Lovely people, very obliging. Rooms old style but very clean and comfortable. Everything you could want in room. Superb breakfast. Not really. Could do with a paint outside, but that's all. Probably about £10 - 15 too much per night, but we're not complaining as it was a half term week. |

Family run and very friendly. the hotel staff really make you feel at home. The rooms are all very clean and the breakfast was excellent. A definite plus point from my 5 year old was the ample supply of kids toys which can be taken to your room. Handy for walks into Ambleside and surroundings. I will definately stay here again. The "avocado" bathroom suite was a bit too retro. |

Staff could not have been more helpful or accomodating. The small garden is delightful and a lovely place to sit out in the late evening. |

Great location - in terms of Ambleside itself - and of course Ambleside is well situated for access to the whole area. Friendly welcome, and pleasant, clean facilities. In places, the decor in our room was looking rather tired, but in fairness the proprietors say they are gradually refurbishing in stages. |

The gardens were beautiful, the 'superior' room was large with a four poster, overlooking the garden. It was short stroll into town, loads to do in the area. The bathroom was not good. The shower curtain had mould on it so, I would not use the shower, the bathroom door (inside) was dirty and needed cleaning, the toilet bowl needed cleaning. This needs to be addressed in the current climate of 'Swine Flu'. The bedroom was very nice. |

The staff was very friendly and helpfull. I enjoyed a tremendously relaxing evening at the hotel. Set back of the main road, it was more quiet than expected. I would recommend this as a B & B type hotel for nature lovers. |
