Staff very helpful and accomodating. Advance information regarding potential noise from function was appreciated. When we checked out early because of noise and uncomfortable bed staff were polite and apologetic.
Our 'suite' was dated and with small high level windows. Music system was a CD radio and whilst we did not use it this was indicative of the dated features. We were informed in advance about potential noise from an event but the level of noise from the disco made it impossible to even watch TV. The mattress was rock hard rather than firm and the memory foam pillows awful. Additional pillows provided were very thin.
Friendly staff, a lot of privacy
The delux room was lovely with sitting room, walk in dressing room and lovely large shower.
Lovely cosy room. Staff were helpful and polite. Beautiful surroundings.
location is ace
Parking was a faff. Website said you could get permits, but they didn't have any.
excellent as usual, standards kept to high level :-)
The bedroom was nice and the bathroom was good. Close proximity to the cathedral and castle .
Lack of atmosphere perhaps because the restaurant was closed and nobody used the bar.
The bed was so comfortable, lovely living area to relax in and supplied with a good quality hairdryer, also a music system! Easy to control heating and the bathroom was lush xxx
Couple of cobwebs but an old building, and not the kind of thing that spoils your stay
Room was spacious and very comfortable.
Tea making machine, hot water was not hot. What is wrong with a kettle? The bathroom could have a shelf. On the web site it said it had a restaurant it did not.
Space and furnishings and breakfast
Noisy heating (listed building noise!)
Excellent location and good value for money. Room was good
Cleaners were a bit noisy outside our room in the morning
Away from the bustle of the town, in a quiet park and we were able to park there. Very good value. We will go back.
Not much at all. A bit too far to walk into town - but we didn't need to. The whole stay was very reasonably priced, but somehow it hurts having to pay for parking (even though only £5/day)
Loved the location Loved the style/size of rooms Nice and clean Super sized television Good breakfast selection Very good cooked breakfast Very good price
Morning call did not happen. Couldn't seem to find a name on the hotel, so found it difficult to find.
Location, staff and room contents
Broken flush mechanism on toilet- delving through a hole to try and flush a toilet is completely unhygienic. This has been broken for some weeks and the room is not fit for use until fixed (although clearly the manager thinks it is). Also if you're not part of a wedding avoid the hotel on a wedding night. Although pre-warned on 'some music' the level in the room on floor 2 was so loud the room vibrated. It is not unreasonable for non wedding guests to expect a pleasant experience.
The building was incredible and the rooms, we were upgraded to a suite, we beautifully furnished and equipped.
Breakfast cost £9 per person. We were close to town so walked in and got excellent breakfast for a fraction. Parking also cost extra, but not bad at £5 for just outside the hotel.
Beautiful rooms and fairly big.
Only a minor thing but I had an email advising that checkout was 11am but at 9:30 the housekeeper came into the room. She apologised so all was forgiven but could be a bit more careful with keys etc.
Nice location in the old district .nice and really quiet .lovely oldstyle large suites .good size rooms .
Parking is charged at a £5 but wasn't fully explained when I booked in so came as a surprise when booking out .limited parking on site .but carpark next door .
Loved the spacious room and shower room it was nicely furnished and decorated
Carpet wasn't great and hadn't been cleaned properly.
Very comfortable bed, excellent shower. Very pleasant stay. Great location, great stay.
It didn't detract from stay but the shower head could have done with a bit more attention eg: lime scale.
The property was well looked after and all of the staff we met were more that friendly and helpful but the the location, was excellent.
Nothing to comment on.
Nice size room, huge tv, excellent wifi, great pillows and duvet, great shower, well located, close to cathedral area and only a few minutes walk to the Brayford waterfront area.
Saw no other guests - bar was empty and uninviting
Location next to the castle handy for the town centre and the pubs/eating houses around steep hill.
Dripping tap, cold bathroom floor (slate tiles no mats) bar deserted most of the time
Breakfast eggs Florentine to die fo . Location friendly helpful staff.
£5 per night car park charge steep. Lack of maintenance for niggling defects such as missing button on shower control so had to use toothbrush end to push plunger down. Previous week toilet flush mechanism broken so had to push plunger again. Both not good for children and raised with staff on each occasion but no action taken. Previously shower had flooded bathroom floor reported and no action taken. I understand the owner is like Basil Fawlty so I assume O'Reilly is the maintenance man; just don't let him loose on renovation he'd probably use a 4 x 2 as a lintel!
