The breakfast was exceptionally good for the price! The shower had a really good pressure! The room was nice, clean and big.
The carpets on the corridor seemed a little run down. This gave a bad first impression and we were wondering why they don't replace them...
the staff were very friendly and helpful could not fault at all rooms were clean although not luxurious very satisfied
limitations on menu for dinner bed and breakfast package were not told we would have a small allowance for dinner thought quite expensive for menu provided in package.
The staff were so attentive and it made all the difference. I had a dripping tap and fidelity heating but all were addressed within minutes. I would definitely stay again! Loved the big car park, too!
Little bit chilly in my room at first... But was soon addressed. The maintenance team were outstanding and reception, too. Please pass on my congratulations....
The mattress was very good and firm. The room we had have been refurbished recently and very quiet. The breakfast was included and ok
The seating plan for the breakfast, large round table of 12 peoples or more. It would have been nice to have smaller table.
Excellent location in heart of Newbury. Many restaurants and pubs handy. Good parking and great value for money
Didn't try the restaurant but looked good.
Great location, good food and brilliant room
bar a little souless
Size of rooms and cleanliness of them. Bar an was really lovely and friendly
The rest of the hotel needed modernising a bit. The stairs were odd too - going through a door at the top of a flight then through another door for the next flight - no doubt for h&s but tricky with luggage. Also we wanted to sit in garden and were directed out there but no seating!
It was clean
The room was very small, I have not room to even place my laggage to open it up. No closet space available. I am not even talking about mini bar. I could not order room service, because there was nowhee to eat other than on bed. It had two windows, one looking at the roof of the building next door and the other on the public parking lot, which had a lot of noise.
A good sized room with plenty of parking immediately outside.Quiet location so a good night of undisturbed sleep.
Would have been useful to have an additional electric socket near the bedside table
I had a spacious room which was clean and pleasant.
there was no lift and as an amputee this made things difficult also my room had a shower over the bath which again made it difficult and a little dangerous for me.
The staff were extremely helpful.
There was no lift.
Overall a lovely place to stay, my husband and I stayed on our wedding night, appart fromno effort made by hotel to congratulate us, and the bed being rather loud when my husband fidgeted in his sleep, making and exta activity out of the question or the guests next doo would have had to listen! The hotel itself was lovely.
Large bedroom very comfortably arranged. 24 hour access invaluable. As we arrived during the night carrying the minimum of baggage the tea/coffee facilities much appreciated. Can walk straight from the hotel into the High Street.
Cheap Big rooms Convenience
Slightly tired bed
The hotel is a little tired but the price reflected this - it was very reasonable. Flower boxes looked dingy and the overall appearance of the rooms could do with a lick of paint
Whilst the exterior of the hotel looks a bit tired and unloved, our bedroom was very comfortable. A big room with double bed and sofa bed, good TV, tea and coffee and a good sized bathroom. Breakfast was excellent too. I would definitely stay here again.
The only criticism I would have is that having checked in, I called Reception to see if I could extend my stay by an extra night at the same rate as paid on Booking.com. They said they couldn't do it, so I had to log into Booking.com to book the second night's accommodation in order to get the same rate. The difference was only £10, but as they say - every little helps. A little bit pedantic of the staff on duty and left me feeling annoyed.
was a good hotel good pricing was so helpful with the fact I need ground fool room as my wife disabled very clean and all round comfort thanks
web had breakfasts but as it was help your self stile some was could of it the bathroom door not close that good did tell staff so hope is now fixed
Roomy and airy rooms with hotel in good position. Wifi was strong and free and the free carparking was also a plus.
The hotel looked as if it needed a good paint in and out. Dead window boxes did not enhance the first impression.
The breakfast on the first night room was a nice size
The noise from the bar up the street . The noise from the wedding in the hotel .the breakfast on the second morning we stayed was cold was served in a different room as a buffet .catering for wedding guests .
The location, the staff, the breakfast.
The stairs to rooms.
I could not fault the facilities in the hotel and will definitely stay there again when next in Newbury
I stayed in room 305 but the floorboards in the bedroom above were somewhat creaky when the occupant above moved about
Great all round stay, nothing to dislike and made welcome. Food highly brecommended.
Location, large room and considerate of single occupancy female quests.
The hotel is probably clean but it's rather down at heel so doesn't feel it. There's no way of getting in the hotel after 11pm if you haven't got use of a mobile phone. A door bell and/or keys for guests are needed.
