy as we were located at traffic lights at a cross roads and we needed the window open as it was a hot weekend (for once). The promised toiletries were not all available, eg the body lotion.
