We had an extended (23 hour) layover and decided to come to Windsor, as it is so close to Heathrow and a little more relaxing than London. Charles House was perfect for this stay. I used to live in the area, and staying here I felt very much at home! Check-in process was smooth and we received instructions for access code well ahead of time. We arrived about an hour before check-in time but were kindly allowed to store our luggage in the house before our room was ready. The room was the perfect size, bed was comfortable, and there was good water pressure in the shower. Location was convenient - the street was quiet, but it’s a very short (5 minute) walk to the main shops. Overall excellent value for money and we would return again.

Just a 5-minute walk from Windsor town center and the historic Windsor Castle, this adult-only guest house has free Wi-Fi Rooms are traditional in style, with carpeted floors and central heating. Each has individual room security, so you can come and go as you please. Rooms also have a fridge, hairdryer, and flat-screen TV with Freeview channels. The Royal Borough of Windsor offers attractions for all ages, and guests can enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides through the park, or boat trips along the River Thames. On many days it is possible to see the world-famous Changing of the Guard.

Charles House is a great place to get away for a historic break in Windsor, the home of Windsor Castle. We use a PIN pad system to enter both the front door and your suite / bedroom door which is unique to you so no need to worry about keys or cards. We are literally a 4-5 walk from Windsor Castle, the River Thames and the Town Centre which includes many shops, bars, restaurants and cafes.
