Set in beautiful gardens, this 16th-century Tudor farmhouse offers charming en suite rooms, some with discounted rates. Stratford-upon-Avon is just 6 miles (9.6 km) away.
Score from 352 reviews Very good
The Individual character of the Building.
Nothing all was good.
Convenient position close to motorway . Price ok for 1 night for convenient after party but wouldn't stay for any other reason. Would only recommend for that purpose.
Lack of air in the bedroom as in the courtyard on lower floor.
just about everything
restaurant prices high
Our first stay here (we had eaten here before and knew how good it was. It is a beautiful place. Although we had one of the cheapist rooms we found it very good. Staff were excellent and the Food 5 Star
The food at Dinner was excellent and the bar service very friendly and efficient. The grounds are superb.
Although we booked a superior room we were shocked by how tiny the roon was. We wondered if we actually got what we paid for because if ours was a superior room, although comfortable, it scored poorly in relation to other similar hotels
Building was beautiful, location very convenient for motorway. Had a very relaxing walk around the grounds and the staff were very friendly.
The lights!!!!! It was like being in Asda! They were extremely fluorescent in the room and even brighter in the restaurant. There were a few parts of the hotel that were noticeably in need of repair and the lift smelt really bad, so we decided to take the stairs. Not so great for older or disabled customers!
Everything was absolutely fine apart from the soundproofing between the rooms
Sound proofing between the rooms is poor so sleep was disturbed at 3.30am when occupier in adjoining room paid a visit to the bathroom!
Look of the Hotel Friendly staff
A bit dated interior Restaurant not too good
Comfort and quality of accomodation
Nothing to add
The new restaurant is very chic. Food including breakfasts was excellent. Staff were friendly.
We liked the tacky eighties vibe of Jason's Carvery. Sad it's gone.
The house is stunning .
Impney court is a little stale could do with a refurb. Also air conditioning would be good as it was too hot to have a good sleep.
Loved the grounds and the view of the hotel itself from the road and grounds.Unfortunately we were delayed on our journey and had to cancel dinner but breakfast was beautiful.
The walk from our room to hotel for breakfast was lovely since it was a nice morning but I wouldn't be to pleased if it were raining. Would have preferred room in the main hotel.
Location and staff exellant !
Bar was quite expensive .
The breakfast The peace and quiet
Rooms were a bit dated
We had a room which was underground a felt oppressive, and would have not been acceptable for more than an overnight stay. The restaurant was poor, both in terms of value and quality. The breakfAst was OK
peace and quiet. just to relax. just our time
Staff very courteous and helpful, surroundings lovely. Food ok, nothing special.
Although apartment was very clean and had everything we needed, it was very sterile. Also so the shower did not work properly and could not be used. We ate in the bar as too late for lunch, although the food was ok, again there was no atmosphere at all. Would have preferred cups, saucers and tea or coffee pots at breakfast, not there are your mugs, get your own drinks. Given the outside appearance, we thought there would be more ambience to the hotel.
We liked the main hotel and gardens and location. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast good.
We felt completely misled in that we were directed away from the Chateau on check in to what we described as ' Prison Cell Block H' We were here for a society wedding and the prison cell we were allocated completely ruined it for us. Nasty dirty room, carpet filthy dread to think what all the stains were? No light, no air con, no air, claustrophobic, twin beds seen better days, some of the worse facilities we have endured. Shame on you for misleading customers. If we had wanted a poorly equipped Travel Lodge then we could have booked one. Never recc this hotel to anyone. YOUR LOSS.
What a beautiful place. Absolutely loved it. The room was great with a very nice view of the hotel terrace/grounds. Staff really friendly and efficient. Once you see the outside of the hotel (photos do not do it justice) you just want to get inside and see more. The reception area is an addition to the hotel but to get to our room we had to go through a gorgeous, oldey worldey bar and up the most beautiful staircase. The corridors and our room are decorated in keeping with the character of the place. Would definitely stay again.
The only negative throughout the stay was the restaurant. My husband and I had dinner during our stay, something I was really looking forward. I have to point out that there were no complaints regarding the or the service, it was the restaurant itself. Upon entering the restaurant area I was immediately disappointed and had to check that it was actually the hotel restaurant. To my dismay it was. It was in total contrast to the rest of the hotel - very modern and minimilistic to the point of being clinical. Not what we were expecting at all! After dinner we took our drinks into the bar area near the grand staircase (this particular bar does not open until 10pm so understandably was empty) but we enjoyed sitting there, taking in the beautiful surroundings, much more than we had in the bar area of the restaurant.
It was not made clear at time of booking that the accomodation was not in the main building and quite a distance away - not pratical if raining
Price, nice grounds.
Rooms were not in the main building, but in a dated extension some distance away.
The grounds and cuisine, the friendliness of the staff, the ease of checking in and out, the decor...
The noise of the M5 motorway in the background, the thin walls between bedrooms, and the smell of the previous occupant in the bed the previous evening to us.
The drive up, through the amazing grounds. And the main hotel is very impressive
The room was not in the main hotel, and there was no option online, no room service due to safety reasons, the room had a cobweb.
Self catering apartments that were booked for my daughter and her bridesmaids. Fabulous value for money and in a lovely setting. Also thought were very polite and helpful and breakfast was very good.
Our superior double room had a lovely view but was very small.
Location, friendly helpful staff and good food
Two types of accommodation available the main building and the 'courtyard rooms' with the latter being the cheaper alternative seem of very different price and quality, check which you have been offered before booking.
