Chellowdene- 4 Star Silver Award  

We had a very friendly and helpful welcome. Everywhere was spotlessly clean warm with a very pleasant decor. Our room was small but adequate. We had a sea view and the beds were very comfortable. We had a private bathroom next door which was well equipped and convenient. We found the modern taps with shower were not very satisfactory but there was always hot water. Breakfast was well cooked and there was plenty of choice. The location of the hotel was very good just ten minutes from the town centre and two minutes from a delightful beach plus cafe and nearby gardens. The hotel is in a very quiet area yet not far from restaurants shops and railway station. Our three night stay was very enjoyable.

Some b and b rooms are depressing. This was the opposite - bright, clean and full of light. More savvy travellers will know that a private bathroom is not the same as an en suite. I hadn't grasped the distinction but I liked the way that Troy immediately brought me a dressing gown to preserve my modesty on the journey to the bathroom. Well cooked generous breakfast. Excellent location, very near the sea on a quiet road.

No mirror to show more than head and shoulders in either b or b in room 5. (Some might consider that a good point!) Small bath would be very difficult for elderly, deep with no handles. No shower, only hand held shower attachment. I'm sure that proprietors would have mentioned this if I had booked directly. This is a weakness of booking.com. There is no garden available to guests. This sounds petty but the proprietors will maybe find this small piece of negative feedback helpful. A tiny bit of bad feng shui hovered around the hospitality tray in the bedroom. Broken biscuits. Exposed tea bags - in a b and b I would prefer to see them in individual packets..

We stayed on the top floor, so could just about see the sea, although the room was quite a small double it worked well, and was nice and bright. Our bathroom was across the hall, all looked to be pretty new, bath with shower hose. Forced us to have a bath for a change which was nice. The owners are super-friendly and put on a wonderful breakfast. Car parking at the front a bit of a squeeze, but we had no problems moving cars around etc. overall we had a wonderful stay and would consider going back for sure.

Warm friendly welcome, a most enjoyable stay. We gained the clear impression that nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts and dining room 1st class, tailored to personal desires on request. We would be happy to recommend the Guest House to anyone.

Everything delivered (it did what it said on the box), What we wanted and wasn't provided was very little in overall terms. The following would have been perfection for us - the room was quite compact and we would have preferred a bit more space for the room price. We would have liked access to a small fridge although this would not be possible/reasonable because of the room size. I was surprised that there was no computer work station available for e-mails although broadband access was available if we had brought our own computer, we only have a desk-top at home.

The owners were extremely helpful and friendly. Certainly the cleanest guest house we have ever stayed in.Absolutely spotless in every detail. An excellent breakfast to start the day. We will most certainly be going back.

Not suitable for larger cars but great assistance given so this was not a problem.

We thought Falmouth looked like an interesting place due to it's history and the harbour. The reviews for Chellowdene appealed to both of us, which is the reason that we decided to stay there. We were very pleased with our accommodations. Our room had a double bed and we had our own bathroom on the same floor. Nice! This home was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Lots of choice. Great hosts!! No complaints. Highly recommend a stay here. Close to the train station, the beach and downtown. Couldn't have asked for more of anything - than the sun!!. Came back to Canada with many good memories. Thanks

Initial impression of Chellowdene was good as it was very clean and tidy. The hosts were warm and friendly and on arrival we were welcomed and given good information on local attractions and restaurants. The breakfast was very good and set us up for the day.

We were in room 4 and it is a little on the small side. Parking is quite tight but this is also true of other guest houses in close proximity to Chellowdene.

We received a warm welcome from the proprietors and immediately felt "at home". Our room was tastefully decorated, furnished, and equiped to high standards, with a balcony which afforded superb views of the beach and coastline and a pleasant spot to sit, take a coffee, and enjoy the sun - yes we did experience some warm sunny moments!!. The bed was very comfortable and the room was equipped with much attemtion to detail and thought for the guests' needs. The full English breakfast was beautifully cooked and presented with all the essentials, and served with a cheery smile in a well appointed dining room. Much attention to eco-factors and maximum use of Cornish produce. We would describe Chellowdene as a very homely and welcoming B & B (rather than a hotel) where one can enjoy all the comforts and ambience one would expect in one's own home - with someone else doing all the work! There is an excellent and moderately priced beechside restaurant 100 yards from Chellowdene which serves excellent food throughout the day and until 9.30 pm at night. We intend to stay again and have no hestitation in recommending it (and the local retaurant) to others seeking this type of accomodation, which we prefer to the impersonal nature of many so-called "luxury hotels".

The off-street car parking is bit congested but even though Chellowdene was full whilst we stayed, it did not cause us a problem

We were made extremely welcome, the Location was very good. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, and even the smallest detail looked after, Car parking was somewhat crowded and a little inconvenient, if you wanted to get out in a hurry, but I would not let this get in the way of another visit. I would have no reservations in recommending this hotel, and we will certainly visit again.
