Better choice of evening meals
Nowhere to have a quiet drink the night we stayed as there was a function on ! There is only the one bar area.
staff and room were great, food was great.
poor service, stayed here twice and both times service is a bit slow.
very nice place great staff
a little too far from other pubs etc
Polite staff and reasonable food. Grounds are green and well kept.
Furnishing in room is dated. Room facing road with noise from traffic disturbing sleep. Windows cannot be shut to block noise. Anyway, room is too warm. Second floor room accessed through quite narrow passages.
nice décor, nice grounds, enjoyed breakfast and evening meal.
room 51 very comfortable in itself .... BUT difficult to sleep for the continuous buzzing noise from above (? fan or generator) and the floor boards were also very noisy. Can't imagine what the people underneath thought.
Rural quiet setting but just 10 minutes from the centre of Chesham
No mobile phone signal
Myself and my partner were very suprised to find this (apparently) 3 star hotel had such a large and well appointed room. Modern and very very spacious, it was a nice place to spend time. Breakfast was included for a very good price and was a good quality.
Not much! The location is very 'out in the sticks' but that's part of the charm.
The breakfast and the easy feel of the place. The staff are friendly and helpful
Bed wasn't very comfortable and when we first arrive we couldn't find anyone to check us in neither get a drink at the bar but it's minor things
Helpful staff Good location
Poor wifi connectivity
Excellent value for money. Staff were friendly and informative. Room was spacious clean and bright.
good for price
No wifi in most rooms No mobile phone signals
It's smart and served my purposes well.
The breakfast. The continental selection of cheese was presented terribly in huge chunks, a disgusting amount of cheese. Why not have it as part if the buffet and allow people to choose how much they want? Alongside that, why no fresh bread rolls? If I help myself to fruit/cereal then I can do it for cheese too.
Rural setting Freshly cooked breakfast
Bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Wi-Fi connection was not good at all in room I stayed in.
Was great to go from a stressful day training in tring. thru the lanes to this idyllic setting a great way to calm down really good value for money
The light was a bit dim to work with in room. a desk lamp would have been good
Good value with very nice location in general a very nice place lacks a little maintenance in the rooms but very clean. Staff were very polite and helpful and the breakfast was very nice. Would use again without hesitation Keith from Birmingham.
Lacking a little room maintenance in places but as I say a good place to stay and very clean with very friendly and helpful staff.
The fact the staff were so welcoming and friendly and worked quietly and efficiently together as a team.
The condition of the bathroom could be looked at, the toilet in the room could do with a good clean.
Friendliness of staff Good facilities
Limited toilets and no baby changing facilities in hotel No lift
Good location for short trip to RAF Halton and decent breakfast.Hotel has lots of character within the main building and its a nice quite place.Good parking facilities.Good price considering it included breakfast.
Arrived just after 9pm and were told there was no food not even bar snacks.Had to drive out for something to eat which wasn't great having already driven six hours that day. Got back to hotel about 11pm and was told that the bar was closed and no resident service. Hotel has some lovely character to it but the room we stayed in was very small...nothing like the pictures on the site...and was in need of refurb as the bedroom furniture was past its best. Also had to climb onto the dressing table to close the window...not great if you were elderly. The place could be so much better if the rooms were improved and updated
The setting Staff were pleasant Breakfast o.k.
We had to climb 2 steep flights of stairs, and I know it was my fault as I had not mentioned my husbands walking problems, but they weren't packed out so it would have been nice to be offered a more accessible room that wasn't so high up or so HOT!.
Quiet surroundings Very nice staff
Terrible Wi-Fi Almost no mobile reception
Location to were my training courses were held Very peaceful Reasonably priced Room clean and comfortable
Only one area to sit other then room as wedding had booked the bar and surrounding area's. This area was not inviting to sit and relax esp. if solo traveller. Poor/weak Wi-Fi connection unable to work. Certain rooms no Wi-Fi and could get signal in bar and surrounding areas.
Furniture, decoration and the high standard of service were similar to many four star hotels, rather then the 3 star rating mentioned on this website. Good value for the discount rate that I paid.
No passenger lift but is only three floors, so only a few stairs to ascend to rooms.
