Area information

The historic city of Chester is only 4 miles (6.5 km) from the hotel. Chester has a rich history, dating all the way back to the days of ancient Rome. The city still has a Roman amphitheatre, which was built in the first century AD and which could sit between 8,000 and 10,000 people. The Minerva Shrine, in the Roman quarry, is the only rock-cut Roman shrine still in place in Britain.

Chester also has a magnificent cathedral and the famous Chester Racecourse.

Travel information

By Car (from the M6 and M56 motorways):
- Take the M6 to junction 20 and then join the M56 towards Chester.
- Continue to the end of the M56, ignoring the turn-off to Chester.
- At the roundabout at the end of the M56, follow the signs for Queensferry and North Wales taking the A5117 for approximately 0.5 miles (0.8 km) to the next roundabout, with the Little Chef on the left-hand side.
- Turn left onto the A540 towards Chester and continue on for about 2 miles (3.2 km).
- After 1.5 miles (2.4 km) you will pass a pub on the left-hand side; the road then bends to the right.
- Continue on for about 0.25 miles (0.4 km), looking out for the hotel, which is on the right-hand side, set back from the road.

By Car (from Liverpool and the M53 motorway):
- Take the Wallasey Tunnel (Kingsway) from Liverpool, following the signs for the M53 motorway.
- Join the M53 motorway, heading towards Chester to junction 10.
- Turn right at this roundabout, taking the 3rd exit onto the A5117, signposted Queensferry / North Wales.
- Go straight across each roundabout, until the 6th roundabout, with the Little Chef on the left-hand side.
- From here, follow the directions above.
