We have used this hotel several times. The rooms are good, very comfy and the breakfast is lovely.
There is nothing to dislike
Excellent Breakfast Quiet Rooms
Slightly dated rooms
Best breakfast I have had for ages
Pleasant staff, well laid out room, modernised but still with character. Lovely conservatory for breakfast.
WiFi in the room was a bit iffy - but free of course
Price location quality. Superb staff.
Small hotel/motel in a pleasant and lively area on the outskirts of the City but within easy walking distance of most City attractions. Good off-road parking. Pleasant rooms that are small but clean and adequately furnished and with good bathrooms. In room WiFi is also very useful. A very good breakfast served every day.
Even the double rooms maybe a little cramped for international travelers with large or several cases.
Only 15 minute walk to city centre. Plenty of pubs and restaurants to get a good evening meal less than 5 minute walk away. The breakfast at hotel was very nice, the staff very hopeful and very pleasant.
Excellent location for easy bus to chester centre plus plenty of local pubs for evening dining/drinks
This hotel was lovely, great value for money and greatly placed near the town and shops. Breakfast was lovely and the staff couldnt do enough for you, they were very polite and helpful. We had a minor problem with our bed breaking during the bight we reported to reception and was told to enjoy our day out as planned and as pronised upon return it was sorted excellent hotel
Close to Chester, also close to good eating pub across the road. Really nice breakfast.
Friendly and helpful check-in staff. I didn't really spend a great deal of time at the hotel, as I was there for one night and arrived late and departed early !
Nothing of any note.
Friendly staff, good breakfast with attentive service, ample car parking. Had a chalet-style room (no 21) at the back of hotel which was quiet and had it's own little courtyard. We were allowed to leave the car parked up for a while after checking out.
Room smelt a little damp on entering but didn't notice it after that. More importantly the shower didn't work. This didn't seem to be a surprise when we reported it; as that was on checking out we don't know how soon it was attended to.
The staff were very helpful
Beds like sleeping on boards not a bed. Asked for quiet room but got room 1 which was at top of stairs that everybody 'stomped' past all hours at night. Noisy slamming doors.
Rooms were very clean and a good size, staff were very welcoming, polite and helpful
Plumbing between the two rooms was a problem and every time the toilet flushed there was a loud noise from the water pipes
general appearance tidiness cleanliness comfortable good car parking
On our second morning, a member of staff approached us and asked if we'd like to change room, so that night we stayed in a beautiful first floor room in the main house. Everything about it was very good: the size, the bed, furnishings, shower room, standard of cleanliness, wifi. The public rooms were cosy and appealing, and the breakfast menu covered a wide selection of food and drink. If this had been our only experience of this hotel, I would have been extremely enthusiastic about it.
On our first night we were very disappointed with our room. It was inconveniently small, in that there was no space at all to fit in a chair, and even a small bag left on the floor had to be stepped over when moving around the room. There were spiders and cobwebs on walls and ceiling. The external light was positioned so that even with the blinds and curtains closed, we couldn't sleep because of the amount of light in the room. The shower room was also very small, with one non-functioning shelf and hence no-where to put toiletries. Using the shower necessitated switching on a separate pump, which made the most amazing amount of noise. We mentioned at reception that wifi signal was non-existent, and for this reason, we were asked at breakfast if we'd like to change our room.
Amazingly helpful & friendly staff, excellent service, great location, easy to find & plenty of free parking, great breakfast - very attentive staff. Clean rooms.
Nothing really, for what we paid it was excellent value for money. If I was to be picky - wifi was very hit & miss in our room in the courtyard. Room was small & there was a knack to flushing the toilet & using the "power" shower but it was fine. We spent our days & nights exploring the beautiful city of Chester & didn't book the hotel to spend all of our time in our room.
Clean and comfortable and only a 20 minute walk to city centre. We had a courtyard room and were able to park right outside the door. Staff courteous and helpful. Continental breakfast quite sufficient for us. Would definitely stay there again if in the area.
Nothing to dislike
Very large room on front with little road noise. Fan provided adequate cooling of the room. Breakfast was more than expected.
Location, breakfast(menu very good) cleanliness
location of room (in the attic and up 2 flights of stairs ) not good for 'oldies'
City centre within walking distance and large free car park within the grounds Pretty hotel with a very nice, airy breakfast room and lovely large room on the first floor
Poor Wi-Fi reception and drinks at the bar were rather expensive
Value For Money in every aspect, well trained and very friendly staff, excellent customer service skills. We look forward to staying again, A True Home From Home. Thank You and keep up the excellent work
Duvet rather than blanket & sheets 2 chairs in the room
The wall fixed Dove hand & shower wash dispenser and its contents Not knowing from the booking on line that the room was in the annexe and separated from the main hotel building
comfortable room and friendly staff, very good breakfast.
