But many conveniences located within a short walk. Eastbourne Wheel (seasonal attraction) is right opposite to Lansdowne hotel. And The Wish Tower, and the Lifeboat Museum (run by the RNLI), are both within a 5 minute walk.

Nice, clean well maintained public areas. Could do with more toilets. Good restaurants and bars, and a nice, if pebbly beach which was clean. Excellent long promenade, paved all the way with a fun looking pier facility.

Lovely sea front with no shops on the actual front. Great eating area on Carlisle Road. Disappointed that the train was supposed to be running along the prom but wasn't. Great hop on-hop off bus option.

We had two days in Eastbourne.
We had two days in Eastbourne. We went specifically to go to The Towner Art Galery which is a great space. We also took a sight seeing bus which took us around the coast. You can hop on and off and walk and get back on again. Walkig along the prom and onto the pier was great. We ate in a fabulous fish and chip restaurant called the holiday Inn near the Towner. A traditional British seaside resort. We stay at hotels on the seafront so terrific views. Easy walking to pier, theatres and bandstand. Plenty of cafes and restaurants. In my view, not Ideal for swimming, but I'm old. Bistro Pierre is a good place to eat, better and cheaper than the hotels. Downside for those with mobility issues is that there are no buses along the seafront south of the pier.

The room was very comfortable and had everything needed for a self-catering stay if that's what you prefer. Nice, large, firm double bed and great natural light, overlooking a pleasant green space behind the hotel. We did manage to set the fire alarm off whilst toasting waffles (well, burning them, actually), so it was good to see everything worked!

Location is a short walk to the east of the pier - far enough to not be bothered by any evening revellers but close enough to feel part of the ambiance. Bar snacks available as well as the restaurant and a nice choice for breakfast. Wheelchair access and lift available if needed.
