fixtures and fittings slightly tired and 1980'ish. Rather traditional could be a little more modern in style.

Location was excellent for a visit to the racecourse. A nice hotel but furnishings a bit tired. Comfy bed and excellent breakfast.

Could hear talking in next room and televisions at night when I wanted to sleep. Had asked for a quiet room. Bit overpriced.

Location Facilities Staff were friendly and helpful

The first room that I was allocated was very poor, the bathroom had not even been cleaned, however I was moved to a nice room within 10 minutes. Shower was not very powerful

Being told to be quiet out on beer garden at10pm.

The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful and the general upkeep of the hotel and its location were very good. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was most enjoyable.

The attitude of the bar staff and the housekeeping staff. It was not a case of nothing was too much trouble but more the opposite. The bar staff were very inflexible when trying to obtain a drink later on in the evening and being lovers of real ale we were very unimpressed to find that, when the hotel was so busy with functions, the only real ale on tap had already run out before we even arrived. Also, we were appalled when the housemaid knocked on the door at 10.15 and asked why we hadn't left the room yet when we answered the door. We understand that they wanted to get on with cleaning the room but checkout time was 11.00 and we had only just returned from having our breakfast. There was no 'sorry to disturb you' when we answered the door and she really made a point of wanting to get into the room and get on with her work. Not impressed at all with either of these situations. Furthermore we made a special request when booking to have a room with a view as the hotel made a big point of the views over the golf course - the only view we had was that of the car park (where a mobile disco was unloading and loading up again late at night outside our window) and again there was no mention of our request nor an explanation of and apology for the fact that it could not be met.

The waiter in the bar (from Birmingham) friendly and helpful. Unusually for us, after going out for dinner, we went into the bar for a drink before we retired to bed. I guess it because of the welcome we had from him on the first night of our stay that made us go back.

Lack of shower cap and tissues in the bathroom. Noisy at times because of the parties around us. The breakfast (bacon) was cold and the eggs were like rubber.

Comfortable room with good facilities. Excellent breakfast & friendly staff

Room overlooked the car park, but there again a good rate so can't really complain. No real grounds to walk around.

conference rooms and restaurant were really hot and the rooms were airless checking in and out was a very slow process the layout of the hotel was quite confusing lack of bar staff in the evenings

The breakfast was lovely, the room was spacious, warm and clean. Lovely hotel.

The bed was uncomfortable for me but my husband said it was really cosy!

The rooms are old school but comfortable. A little mumsy but I liked them- felt homely.

Menu offering really poor for room service. 24 hour service in rooms offer only sandwiches and a chicken masala! Concierge service not to be seen or noted. Staff aloof and impolite. No stepping aside for guests or smiles offered. Overall nor a great experience. Could do with a face lift from a staffing and building perspective

Our spacious hotel room, the bed was very comfortable, location of the hotel, helpful staff.

Internet connection was very poor, problem with TV so we moved rooms, spa very noisy when having our treatments.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff were really friendly, paid a great price for excellent standard of accommodation.

Only negative was that drinks and food were quite expensive.

Beautiful building

Spa over priced. Hotel Staff disinterested. Building lacks character internally other than reception area. Internet didn't work for duration of our stay.

Breakfast was cold

The kingsize bed and the pillows were very comfortable and the shower worked well. The breakfast food was very good and there was a nice view from the restaurant window. (With the snow falling it was rather like sitting in a snow globe - very pretty.) The staff were also very pleasant.

Unfortunately I slipped on the stairs and badly bruised my back which did spoil the weekend somewhat. Also the weather wasn't very pleasant!

Why do they advertise fee wifi when all they give you is 512k which is hard to use to do basic google searches and then want to charge £6 for 24 hours to upgrade to google - and it only works on one device - will not be returning until policy is chaged

The excellent service from all those attending in the restaurant. Welcoming, friendly, efficient, helpful making the experience relaxing and a pleasure. Excellent attention to my dietary requirements as a diagnosed Coeliac and requiring an essentially gluten free diet. Please thank them all.

The hotel staff were first class from arrival to departure. and very pleasant surroundings

No lifts. I have leg problems after a tiring day I found climbing the srairs painfull

Cleanliness. Facilities eg: swimming pool,spa,sauna, wifi. Real ale. Bar food. Friendly helpful courteous staff. Large clean room with a lovely view. Good location.

Breakfast - not acceptable after being kept hot in a Bain Marie, would have expected cooked to order for such a high class establishment. Steam room out of order.

The room and staff were good also the hotel generally was nice.

The food prices were unbelievably expensive both lunch and breakfast at the hotel. The restaurant attached was very reasonable for lunch,head into local town for breakfast with trimmings for two works out the same price for one at the hotel.

comfortable bed good size room the breakfast was fantastic great choice available; all the staff were lovely very helpful only stayed one night so dident use spa but it looked very nice. we would stay here again . marie wright coventry
