The proprietor (my apologies for not knowing her name)warmly welcomed us .The breakfast was perfectly prepared and presented. Immersed within nearly an acre of private gardens, this family-run hotel is set within an oasis of peace and tranquility at the gateway to the beautiful Wye Valley. Originally built in the late 1800’s, this large Victorian house has been updated to offer all modern comforts, although many of the original features of the house have been preserved. During your visit you can see the traditional tiled entrance hall and elaborate ceiling plasterwork in the lounge and restaurant. Only half a mile from the center of Ross-on-Wye, The Chasedale is an ideal base from which to explore the lower reaches of the Wye Valley (ANOB) and its wonderful surroundings. Hotel Rooms: 10

Pleasant friendly staff, nice location, nice breakfast. Comfortable room, plenty of parking space, 10 minute walk into Ross on Wye. The room only had a bath, a shower would have been nicer

Very little. The grounds were pleasant and it was easy to find.and reasonably convenient to the town centre. It was rather run down - windows needed painting, some of the carpets had seen better days etc.. Our room wasn't especially clean and the decor was drab and depressing. Breakfast was uninspiring.

Very pleasant staff/owners, attentive without overdoing it! The room was large and comfortable with a lovely outlook. The breakfast was well cooked and presented, and adequate in quantity. We were very pleased with the location as it was only a very short walk into town, but far enough away to ensure noise was kept to a minimum. An overall relaxing environment for anyone seeking a more genteel experience. If your looking for a real buzz, it won't be for you. Although the ground floor, dining room, lounge etc were nicely decorated and presented in period decor, the upper floor, bedroom/bathroom were very clean but looked a little tired and in need of some attention in places. Our room had no shower, although we did enjoy a relax in the bath for a change - encouraged a more relaxed approach perhaps! However, neither detracted from our experience enough to deter us from visiting again.

Too quiet - no other guests on two out of three nights. Internet says they do evening meals and have an excellent retaurant, but they do not do evening meals. Hotel is run down -clean-but poor decoration and windows with broken sashes and rotting wood, Gives air of neglect.

Lovely house, warm welcome and made to feel special, relaxing atmosphere and comfortable bed and a truly delicious breakfast. It reminded me of the vicarages I know.

Relaxed Staff, excellent breakfasts, nice gardens to sit in...we had good weather. Pleasant guests no problems with their pets On the booking I asked for a shower as I have problems. This was not spotted so as we arrived I was told there was no shower, but offered a room in another hotel. As we were tired and wanted to be out of town we said we would manage. Next day we were given a bath stool so I was able to get in the bath, but if I had been on my own I could not have got out. My fault for not thinking it thru being newly diagnosed with problems.

The staff were very friendly. The hotel was quiet. A sense of space pervaded, reminding us of Victorian age. The shower. A rubber hose is not up to modern standards.
