Staff friendly accomodation good and great price
We were given a warm and very friendly welcome and lots of valuable help on how to get to places we need to. The room was cosy, comfortable and very clean and breakfast was lovely. Thanks to all involved for a very pleasant albeit brief stay.
There was nothing not to like
After a delayed flight, arriving to this friendly hotel was the most comforting experience. The staff is kind and helpful at all times. Going through a difficult trip and arriving at The Chelsea was like arriving home.
There wasn't anything to dislike.
Room was clean and comfortable. Good condition of decoration.
Shower did not have very good flow. Lots of doors banging late at night. Greeted by proprietor who remained behind a wrought iron door
Location - close to the station, and walking distance to the beach. Early check-in - other B&Bs in the area have later check-in times. Good sleep - didn't hear any noise and the bed was comfy. Nice & clean overall.
Very close to Bournemouth university. Very clean and calm. There are furnitures in the rooms to store clothes. Walking distance from downtown and from the beach. Ok for one or two nights.
It is forbidden to bring food in the hostel though you do not have access to any common kitchen... The simple beds are really small.
Price, budget price, ok for 1 night Cleanliness, no complaints at all Cat! I love cats and he/she is boss Pillows, were ok Kettle, worked well and clean Telly, worked well good choice of programmes
Mattress, as long as you don't move about you will be ok Outside noise, stags were out in force, but after reading reviews took earplugs which aided sleep Unsavoury people approaching me when getting in/out of car, I'm not easily intimidated but this could concern some
I was only at the Chelsea Hotel for one night on business but I had no problems with the hotel or the staff. I did not eat here due to needing to leave early for work , but overall it was a nice and pleasent stay, it was more than adequate for my needs. My room had been cleaned to a very high standard. I would certainly stay there again if I was in the area.
The only two problems where parking, which as far as I know is all on street and if you are not carful you might get a ticket, the only other aspect I found particularly unpleasant was the strong smell of spicy cooked food through out the hotel, but I am sure the management could rectify this quite easily with a few plug in air freshners. However it would not put me off staying again.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the shower was good. Located very close to the train station.
Parking on the streets in a residents only area was not ideal although the hotel does provide permits. The noise pollution from students and holiday makers outside was loud but there is not much the hotel can do about that. Breakfast is not served before 07.00 so not good if you have an early staff.
The lady who checked us in was lovely and very apologetic that the room wasn't ready. The room was clean and spacious. Good easy 15 minute walk to the beech.
Breakfast was not included with booking.com Wifi code wasn't offered and very difficult to locate a staff member to obtain it Bar was closed A very expensive stay for one night that was literally a place to sleep Called a Hotel when in fact it is just a B&B Parking permit not offered! We were lucky and didn't get caught, however others might not be so lucky!
Close to station and shops Saw one member of staff very friendly, very quiet.
Towels were no way big enough, only hand size towels to shower. Very dusty, clean towels were not put in next day and no toiletries provided
Absence of staff until I left, so no information about parking or where to go to eat. No hot water in wash basin.
Continental breakfast plenty of choice.
Close 2 good eating places
No en suite facility
Location, it would have been ideal even if I had arrived by train, as it is only a five minute walk to the Bournemouth rail station. The most valid part of my enjoyment was the politeness and friendliness of the housemaid. I paid for non en-suite, so you can not expect to moan about something you paid for, so the shared bathroom was kept clean and hence a pleasing stay. Location also close to Prom, which was awesome. Would stay there again for sure.
within 5 minutes walk of train and bus stations. My room on top floor was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff are very pleasant and helpful.
Just one small thing. While there was a full length mirror in the room it was nowhere near the plug sockets, bit difficult when using a hair drier. Otherwise nothing not to like.
Clean comfortable room. Plenty of storage space. Nice dining room. Breakfast very good. Shower/ toilet a bit small but the shower was very good. Toilet sanitised before I used it.
Slight problem in closing room door.
Small.had to phone on arrival to gain entry. Pricey for a guest house.
Proximity to railway station
The overall outside appearance was good but confusing as to if b&b or hotel (signage for both) colour scheme in room was good but furniture needs updating and less beds asked for twin ended up with 4 singles
Waiting ages to be let in. Hospitality pretty poor shown in without attempting any conversation or explaining facilities like wi fi, breakfast or surrounding areas attractions.
Good value, easy to book and stay, tidy and clean. Would definitely use again
No cooked breakfast, Narrow bed, No variety of tea, Couldn't connect to Wi-fi: Connection time-out(?) Towels smelled of vinegar
Convenient location, and nice room.
Don't arrive late! I didn't see the fact that check in was until 10pm on the website. I did see the request to e-mail my arrival time, and did so, saying that I would arrive on the 22.15 train. I got to the front door of the Chelsea Hotel at 22.20 in a howling gale and deluge of rain, and the owner was EXCEEDINGLY unimpressed. I had come down from Birmingham straight from work for a funeral the next morning. I didn't think she would let me in....... don't arrive late!!
Reception on arrival. Comfort and cleaniness
the room was very nice, simple and uncrowded. i was able to transfer to the room my brother was in as it was a double room.
i had a cup that leaked due to it being cracked, the beds were too small, the kettle was broken, the power socket was not accessible easily, the key to the front door was bent before we were given it so it was rendered unusable having then to wait for replacement.
