The layout and decor of the hotel reflects its 200yr old status and gave it character. Rooms were a good size and the breakfast was very tasty. If you want a modern, bland hotel then do not stay here.
Close to sea front
Room being six inches taller one end than the other made us feel dizzy every time we went to the bathroom. Window didnt lock shut. Large damp patch above bed. Very dated
Staff were friendly and great location. Make sure you book a garden or sea view or you'll be very disappointed!!
Decor in desperate need of up dating. The bed had a terrible old bobbly blanket that should not be in a hotel room. TV service not very good. I have paid very similar prices and been felt spoilt. This hotel is quite poor for the price .... Sorry
The staff were friendly and helpful. Th e early check in was helpful as was the late check out.
We had a garden room which was noisy until late - I think the price was far too high - we had friends in a family room on the second floor and found it difficult to locate.
Noise from extractors below
I can imagine it was a grand hotel in previous times, decor looks a bit dated now, but great location, breakfast was good, view from room interesting, bed comfortable, plenty of hot water, coffee/tea facilities OK.
Bathroom was very small, although clean. Shower was complicated to use, toilet seat loose and eventually fell off (could have been dangerous), wasn't aware of an extractor fan.
The Chatsworth is elegant, friendly and full of interesting history. Warmly recommended.
Room, was shabby cracked wall above bathroom door, bathroom shabby needs complete renewal. Beds had blankets should be duvets carpet need to be cleaned.
Staff and location; The bed was comfortable; the bathroom clean.
Too noisy (doors banging and whole place trembling); Noise at night by uncivilised guests; Too old and stained carpets in the corridors.
Breakfeast and unstaffed resident bar!
The ambience of the hotel Good breakfast. Very helpful staff
Noisey guest at wedding reception shouting and screaming till early hours in street at main entrance below our room. Traffic warden booking us even though we had paid and displayed a parking voucher!
The room was far too hot.
Room 360 had a fabulous sea view. It was nicely decorated and had air conditioning.
Not the hotel's fault but the bar below was noisy in the evening. As it was summer people were outside. Not loud music but voices carrying.
It was close to where we needed to go and it had what we needed. Night manager was very helpful and professional
Too many staff with a foreign accent in a English hotel. Bathroom needed updating. Breakfast was good although more continental choice would have been nice
Location Comfy bed TV and shower of good quality
Little flexibility - although the hotel provides Afternoon Tea, they could not supply a simple scone once past the tea deadline Hotel could keep its character yet still do some basic upgrading and decorating. 'Award-winning' breakfast comprised rather meagre portions
I liked the whole stay, breakfast great, staff were polite and lovely and clean rooms, will return for sure
confident helpful and courteous staff breakfast parking was no trouble
located next to bus depot
We liked the olde worlde feel of the hotel, the staff were lovely and they served a very nice breakfast. Although our room was small it had a lovely view of the gardens and sea.
Our room was on the small side
near beach and town centre
room overlooked bus depot. no car park.
Good location on the coast at Worthing. Staff was very friendly and the food was good. Clean room.
Parking was a bit of a headache.
The staff were very helpful and professional, the breakfasts were very substantial with a good selection of food on offer, the hotel is in a good location, very central and represents good value for money
The hotel could do with a bit of modernising, its very old style, the showers are very difficult to get used to as the plumbing is very old, also I dident like the fact that the hotel will not accept credit or debit cards after nine thirty at night
Noise from bus staion at rear of hotel where our room was. When we told the reception about this we were told we should have paid for a better room.
Position and proximity of parking to walk anywhere in Worthing.
Our room overlooked the bus depot so poor view and quite busy whenever we were in the room. Very average breakfast...tired so probably cooked and waiting too long before serving.
Good location Okay room Nice breakfast
Breakfast was excellent and staff are always helpfull.
The hotel is looking very tired and carpets in the rooms look very old and need a good clean.
