Very good breakfast, pool was nice, bar is very smart, nice grounds, great location for exploring the cotswolds, by far the best part was the clock tower bar where we got excellent value on our evening meals it runs a two main meals for the price of one offer every day which meant we got our two main courses drinks and desserts for around £20 in total so that was a great saving plus the food is actually very good. Strange smell every time we entered the room which really bugged me and the room was way too warm at night we found it very hard to sleep the first night. There is no lift down to the pool area and we were very far away and so had to walk quite a distance including through the main lobby area to get to the pool. However we felt these were minor enough problems and we would still stay there again.

Nice breakfast with plenty of choice and friendly breakfast staff. Basically a 3* hotel which somehow has a 4* rating. Lots of facilities were very grotty and shabby. The curtains in our room had a huge hole in them and were disintegrating and the room hadn't been hoovered. The "spa" area was pretty grotty, no nicer than the local leisure centre with mouldy, rusting showers. Not a relaxing experience at all.

Hen do spa package Bar staff were quite rude. Due to having no ventilation the bathroom became a sauna after a shower.

It's a pleasant, old fashioned hotel with full spa facilities in a lovely location for visiting the Cotswolds. Staff were helpful and most pleasant and the breakfast very good. Next door is good value pub if you don't want to pay hotel prices for an evening meal. The room (216) on the top floor was what we requested with a beautiful view over the golf course and surrounding countryside. However, the bathroom sink was appalling - badly cracked and marked and really needs replacing. If you can overlook that, you'll find it ok. The tv needs updating, but you can watch sports in the lounge downstairs! If you have trouble with stairs, request ground floor as there is no lift, but they do have special accessible rooms in another area of the hotel.

Pleasant hotel with good swim/spa facilities Whilst menu was quite good and certainly good value, the restaurant lacked the ambience it could have had given the setting of the hotel

A beautiful building well situated for shopping and or doing the cotswolds. An extremely comfortable bed and quiet room. We slept like logs, got up for a quick work out in the gym and then followed by a lovely breakfast. Huge selection.

Reasonably priced with a good location for Cheltenham. The hotel is a 3 star at best and the unmodernised rooms are large but very dated.

We liked using the pool before and after our excursions, and the breakfasts were pretty good. The proximity of the clocktower gave an alternative place to eat. We didn't like being in the attic - too many stairs, small room, uncomfortable beds

Location was good as near to lots of golf clubs.Breakfast was a very good spread but think the continental was a bit unimaginative though but there was plenty more to choose from ! Good room and was given the requested room of a view over golf course even though I booked late The drinks in the bar were quite expensive especially a double gin and tonic nine pounds !!

The location, I had requested rooms which had a pretty and cheerful outlook. This was honoured and both rooms overlooked the pretty lake and trees. I was very grateful my request had been arranged. An ample breakfast, buffet was the normal you find at big hotels but the menu offered freshly cooked food too

Excellent breakfast The fact that our room was below ground level with no view and having to travel down four flights of stairs from ground floor Reception to the room. Noise from people walking along the long corridors on our floor and floor above - not noisy people but simply the noise of feet..

“We were very happy with our choice of this hotel. It is in a fairly quiet area, but an easy walk to Cheltenham town center (less than a mile) and the main bus stop (about a mile). The rooms were very clean and the owners were just wonderful. Friendly and helpful, as was the rest of the staff. They made us feel welcome and at home. We were served hot breakfast each morning. There is a restaurant with both a pub menu and formal menu (and full bar) - the options are varied and the food was fabulous. We had our 4 year old with us and they were great in accommodating special food requests for her. She begged to eat dinner there every night. Our family suite actually had a separate room for her, which was a nice surprise. We were there two weeks and had a great experience. ” Mikal, Jacksonville |
