“The hotel as a cosy feel to it. The staff were very polite and accomodating. Although the rooms are small they served their purpose very well. Our room was clean and nicely decorated with a nice en suite bathroom. The hotel was warm and quiet.”

location i booked the hotel because of the location and the price - normal price for a double £350, special offer £90. i was offered a pokey little bedroom with several holes in the carpet and an unflushed loo. when i said that was a bit poor i was given the keys to a room that was already occupied! i ended up in the first room. i would never, ever stay in this hotel again and would never ever recommend it to someone coming to london. this was shocking. i cannot believe the standard price of a double room at the cheshire hotel is £350.

The hotel was very well situated for shopping and getting around, with the Tottenham Court underground central line right around the corner. Only a few minutes walk to either the shops on Oxford Street or the nightlife of Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus. We Will Rock You theatre was just around the corner, along with Garfunkals and Cafe Rouge, and bars just a few steps further. Good location. Hotel looks good from the outside and a nice reception area with seating. Shower worked well, plenty of hot water. Comfy enough bed. The room was absolutely tiny - the smallest room I've ever stayed in and it was quite claustrophobic when two people are both trying to get dressed and ready to go out. If you were staying for more than a few days you would definately need more storage space for clothes. The miniscule wardrobe was virtually full already with an upright fan and luggage holder, but absolutely nowwhere else to put it as there was only just about enough room to get around the bed. (one at a time) . Disappointed that there was no bar in the hotel or even minibar, so just a place to sleep only. Lift was very 'tired' and seemed to pause for a rest at every floor. Would ask for a suite next time if the price was right as the size of the room was the only concern

Location (it is the best) and breakfast (excellent options and service). Internet it is not for free at the hotel. It must be paid. This is unreasonable in London, the world´s city with the most number of free wifi networks available. Besides, the wifi signal is very weak, so one pay a high value for nothing. Hot water was not available one day. Poor Tv channels. No cable or satellite options. A bit noise around the room, difficult to rest (many doors, including the lift´s one, being opened and closed frequently at night).

I had to be moved to another hotel as the pipes were broken I believe. I was moved to another hotel - I asked if this was to be a similar standard as the Cheshire - and told yes. The alternative hotel was poor - the bedroom standard very low so I'm not happy with this. I appreciate it was necessary and sympathise but the standard at the alternaitive hotel was just not good enough. John Harris

The continental breakfast was ok. The room was tiny. The furniture was very scratched. The television did not work ( or at least the remote control did not) The curtains in the bedroom and bathroom were a joke. The toiletet roll holder was broken. The showerholder on the wall was broken so showering meant holding the shower hose to wash yourself. The bath towels were tiny. The lifts are worn and all woodwork around them was badly scuffed. This hotel was very, very bad value and I would not recommend it to anyone. I would recommend that Booking.Com take it off their list of London Hotels. Fk

Excellent location, just next door to the Dominion Theater, to Oxford Street and to the tube. The room were clean and the maid came every day to make the bed, cleaned the bathroom and gave us clean towels.

Staff were very friendly, Ideal location for West End which was the reason for choosing this hotel but would expect more for the price we payed. Room was very small and decoration work was going on in room next to us. Breakfast was advertised as hot breakfast so would expect Full English but in the morning it was Continental and defiantly not worth the money they charged. You can get a 2 for 1 on Full English round the corner in the restaurant for half the price £9.95. You could upgrade to Full English for extra cost but was already more than what it was worth. Would expect more from a hotel for the price we payed.

The staff were all friendly & helpful with problems. The hotle was sub standard and rooms offered were damp, shabby, broken furniture, broken bathroom fittings, damp carpets, rotten surrounds and standing water in broken tiles on one bathroom floor offered to us. Staff did their best with what they had.

It's within walking distance to Soho and shopping areas and there are a coupple of nice cafés near by. Do not stay at this hotel! I have travelled in more than 40 countries as a journalist but I have never experienced something like this in a Western European country. At least not outside summer season. On March 31, with close to zero degrees outside at night, the staff refused to turn on the heating. I asked them four (4) times to turn it on, but no. The windows in my room were poorly isolated and the cold wind came oosing in. I got sick and had to stay in bed two days after I got home. Further, the staff over-charged me for both room service and for late check out. I had two beers and three bottles of water of which I drank one beer. But I had to pay for all of it. We had agreed on a late check-out fee. That was not respected, they charged me for more hours. The money is not the issue. It is about service attitude and providing service for your guests. This hotel is cinically going for your money - without providing the service you pay for.

Terrible experience. Heating in room was stuck on full blast and they couldn't do anything about it. Also carpet was soaking wet so I couldn't walk around without shoes on. Room was also very small and lots of noise outside throughout night.

The hotel was overbooked so we got upgraded to a suite which was pleasant although I wouldn´t say it was a suite! The water was switched off all day on Sunday so the hotel kindly allowed us to check out later. I do think the early check out time of 10 am though is a bit unfair. Otherwise I would stay there again.

Location was excellent, near the tube station. The breakfast was terrible took one look at it and we decided to go to the cafe next door and pay for a proper breakfast, the room was not very clean and had a strange wet patch on the floor which did not amuse me. We had to go to burger king to get a cup of tea as there was no facilities in the room. Also there is no bar in the hotel and even though there is room service you dont want to spend any longer than you have to in your room.
