The Mill Hotel and Spa is next to the Shropshire Union Canal, a 5 minute walk from Chester Station. It offers 5 eateries, free parking and a health club with a pool.
Score from 2163 reviews Very good
Within the grounds of Chester Racecourse, this Holiday Inn Express provides free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour front desk and impressive views. Chester’s historic center is just a 5-minute walk away.
Score from 1198 reviews Very good
With a modern fitness center and stylish Lounge Bar, ABode Chester also houses the Michael Caines Restaurant and Champagne Bar on the fifth floor, with views out over historic Chester and Chester...
Score from 706 reviews Excellent
Opposite Chester Station, the Premier Queen first opened in 1860, and offers grand Victorian style and free Wi-Fi. The center of the city is nearby.

Very polite staff, bed was comfortable.
Very over priced, poor standard of hotel, worn carpets damage units & corridor floors move & squeaky as your walk along. Pressure of shower poor & toilet paper cheap, Walls are so thin that you can hear your neighbours in their rooms or guest walking along the corridor so clearly you would think you was in the same room together. This kept us awake most of the night, we decided to leave first thing in the morning! Will never recommend Mercue hotels
Very good insulation from outside noise, room size is good, reasonable facilities.
poor insulation between rooms (could hear foot steps) and the bath is rather small.
pool facilities, Staff very freindly and attentive
good value for money
The leisure facilities were good and location close to the Chester City centre.
The rooms are not sound proof. Can hear residents in surrounding rooms.
lovely hotel with helpful friendly staff. Located close to Chesters park and ride.
Nice friendly staff, breakfast good
Very comfortable bed. Nice staff brill swimming pool gym etc
Close to park and ride, less than 3 minutes walk, £2.00 return to City centre. Good pub for great food 10 minutes walk on same road, Cheshire Cat. Good buffet breakfast.
The room was lovely and clean with a modern look to it, the TV even welcomes you by name on screen when you turn it on, this was a nice touch. Also loved the dimmer lights above the bed, very handy.
the only thing I would have liked was for the breakfast to be on until 10.30AM as it is on the weekend, instead of 9.30AM. Also for the pool to be strictly hotel guests and not for locals.
The pool was nice but changing rooms are poor
The room was small and the bathroom was definitely not of 4* standards
My best friend and I had a lovely night at the hotel. Pool and sauna were lovely. Meal was delicious and breakfast lasted me the day. Close proximity for shopping in Chester. Would recommend
accommodation was fine rooms clean and comfy
extortianate bar prices ,don't no how they can justify these no wonder bar is empty .shame.
Comfy Bod and Pillows
Price of drinks at the bar Stains on the carpet in the bedroom.
Peace and quiet had a nice break enjoyed sitting in the bar
The hotel and staff were great. Rooms cleaned each day although one days we stayed in our room till late aft so asked not to be cleaned . We left the hotel about 5pm. When we got back our room had been done. Breakfast was lovely and the room overlooked the gardens. Our stay was peaceful and relaxing . We made use of the spa and gym facilities throughout our stay which was an added bonus.
No complaints .
Great health club with gym, sauna, pool, steam room. Generally nice enough and not too expensive.
There is something very wrong with floor boards of the upper rooms. When the people on the first floor are walking around in their rooms it is incredibly loud in the downstairs rooms (in our room anyway). We complained about this, as we hardly slept at night because of the noise, and all we were told was that there were many people checking out that morning and that it should be better the next day. It was not. In addition the housekeeping staff felt it was necessary to vacuum at 8.30am in front of our room on New Year's day which is really rather inconsiderate seen that the hotel itself offered a New Year's party till 2am. The prices in the bar/restaurant are very high for what is offered. There were spiderwebs in the room next to the window.
Good location Good sized rooms Family friendly Decent leisure facilities Helpfull staff
A little bit dated and worn - could do with modernising in places
We had booked 2 nights and the New Years Eve event, which cost us £385 altogether and unfortunately, due to a family crisis I had to leave on the first evening and my partner had to leave the next morning, he never even got to eat breakfast. We never got to enjoy any of the facility's...which was really upsetting.
location was handy for our days exploring
Very small room. Could only fit one person in the bathroom at one time it was SO small. Bed was on wheels so you couldn't sit up in bed without falling down the back. Radiator didn't work. Red hot at bottom but cold at the top (need bleeding). It certainly wasn't value for money. For the same price I could have stopped at Premier Inn for the same price and better quality including a bigger bed!
Not much really
Good location, excellent breakfast.
The room was cold, was told by reception heating did not go on until 6pm. This was in December! Bathroom radiator did not come on at all. Decor of the room was quite dated.
The hotel was a great place to stay and not far from home and had a friendly atmosphere
Nice friendly staff, good food. Plenty of parking spaces. A nice feeling to the hotel.
The leisure centre is looking a tad tied could do with a make over. The changing area also needs a spruce up. Allowing female minors in the male changing rooms is alarming.
The comfort of the bed The quietness of the location The extra Christmas goodies in the room, Chocolate money, party poppers, lucozade, candy canes, the chocolate orange segments The food The drinks choice Our waiter Harry (Excellent) The tables set for New Years Eve were good, containing masks, novelties and we had our own table which I loved we expected to be on large tables of 10 or more so that was a nice surprise The canapes and fizz on arrival
The wecome at the Hotel was a little clinical and officious, not very friendly A credit/debit card was not asked for on arrival so when it came to New Years Eve meal and we ordered drinks we were expected to pay cash of which we had non so Harry our lovely waiter sorted the card out for us No food was served on new Years day except a brunch breakfast and some sandwiches if you asked for them No bar menu served
