Score from 505 reviews Good
The location was good, out of town so quieter but easy walking distance to the centre. Our room was comfortable and a nice surprise to have a bath, great for a soak after a days walking. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast very good.
The staff were friendly and they were really dog friendly.
we were on the top floor and the wifi didn't work very well.
Lovely big clean room. Great choice for breakfast both hot and cold.
The location The breakfast How you can get food or a flask heated for the day The bath
Shower either scalded you or was freezing Hard pillows No drapes on four poster bed like the other rooms Out dated bathroom and room and generally the hotel The tartan carpets The fact everything was plugged into an extensions The price for staying here was £168 for two nights even travel lodge would of been more comfortable
Room good size Big bathroom good views. Real value for money. Good location.
Nothing negative to say.
Breakfast was good, good location
Decor Needs updating
Good location, allow pets.
Cold room. No hot water for one day. Why save money by using cheap breakfast ingredients, it doesn't save much.
Warm and friendly reception upon arrival, and great friendly service throughout the stay. Breakfast was cooked perfectly and plenty of options too. Room very comfortable with great selection of instant drinks and milk supplies, very tasteful decor.
Location great. Few minute walk into Ambleside.
Hotel very dated. Not very clean but staff nice. Wouldnt recommend or stay there again.

Very helpful staff
Cherry Garth Guest House is very convenient for exploring the Lake District. It offers comfortable accommodation at reasonable prices. The breakfast and helpful staff are two outstanding features. Thoroughly recommended.
A great all round stay! Great homely feeling to it, and the staff were very nice. Rooms were a nice size, well priced. Breakfast in the morning gives you a huge choice, again with great service. Will definitely stay here again if we are in the lakes! Thanks!
The weather! We unfortunately picked a bad weekend for our anniversary!
the amount of mushrooms on breakfast was very poor best not to have any. wasn't offered any tea at breakfast had to ask, the toilet didn't flush properly.
Breakfasts and bed was decent
room got hot and low ceiling above bed and in bathroom and staff were a bit abrupt and moody
The view from our room, which was room 5. The view from the dining room was excellent too. The four poster room 5 was a very large room. Bathroom excellent, is in a prime location.
The television in the room no channels. Could not get any at all even with the instructions. The breakfast was cold first morning, the bacon hardly cooked. Asked for it well done, the following morning was better. The scrambled eggs had no taste. The rooms need a refurb.
Everything but especially the choice and quality of the breakfast
Cold small breakfast
Interior decor was pretty nice and it is spacious. The man (father) who owns the place seems like a nice man and tried to help us with restaurant recommendations. This place has the potential to be very nice, but I really think the girls need to learn to be a bit more customer-orientated. Breakfast was decent but not lavish. Not a complete disaster but not what I expected for the rates or in fact from any host.
Unfortunately the attitude of the girls managing the place isn't customer-orientated; response to my comment that the room was cold (which it was) was instantly critical "that isn't a cold room", "someone must have turned the radiators off", "it's kept at 25 degrees" (it most definitely wasn't during the early evening!) and "oh well, it depends what you're used to!", rather than "let me take a quick look into that to investigate" or "let me see if there's something we can do". The following night scared that we would have another cold night, we read in the room that portable heaters were available on request. We requested and were lent one. But I then wondered why the girl hadn't offered us one before. That would have been the obvious/helpful thing to have done as our host. Also, while we were waiting to check out other people we're settling with credit cards etc but I was told that they had already charged my credit card manually with "customer not present" the previous day, in the middle of our stay. This was not right. The terms were payment at the end of the stay. I guess they did this because they feared I would complain when leaving about the room having been cold, in fact I had already withdrawn the whole amount in cash to give them. This was a liberty and underhand unfortunately. The place overall did NOT feel dirty however I was confused by some old cream-gone-browny facecloths in the room as to whether they were cleaning rags left by mistake but no in fact they were facecloths and the toilet brush was very old and dirty. Simple things that I think you expect to be fresh and salubrious which were not.
The view from room was good, free carpark good, location good
Everything a bit tatty and old, noise from other room not good
Friendly welcome, not fussy. Nice view from room. Easy walk to the village centre, with restaurants, shops, 3! cinemas. Bus stop outside for Grasmere, Keswick, Windermere or Coniston. Decent breakfast with thank goodness no jolly music. Peace.
Good quality breakfast Lovely view from our room Helpful staff
Good location, comfortable room, good food so no hesitation in going back there. .
No complaints at all - just a shame we only had time for one night.
