Very quiet in excellent position very close to centre of town. A guest house with some character. Unfortunately we were only able to stay one night, but would have been happy to stay longer.

Cherry Garth is in a great location, just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Ambleside and also close to the lake. The main reason we chose to stay at Cherry Garth was because they allowed us to bring our dog with us. The guest house is clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a very enjoyable stay there and would definitely recommend it.

The staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was very nice. It was more shabby then shabby chic, the decor and room facilities felt tired, our room was described as superior but seemed mediocre (E.G. the spa bath didn't work).

Loved the breakfast. Staff very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Great location of room as we had a dog with us. Lovely jacuzzi bath just a shame in both the evening and morning there wasn't enough hot water to fill it.

It's our third stay at Cherry Garth Guest House, we've stayed in the normal double room, deluxe room and superior room on each occasion ... the rooms are a good size, light and airy and pleasantly decorated. The rooms are very clean and there are baths/showers and even jacuzzi baths in some of the rooms. We like the location of the Guest House and the fact that it's family run, which gives it more charm and a nice friendly feel to it. The breakfasts are lovely and plentiful cheerfully served by the owners and small staff. We always enjoy the atmosphere at the Cherry Garth and it's a perfect base for Ambleside, Winderemere, Newby Bridge, Kendal and all the other Lakes in the Lake District. Beautiful countryside and many places to eat ... many recommended by the owners of Cherry Garth. Plenty to do and see around the area. We always enjoy our stay and know that we can ask for extra pillows, tea bags, milk sachets and any other stuff we need which will be provided by courteous and friendly people with a genuine interest to provide the best service for their guests. It's a pleasure to stay at the Cherry Garth and we will continue to come back whenever we visit the Lake District. We like the fact that it's family run and therefore more attention to detail in that respect. Would recommend to anyone!! No complaints .... anything wrong with our room would have been addressed at the time (and I'm sure would have been put right). If you need anything special or extra you can ask and they will do their best to oblige.

Good location for access to Ambleside. Bedroom was large but on ground floor main road- would benefit from blinds/cafe curtains.Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Quaint. Four poster bed was very squeaky and soft. Parking was tight due to inconsiderate audi owner!

It was comfortable and very conveniently located for us. We had a good breakfast choice and a good selection of teas/coffees etc in our room.Drying facilities (we had got very wet out walking) were excellent. Also appreciated assistance with our luggage to our third floor bedrooms. The lounge part of the lounge/dining room was very limited. We like to be able to open our bedroom window at night which we were unable to do here (it was a skylight window)

Parking space was excellent. Entrance hall was warm and welcoming. Our room on the ground floor was clean and tidy and my children also found the same on the upper floor with excellent views from their windows. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice particularly for my Daughter's friend who is Bahraini and cannot eat certain foods. The only complaint I have was that the water was not very hot for washing in the morning.

The setting is beautiful and the staff were supportive, friendly, helpful and appeared interested in their guests. A very positive attitude was portrayed with enthusiasm. The room was large with good aesthetic features. Although covered with a lovely curtain, I noticed that the bathroom window was mouldy, the paint work was flaky and not very healthy. This deficit requires serious attention I think. The bedroom/bathroom temperature was a bit cold in the evening & would benefit from a higher setting, especially as the weather was pretty cold.

Friendy staff made me feel very welcome and safe, which was particularly welcome as I was a lone, female traveller. They also offered to meet my special needs as I wasn't eating their regular breakfast. I enjoyed all the walking magazines and the copy of Vogue (!) left in my room, and the tv with Freeview. And I had a lovely hot bath early in the morning. The decor wasn't exactly state-of-the-art,and the view from Room 10 was a bit disappointing,

Great as a base to explore the Lakes (Ambleside, Windermere, Keswick, Bowness), as it is really close to the bus stop - I do not drive - really nice room, good choice of breakfasts, nice friendly place to stay. Ambleside itself is a really nice town, plenty of shops, coffee shops, pubs and restaurants. I love it!

Cherry garth was a lovely big guest house, and was dog friendly which was great, only problem we had was couldn't stand and have a shower as under eves. Lovely place a bit dated bit this added to character. Wonderful stay we will return as location great for walks and Ambleside. Although we only found 1 dog friendly pub that served food in Ambleside and food there was very average. Good job we had a nice big B/fast at Guest House Yummy
