Food was excellent both breakfast and dinner
Room 3 was a little small
ambience, friendly staff, comfortable room, good food
packet cereals at breakfast
We liked everything , the room was very comfortable, and the food was excellent. .
Rooms are very comfortable and clean. Food is excellent and freshly cooked to order. A beautiful little hotel my little bit of luxury.
Its position, its friendliness, and our Room was great where it was easy to relax. The food was of high standard too !
Food was maybe a little expensive and the shower was basic and cramped.
The hotel room and ensuite bathroom were very clean and comfortable. The staff were also friendly and happily accommodated my bedding requirements (I have an allergy to down). I would be quite likely to stay here again if I was looking for a B&B in this area again.
There weren't many aspects of this hotel that I didn't like but the nearby church does chime every hour throughout the night - fortunately not loudly enough to keep me awake.
Friendly & obliging staff. Hearty Breakfast. Relaxing Venue. Very comfortable Room.
room was very nice and food was very good. felt very welcome. would definitely stay there again
Breakfast inclusive and high quality Friendly helpful staff Cleanliness
Very friendly staff. Excellent food both breakfast and dinner. Atmospheric hotel with cottagy feel. Beautiful countryside nearby.
Very friendly staff. Well worth a visit. Good value .
Fresh, local food. Lovely staff. Still a renovation in progress !
Noisy room ,unmodernised on main road ,broken sash windows ,very hot.
We received a warm welcome. Staff and atmosphere was homely, relaxing and comfortable and food of a very high quality. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Definately will be here again.
Our bedroom was hard on the A29 so therefore traffic noise was a tad much at times.
Good food in restaurant overlooking pretty garden.
Room was next to busy main road so could not keep windows open at night. No air conditioning, fortunately there was a ceiling fan.
Very helpful owners & staff Food excellent Comfortable room Pretty garden to sit in Countryside views
Everything! This was our third stay at Chequers and the quality of the accommodation and food hasn't changed since our first visit. Excellent value and lovely peaceful yet convenient location.
Comfortable beds very clean relaxed atmosphere friendly staff
nothing to report
Very Friendly and very helpful
First of all, the hotel is very close both to the train station and to the local high street (which, interestingly, is called Lower Street), which was very important to us as we don't have a car and were travelling by train. The RSPB nature reserve can be easily reached as well. We were glad to find maps of various walking trails in our hotel room, including a map showing how to get to the nature reserve. The room was very comfortable, with a big bath that was thoroughly enjoyable after a long day's walk. The restaurant is wonderful: it is sort of conservatory-like, and you get a great view of the garden wherever you sit. The food is good also, especially the yoghurts you can get for breakfast. We really liked the sitting room with the fireplace, and even though it was not lit (too warm for that at this time of year), there was still a pleasant scent of logs and ash. The building itself is quite old and aesthetically pleasing. I can definitely recommend Chequers Hotel to anyone who wants to have a relaxing time in the English countryside.
The location was perfect my purpose. The food was very good and the newly refurbished room was very comfortable. Great coffee maker in the room too!
Wifi was'nt great.
Very friendly helpful staff.
Room was a bit small.
Despite being the emd of May, ot was really chilly and very pleasingly a log-fire had been made in the cosy lounge where we had tea and sat for a lovely hour. Place is like a Tardis-big on inside with delightful conservatory restsurant with excellent food and two attentive and very friendly waiting staff.
Although it didn't keep us awake due to secondary double glazing, we might ask for a room that doesn't front the busy road but not a problem and will stay here again and in same room if nothing else available.
Pleasant room. Very comfortable bed. Excellant choice and quality of breakfast. Very tasty evening meals.
Exquisite old world charm combined with modern high quality fixtures make this small hotel a real find. We stayed in the four-poster room, and that, combined with the low beamed ceilings, character furniture and old squeaking floorboard gave the room an unforgettable character. Breakfast in the morning, servers overlooking the garden that had been landscaped to resemble a wild meadow, was really very good. With options including home smoked ham and smoked salmon, this hotel should cater for even the most dis concerning foodies. Pulborough itself is a charming mid sussex village close to many local tourist attractions and within easy reach of both London and the south coast. Will definitely be staying here again 10/10 easy.
The coffee machine was a nice touch but quite difficult to use. However a kettle was also supplied so no real complaint.
