The public areas were nicely decorated, created a good atmosphere and were welcoming. The rooms were not up to the standard of the public areas- felt the money had been spent on the restaurant, pool, etc and not on the quality of the rooms. |

I booked on behalf of my daughter and son-in-law. They gave me imp-ression from which I have answered so far but cannot say anything specific here Yes. I very nearly looked elsewhere for their spa weekend because reception were so unhelpful. I tried to book on the phone at 9pm after my daughter's original plans for the weekend fell through. I was amazed that no one would accept a booking over the phone. I use hotels all the time and have never encountered this before. I was more amazed at the total lack of sympathy from the cold lady on reception. She put my 9 pm phone call through to the booking team which of course was on answer phone because they were closed! I have to assume she knew this, since its hotel policy & when I phoned in again she told me without hesitation that the booking team go home at 5 pm. There was no relpy to my "so, why did you put me through first time?" |

Lovely view from the room and very comfortable bed I was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the hotel, whole hotel was dreary, staff were poor and unknowledgable and inattentive. I was charged twice for my stay due to incompetence. |

The hotel room was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly. Maybe I would not classify it as a four star hotel, more as a good 3* hotel. |

Pleasant and helpful staff, huge beds and very comfy, lovely hotel. Good pub with cheap meals next door. Heard the heavy fire doors closing at night. |

Location and entrance hall Waiting staff apathetic, poor quality food at premium prices, room very old fashioned, room and corridors did not match claimed decor or 4 star rating. |

Excellent spa and dining facilities. Poor condition of decor in rooms.Only one receptionist on booking in. Long q of at least 15 people meant a wait of 30 minutes. Just not good enough. |

Nice room. We wre not there overnight, just for the afternoon and eveningof a family wedding so did not fully use/see the facilities, which is why I have not answered section 2 of this form. Very hard to understand the bill for items put onto the room number. Bill at checking out was structured in such a way that it was hard to see what you were being charged for: it was split down into items that were hard to relate to the bar bills we had signed for. |

The room was decorated to an exellent standard bed very comfortable. Breakfast was paricularry good with the buffet being constantly refreshed ( as opposed to some hotels wher food is left out for too long). The dinning times should be extended 9PM is too early to finish for dinner - or the 24/7 menu extended. There shoudl also be more coverage of other television channels. |

The staff were nice and the fact there was a 24 hour reception suited our needs very well. We paid extra for a premium room (called the presidential suite), which it most certainly was not. It was meant to have a spectacular view of the lake. Firstly there is no lake and secondly the babbling brook is actually a muddy hole. Our view was a patch of stinging nettles, a drainage hole with a yellow warning sign and trees about 10 metres from the window. Awful. The food in the restaurant is like cheap pub food and the wine is very expensive. This is not a four star hotel in my opinion and I have stayed in very many four and five star hotels. I certainly wouldn't waste my money on it again. Also, don't bother ordering a paper, as ours never turned up and when I checked out the next chap in the queue was also complaining about it. |

Convenient location close to Cheltenham (although need a car as not in town centre), decent swimming pool & sauna/steam/spa facilities but nothing exceptional. Fairly quiet with nice views over the golf course. "Faded grandeur" type hotel in desperate need of massive investment. Must have been ideal as a wedding venue years ago but no longer the case in our opinion. Gardens/grounds completely neglected. General feeling of neglect throughout the hotel. Most of the rooms are located in a huge 70s-looking extension on the side (with very long corridors), so most guests won't actually stay in the main part of the hotel. Buffet breakfast was good, spa facilities are adequate. Re. staff, no particular effort on customer care, just the minimum. We booked a double room on a £49 non refundable breakfast included deal and thought this was a fantastic bargain, but having stayed there, this price is just about right & fair. |

We have stayed several times at this hotel due to having family in the area and have aways found the staff to be very helpful and the room clean and comfortable. I have read bad reviews about the breakfast but have never been disappointed by the food or the service. |

Very comfortable bed and good sized on-suite. Excellent meal in the hotel restaurant. The leisure facilities were excellent and there was a wide range of competitively priced treatments available I found that the bedroom was a bit too warm at night and there was no air conditioning. |

Without doubt the leisure club was the best feature. There's nothing better for me than starting the morning with a short session in the gym and pool - and finishing the evening the samwe way, but with the sauna and jacuzzi added on! Two things I wasn't comfortable with: 1. The hotel was way too hot for comfort. 2. A couple of lights/ switches in my room (218)didn't work |

Good dining room. Was slightly disappointed. We had what seemed like a 200 yard walk along a corridor to our room. There were a lot of steps and we had a baby in a pram so it wasn't convenient. Also the hotel was quite far out of the centre of the town. |
