Lovely building and the old fashioned ambience of the hotel very welcome, not kept waiting at reception, plenty of staff around to answer questions, breakfast was excellent and decor in dining room was very nice. Excellent location. Air conditioning didn't work properly, therefore windows had to be kept open - the noise from the bus station at 5 a.m. kept us awake. Would definetly go for a garden facing room next time.

It was a wonderful surprise to get a room with views of the sea from every window. It was so nice in fact that on both the nights we stayed we ordered takeaways to eat in the room rather than dining out in restaurants. The staff were friendly and attentive, the room clean and comfortable and the breakfast delicious! We were so happy we chose the Chatsworth for our weekend away The traffic was a little noisy but A small price to pay for the amazing views!

Good shower Vastly overpriced.Miniscule bathroom, tiny tv. Average breakfast. Sheets and blankets!!!!! They also charge you £4.00 for a parking permit which actually costs £3.50. Badly in need of an update.

A lovely and historic hotel. Bedrooms are on the small side but quite adequate. Breakfast was very good and the service exceptional. Parking is a bit of a problem as there is no parking owned by the hotel. However, they have access to validated parking at a multi-level carpark close by. Far better to stay at The Chatsworth in Worthing than at Brighton and drive or catch a bus to Brighton. Highly recommended. Lack of own parking.

I thought that the staff were excellent.I Am a solicitor and businessman and was on a weekend break with my mother. The staff were all very helpful. Thanks in particular to the Romanian chambermaid who found my mother brooch. The breakfasts were excellent and I enjoyed watching the way the restaurant manager (from the Canaries) ran the restaurant-very good.On the downside,I thought that the passages and bedrooms looked as though a coat of paint had been thrown at the walls but bits left out. Also the tap unit in my mothers room was liable to move if the taps were turned on.Those two things were the sort of things one might expect to find in a hotel in a developing country.

The hotel is family run so there is great attention to detail, cleanliness and comfort. The staff are attentive and helpful, but not intrusive. The en-suite facilities include powerful separate showers above the bath as well as the usual bath tap operated. The double glazing is effective at keeping out the noise of seagulls, which is an advantage in a seaside town. It is good value for money. I recommend this hotel Parking is in the street outside the hotel but you can purchase a voucher for this at considerable discount.

V friendly and helpful staff. An electronic lead that I left in the room was posted on to me - excellent service and a big thank you. Delighted to see an hotel providing quality service at a good rate without lowering standards to the Travelodge end of the hotel end of the sector.

Friendly, warm, especially the Gentleman manager who lent us umbrellas, also when I phoned the evening before, because I had made a mistake with the booking he immediately put my mind at rest that my mistake would be rectified. Very happy with our stay thank you.

Up to expectation and a very pleasant, comfortable break in an ideal situation. Would quite like to return. Incidentally, the hotel 'phoned us to warn that it could be noisy one night (in fact no disturbance) so I took the opportunity to ask for a double room which they provided. The double did not show online. We would have liked a handhold on the wall of the bathroom even though there were handles on the bath itself. Room, though cosy, was a little small for two.

Lovely comfy beds, amazing shower Choice of two in the bath! Exellent view of the Pier, really nice to wake up to the crashing waves and seagulls... Friendly staff, Especially Nick the Evening Manager. It is quite a lot of money for one night for a Standard Twin Room"

“My wife and i had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Highdown Hotel, The room was better than we expected and the staff were absolutely fantastic and we cant praise them enough. We ate several times in the restaurant and must say the food was delicious on every occassion. The bar was a bit pricey but acceptable, the management were a very nice couple and seem to work very hard every time we went to the bar or restaurant they were on duty and always had a smile. We cant recommend this place enough and we will definately be staying there again in the very near future,!! Well done the Highdown !!” Ann, Alvington |
