The only good thing about the Cheshire Hotel is its location. I paid £205 for one night in this disgusting room, on a week day, to be close to where I was having business meetings all day. When I left the hotel I was near to tears because I was so tired. I was put in room G5 - on the ground floor, directly opposite the lift and next door (as in two steps through a clanking door) to the lobby. I immediately asked for a different room and was told it wasn't possible. The room was grubby and in need of a thorough clean. Sheets and blankets were stained. There were cigarette holes in the counterpane. The sink was cracked and there were hairs in the bath. Sound insulation is non-existant. Throughout the night, all I could hear were people chatting (very loudly and drunkenly sometimes) as they waited for the lift. A couple of them banged into my door. I could hear doors slamming and the CLUNK, CUNK CHANG! clunk, clunk, clunk, clunk CHANG! of the lift opening and closing. The doors from the lobby kept slamming - and I could hear everything from neighbouring rooms too. There's also street noise - my room looked out onto an NCP car park. The guy on reception when I checked in took rudeness to new levels. The lady who was there when I checked out was nicer and her English was better. However, when I said what a terrible night I'd had and how dirty the room was, she just said, "Oh, yes, other people have said that." Maybe I just lucked out and got the one rubbish room in this hotel. Who knows? I'm not going to go back and find out. I'm just bowled over by the sheer cheek of taking more than £200 for a night in this horrid, horrid room.

location i booked the hotel because of the location and the price - normal price for a double £350, special offer £90. i was offered a pokey little bedroom with several holes in the carpet and an unflushed loo. when i said that was a bit poor i was given the keys to a room that was already occupied! i ended up in the first room. i would never, ever stay in this hotel again and would never ever recommend it to someone coming to london. this was shocking. i cannot believe the standard price of a double room at the cheshire hotel is £350.

The location is fair and not far from Euston train station. No welcoming, no complimantry water, you can hear the next rooms plus the water dripping from the toilet.

The hotel was very well situated for shopping and getting around, with the Tottenham Court underground central line right around the corner. Only a few minutes walk to either the shops on Oxford Street or the nightlife of Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus. We Will Rock You theatre was just around the corner, along with Garfunkals and Cafe Rouge, and bars just a few steps further. Good location. Hotel looks good from the outside and a nice reception area with seating. Shower worked well, plenty of hot water. Comfy enough bed. The room was absolutely tiny - the smallest room I've ever stayed in and it was quite claustrophobic when two people are both trying to get dressed and ready to go out. If you were staying for more than a few days you would definately need more storage space for clothes. The miniscule wardrobe was virtually full already with an upright fan and luggage holder, but absolutely nowwhere else to put it as there was only just about enough room to get around the bed. (one at a time) . Disappointed that there was no bar in the hotel or even minibar, so just a place to sleep only. Lift was very 'tired' and seemed to pause for a rest at every floor. Would ask for a suite next time if the price was right as the size of the room was the only concern

We loved the location - very handy for the shows. Don't take your cat with you - there is no room to swing one! Very small rooms for travellers with international luggage! Also they need to fix the hot water service. We had no hot water for 4 out of 5 mornings. Breakfast was very dear.

The locations was good as far as being able to walk to Conventy , some theatres, and the west end. Facilities were antiquated. The area was extremely noisey, both with vehicle traffic and pedestrian noise, well into the early morning hours. Not one person in our group was able to get a good nights sleep for any of the time we stayed there. If you can afford better, please do.

Pros: Very nice staff. The location is great - ten minutes from several of the best locations in London. Cons: Rooms are tiny and the price was rather steep for what you got. And of course, you needed to pay extra for both breakfast and wifi.

Very nice exterior, and pleasent staff. The smallest room we ever stayed in. Although clean, the carpet was threadbare, the window blind looked like a piece of rag, and the bathroom threashold tiles were broken, too dangerous to walk in bare feet, overall the room was extremely tired and worn. If this is a 3* hotel, I would hate to think what a 1 or 2* would be like. Extremely dissappointed. Certainly not worth £145 per night.

Very friendly staff. Excellent location. Some things starting to break in the room. Shower was dodgy and could be fixed with a new hose. Why hasn't it been done already? Iron leaking water. Why hasn't it been repolaced already? Blinds broken. Why haven't they been fixed already? For a few pounds and less than 30 minutes all of these small details could be fixed and the room would be perfect!

It was close to everything we needed and it was great that we could walk everywhere. The hotel was cosy and clean! Also the room wasn't too hot. It was a bit pricey.

It was close to the Dominion Theatre. The room was adequate for our needs for the one night. However, the bath was badly fitted and had a hole in the panel; the wall paper was peeling and was generally very tired. It was not worth the £110 that we paid for it. Wouldn't use it again.

The stuff was very friendly and the location is perfect as very central. The bed was horrible no real sheets just some itchy blanket it felt more like a hostel bed, even they are better..the towels had holes all together I'd say I would not recommend the hotel which is a shame as the stuff working there were really friendly. But at the end of the day I am paying for the bed to sleep in..

I chose the hotel because of price and location. In London all hotels are stupily priced. The room was very glum. I asked for a room at the front, so got one at the back overlooking a dirty yard. There weren't even proper curtains in the room and nothing to make it look bright. Bright curtains and bedding would not cost the earth! The breakfast was good but service not so good. Scrambled egg was boiled egg cut into squares! There was no relaxing area to sit and night and have a drink.

We was at first very happy with the stay. But the last day, we asked them in the reception to order a taxi for us. Without our knowledge, they chose to order a "private" taxi - probably one of there cousins - which we didn´t noticed until we were at the final destination and was going to pay. The trip was much more expensive, than what we have paid earlier, and the driver got angry when we wanted to pay with creditcard and not cash. Very bad customer service, and that spoiled the total impression of our stay.

Very disappointed with this hotel. The room was ok but a bit dark and small, but that would have been fine, given the rate and the excellent location right next to the British Museum; except 1) main light bulb needed replacing when I arrived, 2) the bath panel had three large holes in the side and was badly cracked, the floor was not very clean and the sink drained very slowly. 3) But worst of all I discovered 6 insect bite around my waist in the morning - resumabley either fleas or bed bugs. I was going to write to the hotel today as I returned from London late last night.

The room was of a very poor standard, the bathroom was dirty .. the bath had large holes in the side panel. The toilet roll holder was missing and therefore the toilet roll was just on top, the flush was dirty and loose. Around the floor, pipes and door where dusty. As a result we used hand sanitiser and didn't sue the bathroom. The internal lock on the main door was broken. The walls are very thin we could hear conversations, we were also disturbed by the noise from outside. The selection at breakfast was poor for the extra cost.

The hotel location is fantastic & the staff are friendly. The carpet in our room had several large threadbare patches, the window would not close & the blind was broken. The bath panel had 2 holes in it & the water leaked from under the shower screen all over the bathroom floor, the bathroom ceiling had black damp mould on it. The bedroom furniture was very tatty & dated & the bedroom itself was really small. The hotel is quite run down which is a shame as from the outside it looks good. The whole place needs renovating or the carpets & furniture replacing as a minimum. I would not stay there again in its present condition!

Friendly and helpfull staff almost everything the htell to offer. We refused the first roo, 305, This wa vertually uninhabitable. Smelt of mold and cigarette smake throughout the room the carpted was threadbare. Both rooms we booked were to small and the room was in very poor condition. A broken socket in bathroom with exposed wires, broken shelf above the sink.Black mold around bath, water taps wrong way round and dangerous when hot is used. Cold water tap high pressure pushes it over sink, every piece of furnature in room was broken and curtain pole broken had to be wedged into window frame.Lifts poor and took ages to get up/down.

Not much! It was a good location The hotel was old and shabby. There was no bar even though it was indicated. Our room was right by reception and looked onto the pavement .Only a very poor blind at the window which was either down or up or on the floor. Breakfast was appauling and very slowl to appear. The room was a dark basement and people were complaining about the lack of heat. There is much wrong!!! Not good value at all
