Dark car park, no toilet paper, feeling springs inbed, sink not draining, plug in radiator as room cold, smoked bacon. Wont stay again
Stayed several times, still go back & will return again. Excellent quiet location, lovely grounds, pleasant staff who remember us. Breakfast superb. Suits our requirements to visit relations.
Smal problem, only had one shower towl, didon't make an issue of it.
hotel and grounds
poor bus service.bar closed nine every night
Evening meal acceptable and staff amenable.
We had expected a B& B Lodge not an impersonal conference venue. There was no heating on in the morning and the hot water was actually just warm. At breakfast was a rushed affair our "Freshly Cooked English Breakfast" was brought to the table before we had finished eating our cereals. Amenities not really available as we were invited to go across the courtyard to the sauna switch it on and then wait an hour for it to heat up.
Staff were all very polite and friendly
Hotel was smart and clean
too hot, turn the radiators down.
Character and location surrounding
The night I stayed the heating wasn't working and no hot water! Despite informing the hotel nothing happened and in the morning I insisted I needed to have shower and then they changed the room! Basic facilities and have stayed in much better hotels away from town for similar price
Lovely location, we were making an overnight stay for a business meeting the next day. We were the only ones in the bar that night, very quiet but lovely log burning stove and good bar food. Comfortable and quiet, just what wee were looking for.
Poor wi-fi connection in public areas and non-existent in the room.
After my complaints I got good service
Being put into a "Broom cupboard" because I was a solo traveller
nice place, pleasant room and clean. value for money .
breakfast was basic
Breakfast was very good
The walk across to reception, we were in an annex. Generally decor and buildings a bit tired and in need of an overhaul
rooms were clean. breakfast was good.
taxis were costly. No network coverage for most service providers.
Great friendly staff - fantastic value
Unfortunately there was nothing to like. Zero out of 10.
The fact we were denied access to the hotel facilities, including the bar, because they had a wedding taking place. We had driven a long way and the last thing we wanted to do was have to go out for a meal and a drink. They should not have taken our booking if they could not provide the facilities offered.
The room was pleasant and the bed comfortable. Whilst not luxurious had all we needed for a night. A good breakfast was included in the price. Lovely grounds.
Decor getting a little tired. The room we were allocated was noisy as there was the noise of the boiler or kitchen machinery.
Staff - great service Restaurant - quality and value for money of food
I like the peace and ambience of the country house setting, but close to the Tube (two miles). However, without your own transport you'd have problems.
Excellent food and facilities
Rooms were cold
Superior rooms were very nice - large with great view and very comfy extra large beds Staff were very pleasant and helpful.
nothing not to like
The staff were polite and efficient.
The staff were a rushed at breakfast as I had to wait for a table to be cleared before I could sit down.
Beautiful grounds a gem of a property could be perfect for weddings, romantic breaks
Tired dated room The uncomfiest bed we have ever slept in! Mattress needed throwing out! Room not made up returned to no clean towels, coffee etc
Location was far too rural , No signal for mobile phones unless you stand in the right part of the Conference suite corridor [ the hotel knows this but do not put it in the details . ] No in room Wi-Fi and the signal in the bar is very poor .Come on its 2014 we are trying to run a business everyone wants to get back to the Hotel , make their phone calls and check emails and make next days plans . Nearly £6 for a glass of house wine and nearly £10 for a burger .I wont be back and don't recommend the place to anyone . Chartridge get you act together you are in a business with lots of competition !!!
In its day this has been a hell of a lot of home! Beautiful gardens but hard to see at night Good value for money Pleasant staff Loads of car parking and probably secure
Totally off the map location wise. Absolutely no phone connectivity!! Limited draught drinks at the bar Limited bar menu Very steep stairs...not good for older legs....no lift! Rooms are dated...
No hot water, unforgivable
Friendly staff. Clean,we only booked breakfast but was very nice both mornings and served on hot plates . Something to suit everyone from continental to full English . Excellent value for money !!!
