My stay was very homely and I would certainly suggest Chester Town house to anyone visiting Chester. It is very convenient for the centre and there is an excellent restaurant 'Chez jules' at the top of the road.

Excellently situated within Chester walls, it's beautiful 1600 townhouse. We had 2 single beds joined, so large bed and very comfortable on either side of the join. It was very hot, so we appreciated having a fan in our room too

The smoke alarm was beeping in our room, when I asked the owner to sort it out, she said "either take it off, or I can give u batteries to change", I wasn't impressed with either option, as the ceiling was too high for me to reach without balancing on a chair! We put up with the beep in the end as we couldn't open it! Also, no toilet roll in the room, which u don't notice until u need it - not happy about that! No shower either, it was roasting hot and we couldn't shower in the morning, a broken unit was on the wall and the hose, curtain etc had all been removed. Finally as we were leaving (and had already paid / given keys in to a staff member), we said goodbye to the owner who simply barked "have u paid ur bill?". There are plenty of other places to stay in Chester, and we won't be back to this guest house x

The location was excellent. Close to train station, shops and the race track. Good breakfast. Owners were very pleasant and very helpful.

Room could have been a bit cleaner. Drawers next to bed had crumbs and hairs in.

Very handy for walking to Central Chester and the National Express stand.

Finding the street by car and unloading baggage. We needed to make use of a nearby car park before walking the final short distance to the Chester Town House.

There is everything to like about this guesthouse.

Some slight late noise at weekends due to late night revellers going home from the city centre.

The house was very comfortable and we were made really welcome. We had a little difficulty finding the place, but once found, it was very central. I had a little problem with the bath/shower, as I cannot climb over the edge at the moment, but I blame myself for not making it clear that I had that problem. Mrs Bellis and her assistant were most helpful and I would recommend this guest house.

    Nothing.

It was a very nice stay and a great host lady. She was waiting for us because we arrived at 20:30 and she provided us immediately with cough medicine for the first night. The next day she helped us to get an appointment with her doctor. The guesthouse is old but charming. Breakfast was a pleasure. Perfect cooked after our likings. I can highly recommend the Chester Town House to other guests.

The room was beautiful, comfortable, and peaceful. There was no noise at night, though we were close enough to walk to the town center- walk easily! The hostess/owner was the perfect lady to welcome us. She was calming, sweet, yet efficient. I'd go back again The breakfasts were fabulous.

the only problem was the room key: the lock was quite old and was a little fiddly to get in.

Convenient to coach station, university and shops. Breakfast cooked to perfection, locally sourced. Owner was very friendly. Owner made sure we had everything we needed.

Would have liked a shower but the owners had kindly given us a twin bedroom which was better suited to our needs than the double we had originally booked.

Pleasant owner, good food, tidy oldy worldly kind of building, handy for city.

Insufficient towels, didn't like to ask for more. TV didn't work on all stations or I couldn't work it. Dodgy cold tap,odd improvements needed.

The town house was a very nice b&B. It was in the center of Chester, which is what we wanted for our stay. The staff were more than helpful. It was value for money. The bed was comfortable and because of the age of the property what made it even more quirky were the creaky boards, which shows just how old the house is. The location is perfect and the option to park was of great benefit as you park up and forget about the car until it's time to leave. Well worth paying the extra for that. Breakfast was ample and the bacon was the best bacon we have tried. Will definitely return should we visit chester again.

The house itself is lovely, The room we stayed in was clean, the only thing I would say would be that it is in need of upgrading, the shower was loose, water poured out from under the door and the cold water tap wouldn't close properly. No wifi and the tv didn't work. You need a degree to understand how to turn it on!! :) I think a little bit more tlc recommended. If it was mine I would redecorate, new upgraded furniture, new bathrooms. The breakfast was lovely but needed a little more thought and presentation of fruit, cereals etc. not much of a variety. These are only small negatives which can be addressed in time and which would make the B&B even more charming than it is already.
