Score from 425 reviews Very good
The house is quite classical and a pleasant place to be. Itv is quiet and restful after a long day. I enjoyed the bath.
The bed in my room was a bit creaky.
Breakfast & the gentleman serving friendly & courteous, parking space available,& breakfast was good in a nice setting.sheets were clean,
Thin, hard towels, unwelcoming arrival, were double booked & we had to pay extra & have 2 single beds instead of the double we booked room was clean but dated, toilet didn't work well, shower not the best.room became draughts & a little cold during the night, weren't able to control the heating.
Very pleasant one night stay in the small twin room (quite adequate for two people) bed comfy, crisp white bed linen, Breakfast was excellent, would recommend a stay.
so clean, the male staff was so nice and welcoming
The female staff was so impolite, rude and impatient, rushed us out even before our checkout time ...my friend felt so bad
Clean, comfortable room. Lovely breakfast.
The room was nice and with some heating would have been fine. The building was significant with some pleasant victorian features. It was centrally located and quiet. The breakfast was good .
Their was no heat at all and this was in late November. We have never been so cold anywhere we have been. We had to put clothes on instead of taking them off.The room was called Africa but it was more like Antartica. We had Zebra throws but the likeliest creature to walk in would have been a Polar Bear.It was warmer outside than inside. The shower was a dribble but we wanted to stay under it rather than come back into the room. The toilet smelled of bad drains and it was a very unpleasant experience.
The owner was very freindly and a talented artist. Many of her paintings were displayed and available to purchase. The room was small but had character and was comfortable.
The owners dog was very smelly!
Location, comfort, size of room, breakfast, car parking, the friendliness and warmth of the male owner
The unfriendliness of the woman owner. I made up my mind not to let it spoil our visit, but I wouldn't stay again for that reason alone. Also, wifi was dodgy.
Nice stay convenient location and good breakfast
Nothing too put here
The bath was good
The owner was rude; the shower was poor. How this place ever got a 7.7 rating escapes me. It rather makes one question the value of the rating system
Comfortable clean bed
Unfriendly proprietor who gave no welcome and asked for payment as soon as we came in the front door. Smell of dog in the house and dog in breakfast room begging for food at table Gaudy room decor in so-called African room (why in Cheltenham?) No goodbye or thank you for staying/was everything satisfactory when we left
Friendliness of owner, well appointed room, comfortable bed, 1st class breakfast, only15 mins walk from city centre.
Good situation in relation to shops etc. Good customer service, pleasant hosts. Food and comfort of room were fine
Some difficulty in parking as street was full when I returned in the evening 2nd night and had to park on the main road
Comfortable room. Good breakfast
Food and bed
Greeting was a bit flat by the lady of the house!
warm and friendly
Welcoming host/hostess Comfortable room Fine breakfast Freedom to come and go Beautiful Paintings on the walls
Parking was a bit difficult. The first night I was there, there was no room to park in Eldon (side) road or on the property. I had to park out on the main road, but that seemed alright.
Everything was clean & my bed very comfy. Breakfast was good offering a wide range of menu. Overall good value for money.
Noisy guests in other rooms & in hallways. Not impressed with staff noisily cleaning rooms before 8am on Sunday!
the room could have done with a little dusting wasn't a great deal of parking on property so parked out on street.
Everything was fine
the fact that the room was too hot we could have done with a fan
Friendly - comfortable - quiet
parking the car so far away
comfortable room Good access
Located nr to the city centre-we had to go tothe UNI nearby so it was in a good spot to walk there & drive later! Nothing wrong with the breakfast-not much chat from the host though! Guess she was a busy person! It was also a quiet location!
nothing to dislike
Quiet location convenient to city centre. Big room but a little dated. Very good breakfast.
Owner didn't have the friendliest of demeanours.
The owners were not very sociable or people orientated. The first words spoken to us were not as you might expect, "hello" or "Have you had a good journey" or "Did you find us ok"? No the first words were "How are you going to pay?" In addition the lady never introduced herself or her husband. Sad really.
