Very quiet in excellent position very close to centre of town. A guest house with some character. Unfortunately we were only able to stay one night, but would have been happy to stay longer.

Friendly & unobtrusive staff/managers; I was able to check in well before lunchtime; good car parking and a really convenient location easy to find/get to and only a couple of minutes walk into Ambleside; good breakfast choice and good value for money. Enjoyed staying here! A few creaks and squeaks but this is an old Lakeland house! The bathroom could do with updating but clean and bright; water presure a bit low to fill a bath quickly but plenty of hot water. Smallish TV screen fixed on the wall looked dark unless viewed head-on.

Very homely family orientated hotel, pleasent rooms with great views! Plenty of choice at breakfast,we have stayed twice in this hotel and would stay again, value for money! The only thing that spoilt it for us is that breakfast is served between 8am until 9am which is rather early compared to other hotels where its normally 10am,great if you want to be out and about early but not so good if you want to have a little bit of a lie in,plus you have to vacate hotel at 11am,which again all the hotels we have stayed in its 12pm,just a minor issue!

The guest house was very comfortable. As soon as we walked through the door it felt like home. The room was comfortable and relaxing. The Guest House is very close to the town centre, which is great especially if you are having a drink :-)

Amy and Viv were friendly and informative. The location is superb, as it is just a 5 min walk from Ambleside. Great information about where to eat, walks, small maps etc are found in the room. Views are pretty great, especially at breaktfast time, but saying that, staying in room number 7 had some great views! Breakfast is exactly what you would like, cereal, fruit, juice, croissants, tea, coffee etc etc it's all there and a cooked breakfast made to what you would like ie:- eggs this wat, bacon that way, no toms but hash browns instead (not me by the way) just brilliant and much appreciated! May I suggest a monthly check on what they put in "tea/coffee/choc" box. I found 1 packet that was out of date by 5 months.

I had a lovely 5 night stay @ Cherry Garth: the owners were friendly and the room was fantastic...comfy bed & jacuzzi bath! What more could you ask for after some lakeside hiking? I would definitely stay again. The only thing I would change was the tv: I found the satellite box a bit of a nightmare....a million channels but not very user-friendly. But that's a minor gripe during an otherwise 10/10 stay, as I didn't go to Ambleside for the telly!

The staff were absolutely lovely. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The guest house has a very relaxed atmosphere and instantly found ourselves unwinding. Our shower was a bit dodgy!

From the moment I arrived the staff were very welcoming and the hotel very cosy and comfortable. My room was very nice although a little hot as the sky light windows didn't open however I used the desk fan to keep cool. Location is excellent only a 10 minute walk into Ambleside town centre. The breakfast was served between 8 and 9 which I found rather early after a late night so I missed it completely which was a shame having paid for it.

We loved the victorian style and the cosiness of the house. The owners were very accomodating and very friendly. Would recommend the house to anyone who wants a nice relaxing quiet stay. Beautiful walks/hikes, quaint stores and great scenery. Ver easy to find.

Very friendly staff and we had a pleasant stay all in all. Many other guesthouses / b&b:s did not allow for only one night's stay over the weekend. Breakfast was average.. Precooked and then microwaved.

It was in a good location with nice views. Compared to other places we have stayed, it was poor value for money. The room was basic and the jacuzzi bath looked like it had been there for years. Breakfast was also poor.
