I try to take my wife away every 6 months or so. Just 24 hours away from normal family life so that we can both relax, talk and spend some quality time together. We would normally always book a hotel, but this time however, we decided to give The Chester residence a go. We booked into the penthouse suite 8/1 and we were not disappointed. The staff were very helpful. Check with the Chester Residence regarding car parking, there is no 24 hour roadside parking permitted. |

We had a classic suite at the Chester Residence. We booked at short notice and the rate was £99. The suite is actually a whole flat, kitted out with mod cons (e.g. speakers in-built in the walls, pre-loaded iPod etc) in a lovely Georgian townhouse. Would definitely stay here again if I return to Edinburgh. No negative points about the hotel at all, although don't take any chances by parking on the street without paying - the traffic wardens were everywhere! |

Recieved a free upgrade, which was lovel. Brand new and very comfortable. A home from home. Luxury appartment, very close to all the facilities of The city centre. Small thing that they were still missing, in my opinion. Tv set up still not working properly, but that was the fault of Sky. Lots of gadgets with no instruction on how to use them and there was no info in the room about local facilites, ie local attraction. Fire door also very loud and heavym they slam shut and that can be heard in the other rooms. |

The furniture and electronics were of top quality and it was a gorgeous apartment with plenty of space. The electican came into fix something in the morning before we had checked out. |

I was upgraded for free when I arrived. The room(s) was gorgeous and spacious and had so many unexpected amenities. Staff was genuinely concerned about my comfort...wanted to help me in any way. Location was prefect...close to train station and close enough to city center without being noisy outside at night. I could go on and on, and the rate was lower than most hotels that offered much less! A door in a room somewhere below me keep slamming very loudly as I was trying to go to sleep, but that's the only remotely negative thing I could come up with. The place is wonderful! |

The fridge being stocked up with continental breakfast each morning was a nice touch, and the living room was really big and spacious, very good for relaxing and unwinding. |

Beautiifully appointed apartment in a classy convenient location. Had everything that we could need from a 'home from home'. Owners on duty at reception, and they could not have been more pleasant. Strongly recommended. |

We had a lovely time and our stay was more relaxed than staying in a hotel. We stayed in the Garden Suite. The freedom of having your own place is great. The apartment was immaculate and we look forward to returning. |

The property catered for all our needs, from a well balanced breakfast to excellent media facilites: Large LCD TV, Blu Ray DVD player and iPod docking station. The property had a leaky skylight. |

The apartment is beautiful and well catered for the breakfast. The place is very quiet and very comfortable with a very great location, just minutes walk from Princess Street and the Castle. From the first floor suite you can even enjoy a nice view on the rear garden. Probably, being ranked 5 stars, much care should be taken of particulars such as the dust on the bulbs and on the blinds in the main bathroom. For the rest, it looks almost spotless. |
