This is a nice country pub with good food and very pleasant staff. Room good and bed comfortable.

Can be noisy if there is a Wedding party. Bar service very slow at peak times, may be improved with another till, needs analyzing.

Very friendly staff and atmospher. Good breakfast. Very nice location. Felt I was in the country side with all the facilities of the city to hand. Bottled water in room a nice touch. Would stay there again.

Room was a bit tired. Hairdrier did not work . Plug in sink did not work. Skirting boards need dusting. Nothing that could not be fixed.

The room had some style; was comfortable and sufficient for a short stay.

The whole city was very busy because of the visit of the "Giants"; the bar was also very busy and the staff were heavily occupied.

Location good for access to central Liverpool. Pleasant setting. Interesting building. Information about local attractions was useful. Breakfast staff particularly helpful and pleasant.

Very crowded beer garden- but it was the hottest day of the year. Room was a little cramped. Some areas could have been cleaner.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was quiet and had its own car parking. Also being attached to a pub was a bonus.

The room was hot and didn't have many plug sockets.

After the pub is shut and the church bells have stopped it is a very quiet location.

Instant coffee in a cafetiere. Toenail clipping on carpet from previous occupant. Carpets appear grubby. Needs some decoration.

The ancient building from 1425 c.a. looks like a castle yet has good parking nearby. It seems to be a popular venue with locals which is always a good sign. The food was good too!

Reflecting the age of the building and its up to date fire safety regulations, my upstairs room seemed to be in a warren of small corridors.

Bed was confortable. Breakfast adequate but not special.

Shower pressure useless. Public areas tired and in need of a redecorate. Far too much noise until the early hours.

Great location, good parking. Ambience great, good meals cooked superbly, kudos to the chef! Room spotless, perfect for our requirements. Easy access into Liverpool , could not have asked for a better location!

Could offer a little bit more for those you don't do a cooked breakfast - a choice of yogurts and some fruit would be good.
