Clean, warm and Convenient for london overground line
The room was very noisy, we could hear the other guests moving around.
The room is not very big but tidy and very easy to find
Some noisy very disturb
The room was a good size, shower was really powerful. The bed was big and very comfortable and the room was warm. Very good for the price we paid which was £65 for the night, couldn't fault it.
Have stayed many times with modernisation still on going. Still good value for money though.
Lovely staff. Room has a bed and a bathroom. What more do you need. Rooms are dated, but who cares when everything is clean.
Lovely clean room and en suite, all staff very helpful, we shall certainly use this hotel if we are ever in London again
The staff was warm & friendly ..shower had plenty of hot water ...
Double bed broken in the room but didn't notice till 11 o'clock at night but was so tired and with 2 children it was too late to change rooms. Room needs better lighting .. Broken blind in bathroom ..flooring needs replacing in rooms
My Boyfriend and I travel for 3 days to London and the accommodation was perfect for that trip. With bus and tube we were in 20 minutes at Victoria station. Very nice and helpfully personal, e.g. we could borrow an adapter for socket for free! The breakfast was filling and good. The price was excellent! The room small but nice with a cupboard and a wardrobe and a well-working TV.
In the enviroment from the hostel is only a few kiosk, McDonalds and the café where we went for breakfast, so it's rather outlying. Our room was next to the street, so when you open the window, the noise could be very loud. But it was not desturbing while sleeping when the window was closed. The washbasin was very small and there were no hairdryer.
Clean , towels provided , nice if not stark room. Great staff , Brixton academy easily accessible by bus , warm room, working television, wide range of shops nearby and macdonald's next door, shower was great
Stayed here a couple of years ago and there were no drink making facilities this time they were in the superior rooms tho, traffic noise kept me awake as there was no double glazing or sound proofing so I had to wear earplugs. Only one very flat pillow.will book a superior room next time!!!
no Cons as for the price it was great value.
Cleanliness, location, size of room, friendly staff.
No kettle, temperamental shower, only 1 thin pillow each.
Good location and helpful friendly staff
Had 3 single beds instead of a double. Only one pillow each too
Friendly welcome and clean room. Basic, but fine on a budget.
Our 2nd. visit to this Guest House. Stayed in room 23 (Basement/Garden Room) Staff excellent. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and nothing too much trouble. Clean room.Towels changed, bed & room tidied, clean cups, replaced loo rolls etc every day. Comfy bed for sleeping...dreadfully uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time. Good breakfast at good price (portions a bit too big) Great location. Easy bus access to city centre, shops, Notting Hill (Portabello Rd) and Vauxhall Bus Station for connections to most places. Buses frequent & plentiful. Few niggles, but would stay here again because staff are helpful enough to sort out problems quickly when they are asked. Had a really good few days break.
First time we stayed coffee/tea making facilities, toiletries and hairdryer were standard for same price room. These now only seem to be offered in Priority rooms at extra cost, but when I asked for hairdryer and kettle, they were provided immediatley by very helpful staff, at no extra charge. Thanks. Double room smaller than twin room we had on first visit. Bed quite close to wall on one side. Only 1 straight back chair in room. Bed one of those new very low (almost futon) beds. Very comfortable to sleep on, but VERY uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time..watching TV etc. Need comfy chair. TV on wall bracket, too high, especially when sitting on bed. Better if you actually get in to bed. Only 1 pillow provided as standard, more pillows provided within 2 minutes of asking. Room BOILING HOT. Believe we could have had fan, but noise would have kept us awake at night. Window opened but not very wide, obviously for security reasons, to let in air. Metal shutters on windows. Lock painted over and no key provided. We were in basement and would have found it very difficult to navigate through doors, corridors and up stairs in fire. Would stay here again, but the niggles should really be addressed as standard e.g. more & better quality pillows, keys for window grills etc.....
Direct and frequent bus to hub of London
Considering the price, I could not believe the hotel could live up to the great reveiws I read about it before booking. But how wrong I was! Fantastic facilities, lovely, charming, and helpful staff, combined with amazing value for money. I'm looking forward to staying again!
Excellent position. Just 15 mins by bus to the city center. Room is new and very very clean...almost impossible for London standards.Staff helpful and nice. I will definitely go back to this hotel if i'll be in London again.
Staff were helpful. Towels were decent.
No mirror, hairdryer, tea or coffee facilities available in the room. No glasses in the bathroom. It was very basic. Beds and a wardrobe and a fold up chair. We had a triple room and there were 2 of us, 3 would have been cramped.
Mattress smelly and thin Room had overbearing smell of stale cigarette smoke Constant traffic noise Dirty shower cubicle
Bathroom was new but lacked shelf and hanging space. The beds were clean and comfortable but the pillows were poor.
No lift so anyone who struggles with stairs would find it a problem. The road in front of the hotel is busy and noisy. It was too far from the nearest tube station but the bus service was close by and was on a direct route to the centre.
Helpful front desk team, kuds lovef we were besides a McDonals's :)
The view fron our sutetrain room.
I like the receptionist who checked me in on Monday the 3rd of November 2014 @ 11:00am she was so nice and talk to me in a very polite manner and finally checked me into room no. 5 just next to the reception office. I was impressed and felt at home. such a wonderful person could increase efficiency and production of customer satisfaction good portray for business. Thanks to her wonderful work done.
the reception who took over in the late hour the same day was more than the word rude, she came banging my door about 15h30 shouting on me regardless the tranquillity of my 6 weeks old baby born just because I use the hotel car park which no prior information was given me not to do so. I was so confused and disappointed, I could have moved out if I have another choice. such behaviour could drive away most customers.
Too far to the shopping malls.
Easy to get to, clean and comfortable, very helpful and friendly staff.
