With free parking, a restaurant and bar, this peaceful Edwardian hotel is beside the sea. You can smell the fresh, salty air even on a calm day.

Score from 77 reviews Very good
Location very close to the sea, shopping and public transport. Charm, wifi available, room was nice size with bath/shower. Bed was reasonably comfortable and hotel is generally very quiet. Renovations in progress, so obvious they pay attention to the condition of the hotel. Desk and housekeeping staff were wonderful. Has a working elevator. Good value. Have not been able to get in on previous visits during the tourist season, and I now understand why.
Dining room staff was not very friendly or attentive, even when the dining room was nearly empty. Had a room at the back of the hotel, overlooking the bus company parking... got a bit loud at times, but not bad. Room walls are very thin ... could hear housekeeping working next door and one night my neighbor was a door slammer. Overall very, very little to dislike.
The location is good although you'll need to plan your parking. The staff are friendly enough.
The only things against are: The Hotel needs modernising. I didn't like the manual keys and the fact that the room door didn't lock itself.
location staff value
large bath and room, comfy bed, breakfast very nice
bus depot out back, not there fault though.
The location was perfect for our needs. Its quite a quaint place, very near the sea and town.
The hotel is aged. But this suits the clientel. We are in our mid 30's and certainly half the age of the other occupants! For the price, facilities could be better for example the wifi is spotty at best and toilets could do with having a toilet brush to clean after yourself (ahem).
good location central Worthing but no dedicated hotel parking
The hotel had a likeable charm about it. The breakfast and dining area are 1st class. The staff very obliging
Thought the reception area needed a little updating
Location, service. Breakfast is a very pleasant experience.
General standard of decor and fixture & fittings is clean but a bit dated.
Excellent location. Friendly staff.Excellent for the price I paid.
Although it's in the right place (or was), this hotel can't avoid being noisy as the coastal main road passes through the Steyne. The room was stuffy;Overheated even with the heating turned off. With windows open it became too noisy from about 4.00am. Could do with some double glazing!! Not a good place for light sleepers.
Service from all staff was excellent.bed very comfortable.
The door in my room had a very large gap which l felt draft coming in the room so I had to put a pillow there to stop the wind from coming to the room. The breakfast should have a choice of chesses for the open buffet. The last I stayed I had dinner ordered chargrilled solmon but it was fried very greasy.
comfortable room with bath, and shower option. plenty of hot water. enjoyed sea view with sunset. nice breakfast in very pleasant surroundings with plenty of choices and attentive service.
no double glazing to sash windows, passing traffic rather noisy.
Very relaxing stay.
not long enough
I've stayed at the hotel on several occasions. The location is great and staff are attentive, helpful and friendly.
It struck me that the hotel is looking very shabby. Too much chintz dates it and bearing in mind the location, it could be smarter and more contemporary.
Excellent value for money Free wifi Very good breakfast with several choices of hot food. Very courteous staff
Room had nice view, after paying extra to be moved.
Poor bar, worn out fittings, funny smell.
The manager and staff were outstanding; extremely polite and helpful.
view of scafolding from my window dirty stains on carpet better towels would be appreciated
Friendly helpful staff.
Room small, too much furniture, remove the table. Screen on bath makes it awkward to turn on taps etc
Practically everything! Friendliness of the staff, wide choice of breakfast. Comfy bed etc. The location was spot on for what I wanted, had view of the gardens from bedroom window & also the view of the sea though the trees. Will definitely stay again!
Only downside for me was the bedroom carpet, it was well worn in places & had seen better days. (Didn't spoil my stay & I will be staying again!)
We were immediately pleased with our choice of hotel for location, then inside we found everything of a high standard of cleanliness throughout, curtious and friendly staff and general comfort. We would certainly return to this hotel and recommend to our friends.
Have stayed in a few hotels in my time, but this was by far the best, room was utterly lovely and so was view and staff.
It was only a one night stay but we were welcomed by the reception staff and had a good, if brief, stay.
The breakfast the room and bed
I couldn't fault the helpfulness of the staff. Everyone from the concierge to those waiting on the table was very pleasant . I cannot comment on the restaurant facilities, as we did not eat there. Due to Christmas festivities, the catering staff were fully engaged in providing for company celebrations, but we were informed of this when we booked and were advised by the hotel of other nearby restaurants which we tried. The breakfasts were manful and tasty
As we were only staying 2 nights, we didnt think the towels needeed changing , so we left them on the towel rail to try and help the environment, but they changed them anyway
Location brilliant, the staff could not have been more helpful everybody so friendly made us feel at home, Rooms spotless ,suprised by prices at Bar very reasonable ,breakfast had good choice and again service of staff very good, will be rebooking again in April will not be using anybody else.
Bathrooms could do with upgrading very clean but a bit dated, Due to being on Main Road can be a bit noisy ,also due to our room being over Main Entrance quite noisy when groups of people leaving after Christmas Parties.
