I stayed with my sister for two nights in January. We were very impressed by the facilities and the service provided by Chris and Liz. They gave us very useful information about getting into Cambridge for the day and which pub to go to for dinner The breakfast was wonderful and the bedroom and ensuite of a clean and high standard. Would recommend to anyone.
Just simply a nice place to stay. Hosts VERY welcoming, and helpful. Room comfortable ( plenty of pillars) We have travelled all over the world but the breakfast here is the best we've had. Very clean - as I say just a lovely place.
nothing to dislike.
Had a great welcome as soon as I arrived. The bedroom was brilliant. Breakfast was very filling, I wish I went for the smaller option now. Great peaceful location.
Such nice people, fantastic breakfast & loved the home made breads. Nice size room with all necessities & very clean & well presented. Lovely village setting offering good dining out @ very reasonably prices, I visited The Three Jolly Butchers, great steak & kidney pie. Would definitely not hesitate to stay again, thank you.
Only stayed one night
Comfort bed Good lighting Quite Warm Refreshment facilities in room Large bath room Good breakfast Friendly atmosphere
Toilet - needed flushing more than once No quick instruction to work out how the TV work No TV signal in the morning and only basic 5 channels
Very friendly and comfortable
Very friendly owners, spacious room and a delicious breakfast! I highly recommend this place!
Lovely Village, nice pubs walking distance from location, quality breakfast and a great nights sleep. Lovely.
The welcome I received on arrival, the room and bathroom were were super clean, spacious and the room was very comfortable. An excellent breakfast too. The owners were very thoughtful and helpful. Just a great place to stay!
The village is lovely with two pubs doing food. Breakfast was mostly excellent, the menu warns that the full breakfast is very large; I can believe this because even though I didn't order it I did get generous servings of what I did order! Not only generous but good quality and well cooked. Room modern, on the large side for a B&B, very well appointed and in good repair, bed not quite up to chain hotel standards but still comfortable. I very much liked having a small selection of DVDs and books in the room.
Breakfast coffee too watery for my tastes; it was fresh coffee though and I do like it very strong so may well be fine for others.
Welcoming pot of tea on arrival. Very friendly and helpful owners. Lots of little things that made the stay easier. One of the best 'Full English Breakfasts' you'll find.
Anyone who finds fault with this place is working at it.
The accommodation generally, but especially the extremely comfortable bed, excellent bathroom facilities, tea and coffee etc. provision, and the great variety and quality of the breakfasts.
Just a small matter. The entrance to the car park from the road is rather tight, particularly when you first arrive and when driving in the dark! However, the welcome and consideration received during our three night stay ensured that this "niggle" paled into insignificance.
Owners, comfort, breakfast.
A very minor issue, mover small driveway hard to spot in the dark.
Friendliness of proprietors. The breakfast was excellent. Much more personal than staying in a hotel!
The location was lovely , very friendly hosts ,
The couple that run this B&B are very polite and helpful, breakfast was cooked fresh and lovely, the room was brilliant and well the bathroom surprise was epic.... Rate this highly
Everything - Situated in the very quaint village of Houghton, 2 minute walk from everything, peaceful - even the local church has a delicate chime. Owners very friendly, very accomodating, helpful, informative, room spotless and good use of space (hidden bathroom). All little features thought of, can not fault at all. Even the owner rescuing me from spiders in my room. Have already recommended to colleagues, friends and family.
Nothing to list.
Booked this on the strength of reviews especcially breakfast and it most certainly didnt dissapoint, homemade marmalade to die for.
We were greeted on our arrival and the room was comfortable, Liz and Chris were excellent and the village was Lovely

1. like to take hot baths and the water wasn't particulary hot. 2. relatively few TV channels to choose from.
Greeted on arrival by both of the owners with offers of help with bags and parking. Shown where everything was and the wi fi set up. Lovely house and gardens. Food excellent and plentiful. Would recommend and visit again.
