Nothing, it was a very cold environment. No background music in the bar. Bar staff were very slow and even served a jug of coffee with just coffee and no water. Was told that there was a function, so we asked to have a room on the second floor, when the musice started at 10.40 the noise made everything virbrate and rattle including the door and the toilet system. If booking this hotel, just make sure there are no functions and if you not mind no atmosphere.

Views of the lawn from bedroom. Good room service. No hot water on arrival. Brown water then coming from tap. Had changed room by phone but reception staff didn't know and it hadn't been updated on computer.Poor service at breakfast E.G. table set for dinner so had to be altered. Had to ask for cups and saucers, butter etc.Was there for a birthday party who had organised a special rate. Staff knew that I was attending and didn't tell me so I paid more than I should have.

The location of the hotel is excellent for exploring the local area, both for the town and countryside and its tourist attractions. The Hotel staff are all very professional and helpful. The Hotel's decor and furniture throughout is very 'tired' and can do with modernising. Whilst the grounds are vast this too could do with some housekeeping in order to enjoy the facility - All too overgrown by the river.

Although the room was relatively small it had all that I wanted. The staff were very friendly and very professional as well. The directions to the hotel from the hotel's web site were very poor as they did not take into account the one way road system in and around the hotel.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Chase, service was very good and staff cheerful and welcoming. We had a standard double room which was a little small but well maintained, the en suite bathroom was very good. Our over all impression was the Chase had a country hotel feel although it was very close to the centre of town and the price reflected it's location rather than the standard and facilities of the hotel.

The breakfast was excellent. The furnishings were good quality and undamaged We booked a "superior double room but we did not consider it really a "superior room. It was small and did not even have an armchair. There was a small chair squeezed in the corner. There were a couple of drawers in the dressing table but otherwise no cupboard. The bathroom was also good quality but had only a ?half or 3/4 length bath. When I went to reception to ask why this was considered a "superior room" I was told it was because we had a view out over the garden and not an internal view. I don't consider that adequate. Sadly walls / ceiling were thin and when the upstairs occupants came in there was noise at 11.30 and again at 6.30am which was not what we wanted on a weekewnd away. As this was a birthday celebration I wouold have expected at least spacious accommodation. Otherwise it was an excellent hotel in a wonderful location.

Excellent accommodation with ample parking set in parkland some 5 min walk from town centre. Comfortable clean well appointed rooms representing good value for money.Waiter service at breakfast from a quality menu was a real treat. The absence of a lift could present a real problem for those with disabilities.

Lovely welcome from friendly receptionist. Breakfast was varied and served promptly and hot. Facilities in room good. We felt the price was too high given that our room turned out to be next to a fan from the kitchens which was loud and wafted kitchen smells into our room in the morning. Decor was nice but a little dated.

All staff with whom we came into contact were relaxed, friendly and efficient. Although we didn't use the bar, post dinner service ( Port/ Coffee) was delivered to table very swiftly. The Chef is to be complimented on his creativity and presentation. All his combinations of flavours, within the range of dishes sampled, worked well together. Dining was a good and memorable experience. Our allocated room was a little 'smaller' than expected but we assume this was the result of being moved further away from the venue of two wedding receptions, during our stay, to offset the effects of any noise overspill. Once four days worth of clothing was unpacked there was not a great deal of room in which to move about however having said that we were away from the room, touring, for most of the daylight hours.

A good location with views. It was a Sunday evening stopover and there was a wedding party, hence the music was loud and the peace and quiet of the location was spoiled for us.
