friendly staff, REALLY lovely room, spa excellent , food very tasty, service excellent. Thank you . Looking forward to next booking. The room for breakfast is not the same room as the restaurant, both are lovely.
Bar drinks a little expensive, :( cocktail glass serving quite small, :(
Enjoyed a very relaxing break, tranquil surroundings and excellent leisure facilities. The room was very spacious with a lovely comfy bed, came away feeling rested and rejuvenated.
Disappointed by the restaurant which looked more like a canteen so we chose to dine at a nearby pub.
The room and the bathroom were really big, the bed was so comfortable. The food in the restaurant was very tasty but maybe a bit pricey.
We had two light bulbs out in our room and they didn't have the right bulbs to replace them.
Beautiful location, excellent service, comfortable room.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed comfortable Very Good facilities Good location near everything in Chester Gym and swimming pool
The toilet seat wasn't the one that goes back by itself lol. The outside smelt of manure sometimes. Dinning room lacked atmosphere at night (Thursday)
The facilities on offer are superb in a very relaxing environment. I would definitely stay again when in the area.
Cant think of anything....................
Beautiful hotel and setting - excellent rooms
More than an hour wait for bar food even though the restaurant wasn't especially busy. No explanations and lame excuses when challenged. Poor quality food.
The welcoming nature of the staff. The food The location The spa facilities Peaceful setting
Watching one young man licking his plate at the dinner table on the Friday evening
Idyllic setting. Lots of history
Strange smell outdoors. Like a farmyard
The rooms where spacious and and clean excellent
Menu and food needs to be catered for vegetarians an breakfast poor
Comfy beds , lovely staff.
The staff and the hotels
Hotel price good but to add breakfast was expensive
Our room was beautifully finished and huge! We found the hotel to be really relaxing and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the spa facilities.
Loved the old building & gardens
I was very happy with the room, and bed in the executive room with the balcony overlooking the kitchen window and cleanliness.
I was disappointed with the afternoon tea, scones were hard no jam just cream and only two choices of cake which didn't look very fresh
just a good nice place....room was bigger than expected and worth the money to stay and very friendly staff
The rooms were very spacious, an oldy worldly feel but with a modern twist. Dinner was good and the cocktails even better.
You had to pay extra for breakfast and it wasn't really worth the money, very small portions and very average in taste. I have had better.
The Spa facilities were amazing
The restaurant prices were a bit steep
Then staff and the rooms were excellent would happily return to the hotel .
The time of the spa treatment wasn't long
We loved the people we encountered there. The pub atmosphere was great. The location was hard to find. The food was excellent! They have done the very most possible with a very old building.
Very hard to find.
Room was large and well appointed
Breakfast was poor value. Restaurant and staff were not what I would expect in a hotel if this standard
Large room and bathroom, decent size TV, the grounds the hotel is set in
Shower didn't have much pressure
staff pleasant value for money very clean
We stayed in a ground floor superior room. The window has no small upper window that you can open at night. Unfortunately if you want a window open, as we did, it was warm, you have to open the main window. Being on the ground floor, anyone could just climb it. So we didn't do that as we felt quite exposed. Window locks should be fitted so you can open the window sufficiently and lock it into place.
