Score from 1168 reviews Very good
On 200 acres of beautiful, tranquil grounds, this 4-star luxury hotel features spacious accommodations and impressive recreational facilities, including an indoor heated swimming pool and an 18-hole...
Score from 216 reviews Very good
Terrible nights sleep, could hear everything in the two rooms either side. Spa facilities not fantastic
Room was lovely but the bathroom needed a bit of an updating.
Leisure pool etc very poor standard. Champagne lunch an unbelievable rip off..One tiny bottle of proseco to share a bowl of soup and a dried out sandwich..not even a bit of salad to dress it up..that bit absolutely appalling...
Location, ambience, food and drink. Staff particularly at breakfast were great
No WiFi in the cabins.
Location is brilliant, shame it was winter.
Had a brilliant last minute stay away. Will be going back x
Nice room nice view and area
Power cut as soon as we arrived so didn't get chance to use the spa, weren't offered anything complimentary in fact 1st we were told we couldn't get a drink as there were no power to use the till. food was very standard would expect a lot more taste and quality for the price and place, waitresses weren't vet food either
Love the lodge feel to the place- it felt especially nice as it was Christmas!
Wifi didn't work in the room and no mobile signal. Only an issue as we have our own business so generally prefer to be contactable!!
Food poor. Breakfast poor
good all round value for money will be back!!
Bit short of staff but it was new years eve!!! no bar staff so night porter was dropped in the deep end so may be need sort that.
Location Restaraunt Staff friendly
Log cabins smelt damp Bed was wobbly and squeaky on the verge of collapse
Sound travels through wood, we had a barking dog one evening, very noisy neighbours one night a a share in the disco music another night. The breakfast coffee varied in strength each morning and the table service could could have been better
pleasant staff great location .
Room was cold. Hotel generally needs work, especially our room bathroom which was very tired. In the hotel restaurant was seated in conservatory and was cold. Also food was nice but not worth the price we paid,
Got married here 5 years ago in january! Its so magical in the winter time with snow and the lake being frozen, open fires etc
Theres nothing to dislike
The building design was quirky, cosy and really comfortable. The setting was rural and beautiful. The facilities both in our lovely family room and in the spa and shared spaces within the hotel were excellent. We will be going back - it was that gorgeous.
Restaurant meals though excellent were a bit pricey, and the restaurant staff in the morning whilst doing an excellent job seemed a little under pressure, not very relaxing.
the hotel had a nice friendly atmosphere its a shame it was tarnished after leaving
Been telephoned after leaving saying there was a balance still to pay when i had settled the account before leaving, and then the person arguing with me about if i had or hadn't paid, they then said they would check further and come back if need be. As i knew i had paid i did not expect a call but it would have been nice to have one back as an apology but no!!
Greeted by the night receptionist's complaints that the forms are all changed, he couldn't work the PC, no-one told him anything, couldn't find our bookings etc. I suggested we had a drink in the bar while he worked it out and he said it was shut! Why? "Shuts at 11pm". It was 10.35 and still open. The young lady behind the bar would not serve us without our registration cards which we didn't have as previously detailed! We were told we could only pay by cash if we had the right change as she had already cashed up! We had one drink (no the lager, they'd run out) were just about to have another when the bar was boarded up and the staff went with no warning! Probably the worst service I've had in 30 years of business travel! The hotel itself is ok - nothing special but at £65 a night, that's fair enough!
Everything, the leisure facilities were brilliant had such a lovely meal on the evening and breakfast in the morning looking onto the lake.
Aeroplanes early morning but not a big issue and not hotels fault
Quiet location, ambient atmosphere
Very dimly lit room, bath and shower had seen better days!
Upgrade to suite on arrival. Allowed to check in early. Food was excellent. Treatments were excellent. Staff friendly and professional. Outdoor hot tub was amazing. Location wonderful.
Pool and jacuzzi in need of some attention.
Enjoyed ever tinting that chevin had to offer us
The surrounding woodland
The rotten wood and small under cooked cooked breakfast
House keeping staff left wet dirty towels on the the bed, also on the last night of are stay the bed covers wasn't changed!, this was quite disappointing
Spa facilities great, would highly recommend the back massage and facial. Outdoor Jacuzzi is great.
we booked a table for our evening meal, the tables were too close together, we could hear everything the couple next to us was talking about and vice versa! Not exactly the romantic meal for two I was looking for!
Staff extremely helpful and polite...especially girl behind bar. Lovely place to just chill out and relax.
Not enough choice for breakfast for vegetarians...very expensive so would have expected more options.
