Nice clean recently decorated room but no wardrobe!!!
No wardrobe in bedroom! Why? Bar and dining area tatty and tired
The size and comfort of the bedrooms. The excellent home cooked food. Such good value
Music a little too loud in the bar
Staff were very helpful and friendly, room was fine and the breakfast was excellent
the lady and gentleman when i arrived were very good and friendly , ( shame i didnt see them again ) the location was good , but didnt get the feeling they were making the most of this ???
the waitress at breakfast was good but 2 ladies speaking to her were more interested in themselves and one actually swore during a conversation ( un professional ). the breakfast area wasnt good and i felt i was intuding ! the room was ok ( room 2 ) but there is nowhere to hang any clothes ??. although i didnt use the pub i was a little suprised the opening hours were so little ! it wasnt open at 4pm and was closed again before 10.30pm. this hotel could be very good , but i got the feeling people didnt really care and were just going through the routine !!!
The staff were very nice , liked the location
Facilities could be updated
Nothing ~ never again
Rude management, poor food, dreadfully uncomfortable old coil sprung mattress bed. A dreadful stay
Room had not been made up. Second room had a bad smell. Third room offered was clean and tidy. No food in the evening or breakfast available.
we couldn't gain access to main part of the premises at 9-00am for our breakfast, the place was empty and so were our tummies.
Arriving to a nice warm room
The friendliness of the staff and how quickly they got us booked in and settled. Any request we made was dealt with efficiently and with a smile. Its a charming place, with great food, a real little gem that we will be taking the family along to next time.
The price was so cheap at £25 incl breakfast I didn't think it would be up to much , but as it's a Marstons' owned place you can rest assured the name of the Brewery is at stake so guaranteed good value for money. Roast dinner off the carvery was kept open for me as I was going to miss it. They gave me a little tour etc.
Location in a sleepy village was still a few miles (on not too unpleasant country roads for a motorbike) from the M6.
The accommodation was ok for an old country inn; room clean and en-suite adequate.
The presentation and content of breakfast left much to be desired: only white 'plastic' bread for toasting, one morning the milk was in its plastic jug, fruit juice in the carton. Old fashioned TV in the room which only worked the first night! I would think twice about going again!
the bathroom and towels. the bed linen
the double bed was very creaky
staff rude breakfast disgusting, dirty knives, cracks in cups, dirty tables do i need to continue. no evening menu no booking when we arrived placed by booking .com
Tom, the new Manager was very keen and friendly.
Bedroom and bathroon requiring a very good clean. Continental breakfast offered was actually a loaf of bread and a toaster to make ones own toast! Female who was on "breakfast " duty seeemd more interested in a group of workmen staying - they DID get a full English! Recommendation to anyone looking to stay here - take your "High Vis" jacket to get any service.
Big room, relaxed atmosphere and good price
Was in room 1 where the bar music carried up the chimney
The room was nice and clean with good facilities
No food available on Sunday evening which after a long drive was not acceptable and no hot breakfast available as had no chef in plus had run out of supplies when it was advertised as such. It was a little bit like Fawlty Towers.
Very nice pub with rooms. Excellent and friendly bar staff. Good evening meal.
Booked and charged for a twin room but got a very small cramped single room. No cooked breakfast.
The staff and service. Breakfast was not so much served as dragged together. We gave up on the second morning, asked for our money back for breakfast - was given £10 and went elsewhere !
Friendly accommodating staff.
Not 24h access.

Had to change rooms, mine hadn't been cleaned (at 7.30PM) On the night I stayed the kitchen was closed - no other facility's nearby - no evening meal - breakfast starts at 7.30 AM as I was leaving at 7.00AM - no breakfast
moaning staff when booking in. cobwebs in room, fixtures loose in bathroom, lumpy bed. sour beer.
Booking was muddled room was not made up room was dirty bar had run out of gin and vodka the breakfast was poor. No fruit juice or cereal, toast was buttered and served on a large plate for tables to share no marmalade or jam room rate was overpriced on booking.com by £15 per room
